Up-charge rip-off
We booked this hotel, payed in full, and received our confirmation. Upon arrival 2 upcharges we're demanded for use of the facility and an additional deposit. Understandable if we were traveling with pets but we were not. When we requested our receipt at checkout we were refused. I would not recommend this hotel due to it's fraudulent practices.

A nice quiet cozy bungalow/cottage feel, with clean rooms.
Service rep Karena was amazing. She took quality time with me and checked everything I asked for as far as prices in different rooms and lengths of stay for 2 different hotels. Would definitely recommend this hotel too a friend, because of friendly staff and luxurious clean rooms at a fair price for the location.

Awesome trip!
Amazing stay at the Gates Hotels. Staff was amazing especially Karena! She went above and beyond for us when our flights got changed and we needed to change our hotel dates and we really appreciated it.

Not what I expected
The hotel is combined with three other hotels next to each other. Checkin is at another hotel then the one you booked. The air conditioner was not working - we could not turn it off. The hairdryer was not working but was replaced later on. The hotel charged a resort fee $40 plus taxes and then in addition a parking fee of $15 per day plus taxes. This is a total ripoff- do not go there!

Not as described. Deluxe Pool View Room looked out onto the rotten wood at the rear of the stage.
Booked through Booking.com, four nights Deluxe Pool View Room. Complained that it looks out onto the rotten wood at the rear of the stage and you can only see the pool if you leave the room and walk to the left. Reception staff who said we’d be pleased with the room smiled and said speak with the manager. Dishonest reception staff are the first, worst and last encounters you have in a hotel - retraining required. The five storey picture on Booking.com is actually the nicer sister hotel next door to Gates Hotel - another deception which needs addressing. The rooms have been refurbished with hard flooring and no sound proofing to the ceilings so you hear everything above you. The smoke detector strobe and heating controls flash all night to give you that disco sleepless night experience. The three restaurants turned out to be burgers and snack food which you could order at the three bars. The price I’d paid was dropped on the website from $1400 to $939 so I asked Booking.com to price match as they promise, but they asked ME for proof even though they have all the details. This is the epitome of deception and fraudulent advertising.
