    Anniversary weekend

The staff was very nice and helpful. Bilal helped us with our bags and our vehicle when we arrived and when we left. The construction on the streets was very difficult to navigate so having Bilal there to help us with parking the car was a huge help. You just don’t get service like this anymore. Montreal is a wonderful city and the service we received was top notch. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

    Amazing Concierge and Staff

Lots of positive things to say about the hotel but their key asset is their staff especially the concierge who went above and beyond to get us our taxi to the airport. On Sunday 2 June there was a road race in Montreal that the hotel didn’t know about until that morning. Subsequently our taxi couldn’t make it to the hotel as streets were closed. The concierge after many phone calls as the taxi got later and later agreed with the taxi driver to meet us at a street and place where the taxi could access and the concierge walked with us several streets away to the meet the driver. Absolutely amazing service and I’m just sorry in all the drama and stress I didn’t get his name but he was the only one working that morning and deserves huge credit for what he did. I have no doubt he would have a lot going on that morning with people in a similar situation to us. Reception staff and manager also tried to help out and cannot thank them all enough that we caught our flight home. We also got our room upgraded due to ongoing renovation works and street noise and this was done without any fuss. The staff on the Terrace were also fabulous. Great place to stay.

    Fabulous hotel in Old Montreal

My husband and I savored our days at the lovely, intimate, quiet Hotel Nelligan. In particular, the bed and the whirlpool bath were wonderful. Every employee was friendly. Two concierges, Annie and Jade, were warmly welcoming and immensely helpful with recommendations. It was a perfect location for exploring Old Montreal, a charming and delicious area. Our room on the fifth floor had a beautiful view of the rooftops and architecture.

    Outstanding hotel with brilliant staff

This hotel is fabulous. I would say it’s definitely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The staff were fantastic- so proactively helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble - it’s hard to single anyone out as they were all great but the 2 guys who greeted us at the door on arrival were fantastic and helped us to navigate the route to return our rental car! -(it’s not easy to drive around Montreal as there are lots of road closures and work being done). Jeremy and other staff in the rooftop bar were also great. There is work being done in the hotel but it didn’t affect our stay at all. We were upgraded on arrival to a bigger room which was greatly appreciated - the room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. It’s in a great location near the old port but it’s a bit difficult getting through the streets due to all the work being done- however it was worth the inconvenience to stay in such a great hotel. We didn’t have breakfast included but there is coffee/tea available in reception 24 hours with fruit and little cakes in the afternoon. Overall we really couldn’t fault this hotel- it’s outstanding.

Very good, but room for improvement at the Terrasse.

This is the most honest review I can write. We received a gift of a one night stay at the Nelligan for our 30th anniversary. We decided to use it to also celebrate a birthday. The check-in and valet parking were smooth, and they upgraded us to a suite, so that was nice. We went to the roof top terrace for a drink or two before heading out to dinner down the street at Modavie (great restaurant). My wife has a couple of lemon drop martinis, and they were just OK. I ordered a Hendricks gin and tonic which was delivered flat- the tonic had no carbonation at all. Ordered a replacement, it was perfect. Point being that for the prices charged, the drinks need to be memorable, and if you can do better at home then they need to pay attention to details and never serve an average or just OK drink. Oh did i mention even though we were guests at the hotel, they made us feel like they were doing us a favor by giving us a table. We returned the following morning at 11 for brunch with our two daughters. Great views and they rolled out the awning as it was getting hot, so that was nice. the brunch menu was limited with only one choice of an omelet for vegetarians. The truffle omelet was just Ok by the two of us that ordered it, and the Bene burger with poached egg and hollandaise was severely over cooked. Getting coffee was difficult to say the least, they were short staffed for sure, and the order for 2 regular coffees resulted in an americano and a double espresso... apparently they don't do regular coffee, and with only one coffee machine, the wait was more than 10 minutes. We had to ask twice to bring cream for the coffee. Nobody came to ask if everything was ok, and we had to get up and get our own water jug as it looked like nobody was coming back. All in all it was an expensive brunch that was barely ok. Will not recommend it to anyone if they want to go somewhere special, there are many other placed to go that do it better. Easy fix for improvement: staff properly and pay attention to your customers. Please.
