Good staff but watch out for room renovation construction!
We stayed for one week back in April. The resort is clean, well kept, and the staff is phenomenal. Fernando at the spa and Salvador on the entertainment team went above and beyond with everything; every day we saw them they greeted us by name and were always friendly and smiling. The food was typical of the Dreams resorts: tasty and accessible. Lots of free activities and entertainment to keep all ages having fun. The spa was a bit pricey but the hydrotherapy was a great experience prior to the massage. The ok: this resort is very wedding focused and at times you may be moved around from the beach and pool to accommodate ceremonies. This usually happens mid-late afternoon so be prepared. The bad: on our second day at the resort, we experienced construction noise in the suite above from 7 am-11 pm. It wasn't until we complained twice that the resort offered to move us. If construction is ongoing, ideally the resort shouldn't book the suite below. The rooms we stayed at also did not have much space to store your clothes. No dresser and a couple of shelves in the closet resulted in my husband and I using the couch and chairs to keep our clothes. Also, the French restaurant is one restaurant that could be skipped (and this sentiment was shared by other groups we met). Overall our time at the resort was great, but we'd probably go to another resort the next time we vacation in Mexico!
Memories made at El Patio
Our first visit to Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa was in March 2020 and El Patio restaurant really impressed us with its beautiful ambiance and quality food, especially the tongue tacos! Fast forward to May 2023 and we made our way back to the resort for our family vacation. We were eager to go back to El Patio since we missed it for over 2 years. Everything was excellent just like the first time, but there was something extra special this time around…our waiter Esequiel. Esequiel was friendly, attentive and informative about all menu items. He praised the chefs for their careful preparation of all the food and we especially enjoyed hearing all of the ingredients that make up their delicious mole. Esequiel treated us like family and he provided excellent service that really made the overall experience unforgettable. We will miss him and hope that others get to experience the magic that we did during our multiple visits at El Patio.
A wonderful week at Dreams Riviera Cancun
Great experience at Dreams Riviera Cancun. Beautiful and comfortable rooms with all necessary equipment. The resort and the beach are very clean. Good quality of restaurants with friendly staff. We had also had a treatment at the Spa, a pure moment of relaxation! Our concierge took really good care of us by asking everyday if we had any special requests. We will come back next year for sure.
Staff really professional and courteous, food mediocre
The service is really top notch! Food is not too good. The staff are super attentive and very friendly and fun. Lots of activities all through day and night on property age appropriate. The private pools and outside patio tubs are old, could use some updating. Beds are comfy and staff come 2x a day to offer snacks, water, towels, anything you need. There are multiple weddings daily but they are fun to watch. Lots of loud music at night from the receptions but we weren't too bothered. Beach was murky and not really blue, maybe the sargussum made it here. No one was swimming in it. Pools are very nice and lots of them. It's farther from the airport than I imagined. It's not in the hotel zone, so you can't easily go anywhere else, nothing close by at all.
Great resort! Friendly staff from the moment we arrived! BIG shout out to 'Spicy Gil', he was Amazing, best employee ever!!. He's excellent with the entertainment, bingo, volleyball, zumba etc. He's very nice and 'spiced' up every event!! Will definitely recommend this resort.
