Fun , relaxing with a few big points to improve

Lovely hotel grounds and pool . Great entertainment during the day but limited at night . Being a family resort they need to get kids up on stage and do more for them . Adults are happy watching kids being entertained . If they want adult singing they can go next door to adult only beach hotel . Bar people are great but cocktails full of sugary spirits . How about healthy cocktails ? Cleaning service ok , food nice but not enough selection on menus for 2 week stay . Beach lovely with cool breeze but misty sea with no life so forget about snorkelling. Teen bar empty every day as kids take over sports bar wanting to play pool etc . Stick a pool table or two in there maybe it will attract them . Doesn’t help that teenagers were getting shots and getting very drunk . Not sure why they were serving alcohol to under age children . Nice time but probably not 5 star in terms of rooms , cocktails and food and evening entertainment .

    The best vacation

There is no words I can describe this resort. So clean, everyone so polite. One of the best employee is Yudetar who works as a waitress at main bar, there is no enough words to describe her, so nice, polite, the sweetest girls in this resort. Can wait to come back next year. We love you Dominicana.

    Best Vacation Ever

Although tropical storm Franklin came by, we still had an amazing vacation. The resort is absolutely gorgeous. Marcelo our Butler was extremely nice, helpful and attentive. Juan the bartender at the Preferred Lounge area, near the welcome desk in the lobby was magnificent! He had a special drink for us each night, without us even having to ask. Emely from concierge was extremely helpful from the time I started communicating with her, 3 weeks prior to our arrival. Emely assisted me with planning out my husband’s birthday celebration. What an amazing group of Super Stars!!! We look forward to returning very soon!!! Thank You so much!!!!

    Relaxing & Beautiful

Upon arrival at the resort we were immediately treated like family. Friendly greetings, champagne, cool towels (much needed for humidity), our bags were taken care of, and seamless check in! We booked through Costco and got the Preferred swim up room! Highly recommend! You also have a Butler when you book Preferred! Marcelo was amazing!! He checked in with us every morning, afternoon, and evening! He made our reservations at Fusion Teppanyaki. He knew who we were even while we were floating in the pool or walking around! I can’t say enough about him! Food was good and lots of choices. Portofino and Seaside Grill were my favorites. We tried each place at least once. Room service food was just ok. Lots of drinks but not very strong. You need to ask for extra shots. Staff was mostly friendly. Shout out to Robert, Benjamin, and Tom! I expected better personalities from the bartenders from previous reviews. There was honestly just 2-3 that treated us like we weren’t a bother. Unfortunately the staff at the Coco Cafe each morning were simply just not happy to be there. No matter what we tried we couldn’t get them to smile. The resort and beach were simply beautiful! There was quite a bit of seaweed however we received warnings about that as it was the season for high seaweed.

In no way a 5 star resort

Let me start with the goodl The best part about the resort is the Kids club (love Candy and Nichole) and the beach. The kids club tried hard to keep kids entertained and my 8 and 5 year old wanted to go almost every day. It was nice to have a break. The resort also did as good as they could to remove the seaweed. They got it off the beach so it looked nice, but it was all in the ocean. But its the ocean, can't fault them. Unfortunately, there is too much bad. This may be a 5 Dominican star resort but it is a 3 star resort by US standards at best. The food is abysmal. I mean literally often inedible. Taste like absolute crap. I also got so sick from it. I threw up and my stomach was jacked up for days. I saw flies flying around the buffet. My kids liked Sunday's ice cream though. OH MY Gosh, also I never had one cup of coffee there that was good and allegedly the DR has good coffee. But no, I ordered a latte and she gave me some AM/PM coffee with an ice cube in it. Oh and everyone expects a tip, everyone. The drinks were a disgrace. There is no alcohol in them. I drank all day and night and I never got a buzz except ONE day where we asked for Bacardi specifically. Although that is the day that I got sick and I really wondered if there wasn't something altered in the drink as it was a different kind of sick. The rooms were clean but mine smelled like urine. The rooms are INSANELY loud due to marble floors. I woke up every day to the sound of someone dragging their furniture around. Other than that, the rooms were spacious and clean. But they clean at really weird times so sometimes we didn't get service until late in the afternoon or evening. The pool is way too warm. It felt like pee. They should keep it cooler. The entertainment was just ok. They tried. The workers seemed rude, like they had a chip on their shoulder. None spoke English either which I am not mad about, it is their country and my husband spoke Spanish. But just a note if you don't speak Spanish, good luck. But some of the entertainment, specifically Mr Wonderful was extremely rude. Instead of making me feel like I was having fun, learning how to dance Bachata (which I already know) and trying to speak spanish, he put me down for trying. What kind of entertainment is that. He is whack and a lot of them had that attitude. Not only would i never go back to this resort, I would never go back to the Dominican because of it. I felt like it is a budget resort and anyone that would even think to consider this a 5 star hotel has never been to one.
