Great experience
Perfect location, nice staff and service, wonderful breakfast buffet. Nice garden inside the hotel. Room size ok with two double beds, but bathroom is small. Note : If you are Indian vegetarian, can ask the staff to prepare vegetarian dish for you for breakfast buffet.

Wonderful front desk staff.
A quick one night stay at this hotel and we were blown away by how friendly all the staff were - especially all the ladies on the front desk. The welcome gift as a gold of a bottle of wine and some chocolate was greatfully appreciated. The room was very modern with stunning views and 2 very comfortable double beds. Bathroom had a great rainforest shower. Breakfast opens at 630 and is busy first thing due the departure of lots of tour groups that seem to stay at the property. Both Hilton properties in Cairns have exceeded our expectations and provided great service and comfortable stays.

Should not be listed as 4 star!
Stayed here for 3 days with my mum. Overall I felt like this stay was far below expectations and not what I expected from the Hilton name Ill start with the pros The staff were very friendly, they texted and emailed me prior to my stay to make sure I didn’t need anything extra, they allowed us to check in early because we arrived a few hours before check in. Always smiling and saying hello, I will say customer service was friendly They also had two large double beds for us that were very comfortable. Didn’t change our sheets but that may just be an environmentally friendly decision They also do not have a swimming pool but offered us free uber to nearest Hilton with pool and uber back. The location is also v good. V close to the esplanade and the night markets, lagoon and lots of restaurants Now for the cons The main thing was the room itself It is very old build and needs a lot of refurbishment. The bathroom was tiny, there were stains on the bath, rust on every handle and generally did not feel like a 4 star room The coffee in the room was bad and there was a mini fridge but nothing inside and no other amenities in the room except a bathrobe You have to ask for extra amenities like slippers, shower cap, toothbrush etc, which they don’t tell you at check in. The slippers were terrible and honestly more of a hazard as they had zero grip. the wifi was not working well and there was no meeting room or disabled toilets/parents rooms in the lobby The breakfast had a good spread but the food itself was not very good or well seasoned, they charge extra for omelette station and food was not super appealing The same for the dinner. The restaurant is supposedly open for dinner from 4:30-20:30 but when we went at 6pm, it was completely empty. The food looked horrible, the selections weren’t good and the prices weren’t worth it. Normally I try to have one hotel dinner per trip to save money. This is not the place to do that Overall, I do not think this hotel deserves its 4 star status. It’s a v nice 2 star or average 3 star, but in need of a lot of work and upgrades.

Be aware
The rooms are small and obviously designed for Asian tourism The pool wasn’t operational The bathroom was tiled in an obviously slipping accident.Found the the multi use of towels on the floor corrects this. Breakfasts were real good The Parking was real good Only 3star

Such an amazing team!!!
We recently stayed at the Doubletree and must say the team there was one of the friendliest and most helpful I have had the good fortune to experience. Both Nicole and Bela on reception were incredible and really helpful in suggesting a solution to something that I wasn’t even expecting from them and their suggestion really helped us out!!! Thank you!!!! 👏👏👏👏 Amazing team!!!
