Workers
Arturo is one of the buffet workers who is an amazing waiter. I’d suggest asking for his section when you go for breakfast or lunch at the buffet. Arturo felt more like a friend the a worker.

Still have not worked out the new hotel problems, avoid and go somewhere else
Pros: Beautiful resort. The staff we interacted with were friendly and doing their best. The sit-down restaurants were actually very good. Cons: This place has potential, but the experience was frustrating from day one. We arrived on a WestJet bus and there was only one person working the front desk. It took over an hour just to check in, with a long line of unhappy guests. No welcome drink, which is something we’ve always had at other Dreams/Secrets resorts. The biggest issue is they’re clearly understaffed and constantly running out of things. At breakfast, simple stuff like eggs and bacon was often empty. The omelette and crepe stations had one person working each, so you’re looking at 20–30 minute waits. The café was probably the best backup option (great yogurt and sandwiches), but half the time they were out of everything. One day we finally got yogurt… and then were told they had no spoons. That pretty much sums it up. Same story across the resort: Ice cream shop is good if you go early… otherwise it’s picked over Pool bars have long lines, easily 10–15 minutes in the sun Staff are trying, but there just aren’t enough of them You end up spending a lot of your vacation waiting in lines. Portofino was another frustrating one. They make it adults-only inside, so families are pushed to the patio. Problem is, the patio gets slammed and the wait was over an hour, while the inside dining room sat half empty. Makes no sense. Entertainment was pretty minimal, and not well advertised. Even with the app, you kind of just stumble into things. The pool/beach situation also needs work. There aren’t enough chairs or towels, so people start saving spots early in the morning. They only enforced the “no saving chairs” rule after a few days once people complained. Biggest issue for me personally was the room. The AC is locked at 21, and the room stayed around 22 every night. It was too warm to sleep comfortably. Not being able to control your own thermostat at a resort like this feels like a cheap corner to cut. Overall: It’s a really nice looking resort with good food and good people, but it’s just not being run properly right now. Too many shortages, not enough staff, and a lot of small things that add up quickly. Easily the worst Dreams resort we’ve stayed at. We wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Excellent newer resort with great food and staff!
This resort is beautiful. It is new so it will take some years before the trees mature and you get more shaded areas. You are not able to swim in the ocean here as it’s too dangerous so that will likely prevent us from going back but this resort is top notch and the preferred club was excellent. The staff is amazing and so is the food.

Nice beach, quiet, lots of lineups
The pros: -Very nice rooms. Comfortable beds with nice bedding and good air conditioning and quiet -You could enjoy peaceful morning walks with miles of beaches and listen to the waves all night -Lots to do for kids and swim out rooms -Great cafe -no restaurant reservations required -good food with lots of variety -variety of channels on tv The cons: -check in wasn’t friendly or helpful. Not a great first impression -lineups everywhere. At restaurants, the omelette bar, smoothie bar, snack bar, any bar🙄 -the situation with people reserving pool chairs was out of control. Towels were out at 6:00 am and that left people without chairs or umbrellas. Some who felt entitled complained to pool staff who then scrambled to satisfy them. They seriously need to address this issue as it really took away from the fun -drinks were very sugary, not great quality -not environmentally conscious. Why not have filtered water dispensers instead of all the plastic?

3 Star at Best
Definitely not up to par with other secrets and dreams resorts in the country. Some great staff but the resort is so understaffed that they are overwhelmed. Food was underwhelming and not sure we had a hot meal. Still nice weather and by the beach so made the best of it. Wouldn’t spend on preferred club the benefits here are not worth it.
