  Keep up your promise Secrets and dreams!

  Extremely disappointing evacuation communication and refund follow-through. During our October stay, we had to evacuate because of a hurricane. We understand that weather is outside the resort’s control. However, communication with us was inadequate. We learned about the evacuation from my cousin that morning and had approximately ten minutes to pack and leave our room. While we waited for buses, screens displayed that unused nights would be refunded. More than a month later, we are still trying to resolve that refund. Repeated emails have gone unanswered, and the responses we have received have not provided a satisfactory resolution. We also paid extra to upgrade from Dreams to Secrets, and the experience did not meet our expectations. Having to repeatedly chase a refund that was publicly communicated during an evacuation has made an already stressful experience worse. Based on how this has been handled, I would not return or recommend these resorts.

  Another Fantastic Vacation!

  I would like to start by saying that we had a fantastic week at Dreams Vallarta Bay. The service and staff were exceptional and looked after our every need. Special shout outs to the staff at Castaways where we had lunch every day, as well as the staff at the Italian restaurant where we ate dinner 4 of our 7 nights. We did the Teppanyaki table one evening and the show was amazing and another night we did Himitsu which was also very good. The shows in the evening were very entertaining but they should really have a better set up where people can sit comfortably to watch the show rather than sitting on hard concrete. They could also do with a sports bar with some pool tables, fooseball, ping pong, etc. as there wasn’t anything to do on a rainy day. Last but not least was the buffet. The wait staff were also very good and attentive and the food selection was okay. They really need to get some toasters so that people can toast their bread and the only boxed cereal selections were sugar loaded kids cereals. They would do well to get some Special K, Raison Bran or Corn Flakes in their selections not everyone wants bacon and eggs every day. We did stay in the preferred suites and were lucky enough to get a suite on the top floor. Suite was beautiful and the views amazing. We would definitely return again.

  Will be returing - family vacation oct 2026

  This was our second visit to this hotel. The exporers club was excellent staff made our daughters stay very fun while we relaxed. Staff at the hotel were truly exceptional. Resturants were great and food was high quality. Bar staff and pool staff very attentive. Zero issues with getting pool chairs as there were plenty. Room and hotel were clean. Butler, Adriana, was excellent and attentive; checking in regularly to see if we had and issues or requests. Overall a great experience and a 5 minute ride to town to see the city. Food quality was amazing. If I had to nitpick anything they could use a toaster (but staff made us toast on request) and entertainment could start earlier for families but again I am nitpicking. We will definitely return again based on quality and the quality based on the cost.

  Great Getaway

  Food was excellent. Room was excellent. Swim up Bar was full of kids sitting on stools while alcohol being served. Music too loud especially late afternoon. Sign should say no kids at swim up bar. Staff was fantastic. Great getaway!

  Exceptional service, sub-par amenities

  We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights with family for our vacation and had a mixed experience. Check-in was smooth, we were welcomed with drinks, our luggage was brought to the room, and the beautiful lobby made a great first impression. The staff genuinely made us feel cared for throughout our stay. They do offer tours and upgrades during check-in, but the presentation was helpful and low-pressure. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a letdown. The room was otherwise clean, but it smelled musty, the bathroom walls had what appeared to be fecal marks, and I later noticed mold on a decorative pillow. These details were disappointing and unexpected. Food was hit or miss. We enjoyed the Carnival buffet for breakfast and steak night, but most other options were mediocre, including the Barefoot Grill, which leaned heavily toward fried, typical American food. We were also disappointed that Tamarindo and the Asian restaurant were closed on multiple nights without any notice. On the positive side, the poolside service was great, and Oliver at the Carnival buffet was especially wonderful! We also appreciated the late checkout and the staff arranging a taxi for us. Overall, we felt well taken care of by the staff, but the cleanliness issues and limited restaurant availability were unexpected bumps in an otherwise enjoyable family stay. With better attention to room cleanliness and clearer communication about restaurant closures, the experience could have been much better.
