    Clean, comfortable and convenient

    Clean and comfortable, conveniently located on the Esplanade. The Doubletree is close to lots of dining options and about 15 minutes walk to the Marina area where a lot of the Reef cruises depart which is handy with those early starts!! Also not too far to go to look for a Woolworths supermarket. It's also often a pick-up spot for a number of the day tours which again is really handy with early starts. Hotel has a lovely pool and the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options also.

    In a word ... perfect!

    Of all the places my husband and I stayed during our month-long trip to Australia, this hotel--which we stayed at twice--was our favorite . Everything about our stay was perfect, from the exceptionally helpful staff and delicious welcome cookies to the beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean rooms and fantastic breakfast buffet. We absolutely loved the hotel's location with Cairn's amazing esplanade right across the street and fairly close to the eatery-packed night market and the day cruise terminal. There was even some free on-street parking right next to the hotel for our rental car. We truly didn't want to leave and really hope we can return in the future!

    Le petit chef Cairns, cannot miss

    Le petit chef Cairns was a great experience. Vanessa, Fernanda and Sere and Nicole were amazing hosts and made our experience fantastic. this i sthe second shgow we have seen and will difinately be looking forward to next years show and dinner, even though he is small the chef is great

    A quality hotel with a need for an upgrade

    As a Hilton Diamond member, I have stayed at many Hilton group properties. This is our first time stay at Doubletree Hilton Cairns. We stayed at a King Balcony Ocean view room for 6 nights on 14th August. The hotel boasts one of the best locations in Cairns. It is situated right in the city center, surrounded by myriad of restaurants and bars. Taxi from Cairns airport to the hotel only takes approximate 10 minutes. My room enjoys a sweeping ocean view. We walked from the hotel to the reef terminal where most the great barrier reef tours depart in less than 15 minutes. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a small gym. The gym is very small and for my opinion, it is not very useful. It only has a couple of bikes and treadmills, a few weights and small workout station. Given the size and rating of the hotel, the gym certainly needs an timely upgrade. My room is well appointed with a nice balcony. We enjoyed the sunrise and sunset from our balcony. It is disappointing to learn that Hilton Diamond members are only entitled to continental breakfast which a noticeable sign of cost cutting. We used to have full breakfast as a diamond members in the past. While the hotel has a very high standard, many areas show its need for a timely upgrade. For instance, our room has a number of areas that had cosmetic touch up. The wall picture is missing while the hook is still on the wall. The hotel staff are very friendly and professional. 10 out of 10 for the services.
