Great!
Great resort. We had a wonderful butler Elias, he made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. The entire staff was incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking to travel to the Dominican Republic.

Dreams Onyx great vacation
Rating 5 This was our first trip to the Dominican and it exceeded our expectations. The resort is very clean ,staff exceptionally friendly and the beach is one of the better we have been to. Our butler Hector made navigating the resort and it’s amenities simple which gave us much more pool and beach time. He was available by text and responded quickly to any of our questions. Hector along with the rest of the staff has us looking to return in April. Highly recommend this resort

8 Amazing nights! We’ll be back!
Dreams review Just ended 8 beautiful nights! Check-in/Room: Yeuri at check in was helpful as we were deciding if we wanted to upgrade to preferred or not, and the type of room we were interested in. He let us take a peek at a couple different options before we made our choice which is great! We ended up choosing an ocean front in building six on the second floor. The particular room was not musty. It’s on the other ones we saw had a bit of a musty smell, so it clearly isn’t building dependent but more room to room based on previous reviews. We brought damp rid either way and still used it with almost a full bag from just a closet by the end of the week. Our room came with the most amazing Butler, Hector! He was so helpful and I quickly learned that you get out of your butler what you ask for, but he was on it back to check in with us each morning and give us the daily activities. We had him blow up rafts, give us rides, and set up dinner times. He did a few nice gestures rest of the week such as filling up our balcony Jacuzzi when we came home from golf with champagne and lovely rose petals with swan towels on the bed. He was a treat! Service: Housekeeping was amazing! Even if we left a little later in the morning, they always came back to tidy up our room and then again at night when we were out for dinner for turndown service. Our last three trips were from various parts of Mexico and we found the pace of the Dominican Republic is much slower from a service perspective and hospitality is overall better in Mexico. We found no one to be unfriendly or rude but Mexico was just more on top of service and speed. Food: We did partake in both resort restaurants and found habatchi to be our least favorite although still good. We would have rather done a repeat elsewhere bc there are some really good options: Dreams: french, steak. Breathless: steak, French Breakfast buffet is hands down better at breathless with more options even having access to preferred breakfast at dreams. Garabito at the omelette station at Breathlessly is awesome and fast! Dobert at blue water was the most attentive server we had. A few chin scratchers: -seaweed pick up midday without any seaweed on the beach. Maybe just a check to keep up on it but there’s sooo little this time of year. -Outside of asking for your room number, when picking up towels at the preferred club, no one ever checked to ensure that we were preferred anywhere else on the resort. We felt the upgrade was worth it for the view we got from our room and our Butler but ultimately no one was checking at preferred-only facilities. -beach vendors can get a bit much Excursions: Javier set up golf and was awesome with confirmations, pick ups. We played hard rock (20 mins/$190 pp) and Corales (45 mins) which was hands down one of theeeee most beautiful courses I’ve seen. Right on the ocean and an ocean price tag to boot $450 pp. Tropical treasures is the obvious massage your choice. No handling and great prices. $35 for an hour full body with other options too. Other shoutouts/tips: -get WhatsApp. A lot of ppl around the resort use it which can be helpful for excursions/pick ups etc. -bring a floaty and yeti cup and straw -sunscreen is expensive so bring extra -DR ice cream isn’t quite like USA ice cream -bring more tip money than you think -You’ll definitely get your steps in if you capitalize on both resorts, but there are also golf cart options to transport you as well. -January was very windy, but it wasn’t to the point where sand was blowing all over your stuff for your face and it was actually quite a nice reprieve from the heat of the sun -travel soap box is a perfect little container for your beach bag that fits your room key, a few dollars and a Chapstick -The door sensor on your patio door needs to be completely lined up for the AC to check on in your room which is similar to other dreams and secrets resorts. -surprising amount of smokers -Nelis at the preferred pool bar is top notch! -Angel gets a shout out! That dude was everywhere with his broom keeping floors tidy all over the resort!

Excellent vacation
What an amazing experience at the Dreams Onyx Preferred club! We went from Jan 21st to 28th. You also have access to most of the next door resort Breathless. Excellent food, excellent service. Great weather. Just wow! Will definitely go back.
