Mixed review
Mixed review . Very nice resort, room was good (overlooked the garden) and the staff were very attentive and nice. Completely fully inclusive, so no extras to pay. Unfortunately it is very loud. It is a major wedding venue, 2/3 weddings a day (quite strange to be sitting by the pool in your cossie as a bride walks by in all her regalia). It was full of large wedding groups who tended to be very loud during the day. You didn't want to get caught sitting in between them during the day. It was also very loud at night with people returning to their rooms v late and not thinking about others who may be sleeping. Like others we put towels against our door to try and block the noise- which didn't work. Overall I had a lovely time but I am not sure I would return to this hotel.

Great hotel and amazing staff
I have no idea what people can complain about. It’s a lovely resort and the staff go above and beyond. Enough restaurants to stop you getting bored with the food. Our one small complaint would be the hot food in the buffet could be hotter but the quality was great and it was never cold. Spa was lovely and make sure you go and see what offers they have on as we got a much better price when we went to the spa to book. Preferred club was great, nice little area to get away from it all and great bar staff who remember what you like and how you like it. Preferred club beach area was great and staff go above and beyond and don’t tolerate people saving sun beds early and not using them and will remove towels if it gets busy. There are a few weddings but they don’t start until about 3-4pm and never went on into the night. Never ruined our holiday. TRIPS - try the guys on the beach, Pelican Tours, did 2 trips with them and they were great and so much cheaper than Amstar.

Just a few negatives
This was a very nice resort and I can say I’ve now stayed at several Dreams/Secrets across Mexico so I feel I can make a fair assessment. The Pros: The grounds were absolutely perfect and well maintained. The staff were all wonderful and very friendly. The Explorers Club (kids club) was great and my 6 year old wanted to spend more time there than I was expecting. The food was on par with all the other Dreams resorts I’ve been to, nothing to really go crazy over but it was good. The Barefoot Grill was so convenient for grabbing a quick snack during the day. We did the Preferred club and felt the access to the club and preferred club breakfast at seaside grill were both very nice. Honestly, having breakfast at the Seaside Grill watching the ocean was a nice way to start the day. The Cons: I’ve read other reviews highlight this and thought they were overreacting, but it is LOUD at night while in your rooms for several reasons. 1. This resort while beautiful is VERY compact compared to the other resorts we’ve been. 2. It is very wedding heavy and there are only so many places they can host a reception so for example, our first night there were 4 receptions. 2 on the beach, one above Oceania and one near the pool. The music from the receptions were absolutely deafening. Like I want people to have fun, but good lord, the sliding doors in our room rattled so much. The receptions do end at 10 PM which isn’t super late but if you have kids, it’s a challenge. Also, if I hear “Fireball” by Pitbull one more time I may lose it. 3. Our preferred club room faced the ocean but the door to the room (2nd floor) was along the main walkway area through the resort. After the weddings people would then travel back and forth to the lobby bar and Desires lounge (which again is fine) but the way the noises carries you could hear every conversation and people would be loud. Our first night, there were people out until well past 3 AM and it was an awful nights sleep. We tried covering the door with towels to try and block sound but it barely did much. Tips: 1.If you’re planning to eat at Seaside Grill for dinner and plan to eat earlier, get there at least 15 minutes before opening to get in line. 2. The hibachi tables can be reserved through the app for the up to three days in advanced but the reservations go extremely fast. You gotta book it immediately when the next days offering opens. 3. Pay attention to restaurant schedules. They vary day by day. Overall: It’s not a bad resort at all and it’s quite lovely but if you’re going to have a quiet family trip, this probably isn’t the resort. If you’re going with friends and plan late nights, go for it.

Unforgettable memories at such a beautiful resort
What an amazing stay!! I was there to celebrate my brother’s wedding and couldn’t asked for a better memorable time. Manuel the bell boy always went above and beyond he ensured our bags were delivered to the room and that we got our room soon after we checked in, he was so friendly!! Sergio at the pool bar was so kind and always made sure that we had a drink, we loved Kevin at the French restaurant, and Romeo the pool drink waiter was so sweet!!
