Disappointing Stay: Unmet Promises, Poor Service, and Deceptive Practices

Save yourself the hassle and heed the negative reviews. From the moment we checked in, the experience was disappointing. Despite our reservation clearly indicating that we needed a cot for our six-month-old, the hotel failed to provide one, claiming they were "sold out." Yet, another staff member mentioned that the hotel wasn’t fully booked, making this oversight even more frustrating. The bathrooms were poorly maintained, with a pervasive mold smell. Drop-down ceilings in the shower areas held layers of dust and grime, and we experienced repeated flooding issues with the toilets. Security was a concern as well—the safes were unreliable, opening with any code variation. Dining was equally unpleasant. The food quality was just passable, but expect to wait over two hours for a meal at any restaurant. Reservations required purchasing bottled wine, and we were often misled by the excursion staff. We booked an outing on the promise of meals, an open bar at the beach, and a family-friendly environment, but none of these promises were met. We ended up paying extra for basic amenities and left feeling deceived. The staff seemed disengaged, with little willingness to assist unless tipped—a disappointing approach that extended from bellhops to restaurant and cleaning staff. Our room was often left uncleaned, and towels were consistently in short supply, both at the pool and in our room. In short, this experience was a complete waste of money. We expected a relaxing stay but were left deeply dissatisfied with nearly every aspect of the trip.

    Birthday fail towel shortage

I would not book this resort if you’re celebrating your birthday. They don’t set anything up even when the booking requests it. Unacceptable to run out of bath towels in a resort for two days and to bring me pool towels instead. After, asking for towels for 8 hours 4 different times. Speak to management only you will get no where with regular employees. Not so friendly staff. Ask for everything you paid for because they will not inform you. Just don’t book this place you will be disappointed. If you do book this location make sure there is no wedding during the days your there because all the events get cancelled and there’s no activities.

Don't go there until they manage the place better.

The resort is beautiful. My room was clean, however the toilet did have a small leak. Knowing that they probably wouldn't do anything, I didn't bother to even report it. Whenever you ask an employee to do something, they shake their head, walk away, and nothing is ever done. Towels were hard to come by, the air in the room wasn't working properly, the buffet ran out of dishes, food and they didn't even walk around and give you drinks. You had to get everything yourself... even utensils, they didn't properly replace tables with basic things like glasses. The mosquitos are out of control and when the restaurant ran out of bug spray they could care less. So I went to the front desk to ask for some, and she sent me to someone else (who I think was the manager). She told me she didn't have any, I told her the gift shop had some and she should go get it. She told me I had to go there and buy it myself. I told her no way, it's their responsibility to make their guests comfortable. After being told not to yell at her, she got up and walked 4 feet and grabbed a bottle of bug spray that she initially told me she didn't have. Not only do they not do anything, they lie. They still haven't fixed the elevator. The staff isn't the friendlies, although some are very friendly but most aren't. The food was tasty, however you had to get on line or you have to wait. They don't do reservations, however, we did see two tables in the Oceana had to signs saying 'RESERVED". We were supposed to get top shelf liquor, but they only had that in the "preferred" member's area. The beach was beautiful, but the pool needed cleaning. They need new management. Someone to teach them how to treat their customers. Everyone we talked to there said they would never come back. It's really sad, because it is a very beautiful place.

    Great views and snorkeling

Great ocean views from rooms. Pool and private beach areas are small but great for snorkeling. Restraunt experinces were very good. (Recommed insect repellant for evening dining, moquitos like eating at dusk too.) Unexperienced bartender staff.

Very bad hotel, they only focus on Unlimited Vacation.

This hotel is definitely is 2 stars and NOT a 5 stars hotel. The check in staff are not a friendly, only one elevator working for the entire hotel. The stairs is disgusting and dark. At the buffet we never been served with any of the staff, we get our own water and they never remove your dirty plates. Birds eating from the buffet, one day one of the worker bring french fries and he use his hand to divide them to 2 trays. 90% of the chairs at pool are broken and dirty. 3 times we had no towels in the rooms. The food is below average and the alcohol is a local not a good names.
