  Not a five star experience

  This should not be rated as a five-star hotel. We experienced issues with the toilet, power outlets, and other facilities in the room. One evening, we had to wait more than two hours for our food at one of the à la carte restaurants, despite having small children with us. About half of the staff seemed unmotivated, were not particularly service-minded, and gave the impression that they hated their jobs. However, it is important to mention that some staff members were absolutely lovely. Giselle, Hugo, and Daniela at the buffet restaurant were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. If all the staff had shown the same positive attitude and level of service as these three (and a couple of others), the service experience would easily have been 5/5.

  Very disappointed

  Rooms and public restrooms need to be updated. AC did not work in many of my family’s rooms and the water was off in our second morning being there.

  Starvation diet for vegetarians!

  Nice snorkeling. Terrible food. As a vegetarian, you only have room service for any protein option— veggie burger. Lunch and dinner options for vegetarians are basically a rotation of rice and pasta. Bring your own protein bars, powders or meal supplements. The operations team does not accommodate vegetarians.

  RUN!! Don't stay at Dreams Curacao!

  DO NOT stay in the regular rooms or suites. Absolutely terrible! The Bungalows were the only updated and clean areas. The rest of the hotel was like a $100 truck stop Motel. ABSOLUTE terrible! Some didn't have working air or hot water, no shower curtain. dirty walls and shower area. It was really bad.

  We stayed at the Dreams Curaçao Spa and Casino Resort from September 19–26, 2026, for our annual extended family vacation of ten people. My immediate family (my husband, our two children, and I) booked a standard double room. When we arrived, no one greeted us or directed us to the front desk. Once we reached our room, we discovered that the air conditioner was not working. We requested to be moved to a room with functioning air conditioning, but were told the only available option was an upgraded room that would cost approximately $700 for the remaining seven nights. At sevenmonths pregnant and traveling with two small children, the only solution offered to us was a fan. The open buffet dining area and barefoot grill were equally unhygienic. The dining area was overrun by flying birds and flies eating from exposed food, and there were no preventative measures in place, such as fly fans and no available staff to clean tables. The tables at barefoot grill were consistently contaminated with pigeon droppings. No staff in sight to clean the table and chairs. And no place to take your food because poolside areas did not have tables and the sign prohibited food. We quickly learned that everything was self-serve. The tables in the buffet area were unkept and rarely stocked with utensils. With no staff in sight, guests were left no choice but to take utensils from select few tables. On day 3, both my mother and aunt were ill with food poisoning for the remaining week of our trip. This was later confirmed by an ER visit upon arriving home in Chicago and a call from IDPH (Illinois department of public health) wanting to know where we traveled and what they ate. Our trip was overshadowed by intense anxiety regarding the health of two of our family members, as well as the constant fear that others would fall ill. As a result, we didn't go on any excursions for the first time. We stayed by their side constantly and became deeply fearful of eating any of the food. After dealing with so many disappointing issues, I’ve shortened this review into bullet points and provided photos to illustrate them. • Hotel room 429 had a missing desk chair and corner accent chair • Room 110 had a loose toilet seat that was “fixed” with white paste that did not secure the toilet seat • Food left outside hotel rooms and tables outside of elevator for 24 hours • Bars closed due to lack of staffing • The golf cart driver mentioned she restarted working for the company (the day before) after being begged to work for them again because they were desperate for staff • Everything was self-serve • Not enough staff at the buffet to weigh tables • Due to lack of staff, guests at the buffet were forced to take utensils from other tables and serve their own drinks • The cups used at the bar to make drinks were soaked in soap water in the sink and occasionally washed with a scrub by the bar tenders • Quality of drinks were awful! Bartenders were inexperienced and could not put together a basic drink • Room 120 was not consistently cleaned or re-stocked with toiletries • Despite asking when restaurants are open to formulate a plan for dinner, Thursday all restaurants closed except Oceana because without warning the hotel used barefoot grill to cook out • Mold appearing spots on umbrellas at poolside • Bathrooms near buffet smelled of sewer, were unkept with garbage’s full of trash due to a sign that states not to flush toilet paper down the toilet • Room 227 had loose bathroom knobs • The pool was consistently cloudy and not maintained • Common answers to our questions were “I don’t know” or “we don’t have that” It is crucial to note that our experience was not an isolated incident; there was a widespread uproar among the guests, many of whom were actively lodging similar complaints about the exact same systemic failures. So much so that guests were transferred to sister hotel Zoetry due to lack of functional hotel rooms air conditioning and overall functionality of hotel and food safety.
