  Great atmosphere. Relaxing hotel. Staff are wonderful.

  Had a fantastic holiday here. By far the best mid range hotel that we've stayed at in Spain and the Spanish Islands. Many of the guests that we spoke to were repeat visitors. We will most definitely return. Rooms: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 Rooms Spacious. Lots of storage. Good air conditioning.Good shower. Decor a little tired. Nearby activities Beach is a short walk. Restaurants and supermarket and shopping malls nearby. Very quiet area. Short 15 minute seafront walk to La Caleta includes steep hill. Bus stop outside the hotel. Reception will call taxis for you which generally arrive within 5 minutes. Safety No safety issues other than steep stairs to access the beach club and seafront. Walkability Area not suitable for someone with walking difficulties due to hill and lots of steep steps. Food and drinks Fantastic selection of very good food and drinks in hotel which should suit all tastes including good vegan choices. Noteworthy details Pools are wonderful. Staff are friendly, professional, kind and very proactive. Nothing is too much trouble. We dined out on the terrace at breakfast and every night, as the restaurants are very dark. Better lighting would increase the number of people opting to dine indoors where they could benefit from the great air conditioning. We were a group of 5 and had to wait for a table on the terrace if we arrived at busy times. The tables are mainly set up for 2 people. Evening entertainment was better than average though probably geared to the more msture guests who predominate here. We enjoyed the shows.   As remembered, great hotel with lovely staff

  Having stayed here previously in 2018, 2019 (2020 cancelled due to Covid) we were looking forward to being back after so long. It didn’t disappoint, we loved being back from the friendly warm welcome on reception to every member of staff being positive & polite. We even recognised quite a few from our previous stays which in my eyes means a great deal if the staff have been there that long. The place was spotless, food was varied with plenty of choice & we never had an issue getting a Sunbed. It’s a lovely relaxing resort with good pools & added bonus of the beach down some stairs (maybe not for the less energetic but still doable for most) Easy to walk to La Caleta or Fanaba but also has a bus stop right out the front that runs every 15 mins 467 which takes you to Los Chris, via adeje for less than 2 euro for a single. I would recommend & would return

  Will definitely return

  What's not to love. Do not hesitate to book this lovely Adults only hotel. The rooms are good, and a good size. Yes of course could probably do with a lick of paint but plenty of storage, plenty if hangers. Our balcony was ample big enough to sit and take in the lovely atmosphere. A downside are the bathroom towels which are way too small. If you are clever, change your pool towels before you go up to your room and use them for your shower. These are perfect. Oh and the beds wow, they are wonderful. Would love to get one of those mattresses! Our room was cleaned spectacularly every day. The toilets in the reception area were immaculately clean and in my opinion better than those in the Palace across the road. Staff are good, a shout out for Roberto on reception, the regular pool man who hands out lovely pool towels and with the best smile ever. The majority of the waiters are brilliant Felix was good, always had a smile. The restaurant- If you can't find something that suits your taste/pallet, don't go on holiday! A bit shout out to the soup chef. OMG the soups were delicious. A big shout out for the lady who cooks the eggs, sorry I didn't get your name, she cooks the best eggs to your taste if you are fussy about your eggs as I am!! The pools and property generally is spotlessly clean. If there is a downside to the Arecas it would have to be the Spa. It really isn't good for the money paid. It's much nicer across the road at the Palace. Definitely needs a refurbishment. Also the lifts were out if order quite a lot so if you have walking difficulties this could prove a problem. This also made me a little concerned about using the lifts. Our safe jammed shut twice which wasn't a big problem but we had to wait in our room quite a while waiting for the engineer to fix this. Not his fault, he was so very busy but our holiday time. Maybe more staff needed. This hotel was full which shows to me how good it is. Just a word of warning do not take any notice of the towels on sunbeds rule. The best sunbeds are gone with no bodies on them by 07 30. There is no policing of this rule. There were 2 people by us who never got to their sunbeds until after 13.00. Their towels were on the beds when we got there after breakfast However, all said, we will return without a shadow of doubt. Thank you Riu Arecas for a wonderful week.

  Perfectly relaxing stay - already booked again

  We stayed at Riu Arecas in September 2026, and if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing and tranquil break, this hotel is absolutely ideal. The atmosphere is calm, with mainly middle‑aged and older adults during our stay — everyone was respectful, peaceful and clearly there to unwind. The food was a real highlight. Breakfast offered the same selection each day, but the variety was so wide that it never felt repetitive — fresh fruits, pastries, hot dishes, cereals, juices and more. Dinner was incredible, with a huge choice of meats, fish, pizza, pasta, salads and desserts. Every evening felt different thanks to the range of dishes available. The grounds are beautiful, full of mature trees and immaculate gardens. The hotel has two fantastic 25‑metre swimming pools, perfect for proper swimming or relaxing by the water. The rooms are slightly dated, but they’re large, comfortable and spotless. The staff are exceptional. Every single person we met was friendly, kind and eager to help. The hotel is kept in immaculate condition, and the service genuinely elevates the whole experience. A few practical tips: No floats allowed in the pools. You’re given a towel card at check‑in, which you swap near the pool bar for fresh towels. At the end of the day, just hand the towel back and take a new card — much easier than carrying towels to your room. There’s a free safe in the room. We recommend taking a taxi from the airport — the hotel can book one for you the day before departure. We paid €38 each way, and it took around 20 minutes. We heard the free transfer can take up to 3 hours, depending on stops. Rooms include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, fridge, kettle and a hairdryer. Overall, Riu Arecas is a peaceful, beautifully maintained hotel with fantastic food and truly wonderful staff. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked to return next year.

  Would return

  Quiet location at one end of Adeje. Excellent friendly staff. Reasonably priced drinks and the half board food is faultless. Comfortable beds and large room. The whole place is spotless and well maintained. Pools spacious with plenty of sunbeds and good service. Evening entertainment singers won't suit everyone but that's just personal taste. Tiggy's bar across the road from the entrance is a great find for lunch and evening drinks with sports shown on request and background music.
