May 20, 2025Great hotel overall. Please get rid of the brown bathroom towels!
We've stayed in this Hotel a few times now, overall we really like this Hotel, Riu Arecas. Each time we stay, the hotel grows on us more. Location is excellent. It's extremely clean throughout. Rooms are comfortable. Great value for money. Most staff are friendly, 'Andrew' on the Front Desk/Reception is excellent, his customer service skills & friendliness should be commended, such genuine interactions with us, both checking us in & throughout our stay. On average there is an older clientele here at this hotel. Nasty, old and thin Brown towels in the bathrooms, Riu... you should have White towels in your bathrooms in ALL of your hotels. White is the Gold standard for any hotel. Great ✅️ ✅️ Spotlessly clean throughout ✅️ Great Housekeeping ✅️ Large rooms ✅️ Comfortable beds (although no duvet, only sheets) ✅️ Great bathrooms ✅️ Great Housekeeping ✅️ Great food at the buffet ✅️ Spanish Restaurant is good ✅️ Good bar service in general (less staff than before) PALOMA is Excellent, great service. ✅️ Most staff are friendly (Andrew on Reception/Front Desk is EXCELLENT) ✅️ Paula, Pilar & Beatriz are all excellent within the restaurant ✅️ Great location ✅️ Great pools and Beach/Pool area ✅️ Riu Class Diamond status recognised with gifts ✅️ Good gym ✅️ Spa area ✅️ Adults only ✅️ Very visible and competent Female hotel manager Could be improved ❌️ ❌️ Bar area is large, but there didn't seem as many staff serving as our previous stays here. One particular bar server was rude, a male with dark hair. No smile, not friendly at all. ❌️ Entertainment finishes far too early at approximately 10.30pm. This should be offered until at least 11pm/11.30pm even if it means the glass doors were closed across (for help with the noise/nearby rooms) It's ridiculous it ends at 10.30pm!! ❌️ Horrid and Thin 'Brown' towels in bathrooms (The GOLD standard of ANY hotel should be white towels!) Sort it out Riu! ❌️ Air Conditioning in the gym kept being turned off or turned down; so it was too hot ❌️ WHY is the gym locked at 7pm!? Just why?

Fabulous hotel
Beautiful hotel. I had a spacious twin room, large ensuite. Staff are all excellent, nothing is too much bother. The food was fabulous, so much choice. I intend to stay there again Thank you All

Overall I had a lovely stay at Riu Arecas. My only negative is that I’ve stayed at this hotel 5 times in as many years and the evening entertainment has never seemed to change. I realise you have to cover different nationalities and age groups but nevertheless I would have preferred some different acts. Also the rooms are looking a bit tired and could perhaps do with an upgrade.

Still good after all these years
This trip was my first on my own since my wife died, and first since Covid. My wife and I came to this hotel a few times before Covid and I wanted to come again because it was always so lovely, and thankfully still is. It was a tricky time on my own, but all the staff made me very welcome. It is a very well run hotel and the nicest one we/I have been to. Well done.
