Great family resort!
Dreams Estrella Del Mar is a beautiful resort! The pools and water slides are perfect for families with kids of all ages. This was our second trip. We were here last May. The staff is very helpful and fun. We had a blast doing water aerobics with Joel and Monica. They both made us feel like family and kept us laughing! Our poolside waiter, Marcos was friendly and on top of it with the drinks. The restaurants have good food but I would brush up on your Spanish if you have any food allergies. They were very accommodating regarding my gluten allergy but there was a bit of a language barrier if you had questions about anything outside of the normal ordering protocol. We really enjoy this resort and plan to return with our kids and grandkids!

A good time.
This is our second time back at this resort and we will come back again. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Our pool waiter Marcos was awesome. He was always making sure that everything was good and if we needed anything. Joel and Monique were awesome at pool entertainment. The facility is very nice but does need some minor cleanup. The rooms are the same. Very nice but need some paint/caulking cleaned up. The only complaint I would have is there is more of a language barrier in the restaurants then we are used to. I know that we are in their country and we should know some Spanish and we do, but we got a lot of blank stares when asking about gluten issues for my wife. Besides that, everything was very good.

Bad experience for day pass and golf.
The staff was rude. My family bought the day passes and a hotel room for the day while I went golfing. When I returned to the dreams after golfing the hotel room just became available at 3pm, even though the hotel was empty. I did not have a day pass but wanted to sit with them until our transportation arrived at 4pm. They would not allow me on hotel property or into the room since I was not on the reservation. Would not do this again, I would not use this hotel. FYI the dreams hotel is separate from the the Estrella Del Mar golf course nearby.

Great place to unwind while being taken care of
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this new and beautiful property! During our stay, we were able to eat at every restaurant and use all of the amenities on the property including the gym, spa, waterslides, lazy river, cabanas, and preferred areas. Overall, our time was wonderful. We received exceptional service from Mark (butler extraordinaire), Abel and Marcos (pool service), Condoe (chef who accommodated my allergies at every meal), and Geřardo (UVC concierge). With that being said, there wasn’t anyone who didn’t treat us very well. The food and drinks were amazing! The cabanas are different from other Dreams/Secrets resorts, so I recommend checking them out before booking. The gym was clean with a great balance of equipment. The spa was beautiful, and the services I received were on par with other spas I have been to. The hydrotherapy journey is outside, so I recommend going early to avoid the heat or bringing a hat, if this is something you like to do.
