Perfect for families! We have stayed here several times for staycations and we absolutely love it! And their pools with a REAL SAND BEACH are amazing! They have personal touches each time, by welcoming us back and writing us a personal card. They go above and beyond every single time! We look forward to going back again!

Nov 04, 2026Dissapointing stay at the Grand Hyatt Resort Scottsdale
I had high expectations for the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort for my birthday stay, but unfortunately, my stay was filled with issues that fell well short of what I would expect from a luxury Hyatt property. 1. Power Outage Upon Arrival: On the day of our arrival, the resort experienced a power outage. While I understand that unexpected outages happen, the staff seemed completely unprepared. Rather than offering alternative arrangements or meaningful assistance, we were simply told to leave and return in two hours. Not exactly the welcome you expect from a luxury resort. 2. Guest of Honor Recognition: I had a Guest of Honor reservation, but the associated benefits and recognition had to be brought to the front desk’s attention during check-in. While this may seem minor compared to the other issues, I expected a smoother check-in experience, especially given Hyatt’s emphasis on recognizing its loyal guests. 3. Noise Disturbance and Safety Concerns: One night, the couple in the neighboring room was involved in a heated argument that lasted throughout the night, with loud banging against the walls and what sounded like objects being thrown. I contacted the front desk because I was genuinely concerned for the woman’s safety, not just because of the noise. Security responded by knocking on their door, asking them to keep the noise down, and leaving. Unfortunately, the arguing and banging continued afterward, leaving us unable to get a peaceful night’s sleep. 4. Fire Alarm Chirping Both Nights: A fire alarm or smoke detector was chirping throughout both nights of our stay. I reported the issue after the first night, but it was never resolved. There was a wedding taking place at the resort, and the front desk appeared extremely understaffed and overwhelmed, so I chose not to complain again. However, something as basic as a chirping smoke detector should not go unresolved at a resort of this caliber. 5. Flooded Balcony: Our balcony was flooded with standing water on both nights of our stay. What made this particularly confusing was that the drain appeared to be positioned at the higher end of the balcony’s slope, preventing water from draining properly. I’m not sure how this design was overlooked, but it made the balcony difficult to enjoy and raised questions about the property’s maintenance. 6. Extremely Limited Waterslide Hours: One of the reasons families choose a resort like this is to enjoy the pool amenities. Unfortunately, the waterslide was only open from 6 AM to 11 AM during our stay. These hours are incredibly inconvenient for families with children, especially when mornings are typically spent having breakfast and getting ready for the day. Closing a major family attraction before noon seems like a strange decision for a resort that markets itself as family-friendly. The Positive – Daily Breakfast: I do want to give credit where it’s due. We genuinely enjoyed the daily breakfast, which was one of the highlights of our stay. It was a pleasant experience and one of the few aspects of the resort that met our expectations. Overall: I understand that unexpected problems happen, but what defines a luxury resort is how those problems are handled. Unfortunately, the recurring theme throughout our stay was a lack of proactive service, attention to detail, and follow-through. Between the power outage, check-in issues, nighttime disturbances, unresolved fire alarm chirping, flooded balcony, and inconvenient waterslide hours, there were simply too many problems to overlook. The breakfast was enjoyable, but a good breakfast alone cannot make up for an otherwise frustrating stay. For a property carrying the Grand Hyatt name and charging luxury resort rates, I expected significantly better. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, as the resort has potential, but the guest experience needs considerable improvement.

Exceptional Hospitality Made Our Family Getaway Truly Memorable
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort while celebrating my husband's birthday with our two young children. From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations in every way! The resort itself is beautiful, with gorgeous grounds, fantastic pools, and wonderful water amenities that our children absolutely loved. The Family Cabana was definitely one of the highlights of our stay and made our afternoon by the pool even more enjoyable. What truly set this property apart, however, was the exceptional hospitality and genuine attention to detail from the staff. I would especially like to recognize **Ruben, the Guest Experience Manager**, who went above and beyond to make our stay special. He proactively reached out before our arrival, made us feel incredibly welcome, and thoughtfully helped arrange our Family Cabana experience. His warm, attentive, and personalized service made a lasting impression on our entire family. As a **World of Hyatt Globalist member**, I particularly appreciated how the team made us feel genuinely recognized and valued. The experience went far beyond the standard elite benefits. From the thoughtful pre-arrival communication and flexibility with early access to the resort amenities to the special birthday touches for my husband, every detail reflected a sincere commitment to guest satisfaction. It's rare to find a resort that combines such beautiful facilities with such exceptional, personalized service. This stay reminded us why we continue to choose Hyatt for our family travels. A heartfelt thank you to Ruben and the entire Grand Hyatt Scottsdale team for making our family getaway so memorable. The Grand Hyatt was a lovely property with an impressive offering of multiple pool and spa amenities. The room was nicely appointed with Balmain toiletry products in environmentally-friendly large multi-use sizes. The room I initially received was right off the main concourse and very loud well into the evening (11pm). I moved after that first night, and Gina at the front desk was super helpful in making that move happen in a timely and convenient manner. I thought the property was nice overall.

Favorite Resort!
my husband and I went here for my husbands 60th birthday for a few days while he golfed and it exceeded my expectations. I have been to many resorts and this one was top notch. Everyone was courtious, happy to help, friendly, attentive and just overall wondeful. We will definitely be back. The resort was beautiful. Many ammenities and lots to see and do. Were cozy places to sit and relax and enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend!
