It is definitely not a 5 star resort and is not comparable to any other Dreams resorts that I have stayed at. Wish I would have done my homework better before I left. Truly was a major disappointment…. Never heard of so many people disappointed in a resort before.
Not What We Expected
Hi- I never leave reviews or bad ones at that, but this is needed. I booked this trip last year for my husband, sister and her significant other. We were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, which did not get acknowledged by the resort at all. When we arrived, we were greeted by the staff, our rooms were not even ready when we arrived, we had to wait. We have been flying for 13 hours on top of this. I I spent a lot of money on this trip and we did not use the all inclusive as it should have been used. After the first night. at the resort, it was an unspoken rule, we would no longer be eating there. We walked to other restaurants and spent more money, we took cabs to the town to eat. So, on top of the money spent on this very expensive trip, more money was spent on food because the food there is horrendous. The service is very subpar, they seem as if they do not want to be there and it feels almost as if we are bother to them. Now, for this amount of money spent I would have paid to stay at the Marriott, which is next door, or even Sandals. This trip was essentially ruined to a point due to the disappointment and more money spent that was not anticipated. If someone is paying thousands of dollars for a resort, it better be worth thousands of dollars. I am super disappointed and was not happy when we were there. It almost ruined the trip.
This DREAM was unfortunately a NIGHTMARE
First I would like to say, I'm a Travel Agent and traveled with a group I booked and the experience was a complete nightmare .. roaches in the bedroom roaches in the dining area on the table; mold in the bathroom sinks (this was my room); dirty towels left from previous guest (for 2 days) which tells me the cleaning staff did not clean the room; video of one of the guests arriving (because we typically take a video of entering our rooms and post on social media) the bed was disturbed as if someone was in the room previously; sheets not changed on the bed most likely from previous guest - red feathers was underneath the bedding arriving at breakfast - majority of the food wasn't replenished in a timely manner and this was early mornings (9:30am/10am); I had two guests that paid Preferred Club prices and wasn't told what that included upon arrival. They were unable to tell the difference in their room from mine. Only 2 of my guests received King beds. I understand that bedding is based on availability upon arrival, however people who arrived after us received King beds. out of the 8 guests that traveled with me, at least 3 of them didn't have clean towels for 3 days; no pool towels available at the pool; no tablet in my room to order room service; noone answers the phone when you try to call; Everyone just seemed unhappy, no smiles, no greetings just blah :( I asked for decorations before arrival, day of arrival, day after arrival to be added to my client in Room 235 originally room 439 never received that. She's the one that paid for PREFERRED CLUB. One evening the group went to the Italian restaurant for dinner. We arrived at 6:40pm, it took over 2 hours for us to get our food, while everyone that came after us was served promptly. I ordered a cake that was supposed to be delivered to her room on a certain day at a certain time. It didn't happen. Zayed had to personally deliver the cake after I went back to him and told him the cake didn't make it to her room. This DREAM unfortunately was a NIGHTMARE :(
Resort needs to updated
I’ve stayed at a few Dreams hotels and this one by far needs to be updated. My room was fairly okay on the 5th floor. However my friends were given a room on the fourth floor that had a ton of cosmetic issues. No lock on the patio door or on a chain on the main door, chair was peeling, scuff marks on then walls etc. The hallways of the resort as well looks outdated and dark. The seafood restaurant was good however we stood there for over 15 min without being greeted and the staff just looked at us.
A little run down and food choices limited
This is resort is nice. Even though it was supposedly remodeled a few years ago it shows its wear. By far the biggest issue was food service - room service usually took 1.5-2 hours despite it saying 45 minutes. The app always seemed to have the wrong menu. Also the buffet restaurant was never open for dinner any time we were there. Which is disappointing because it severely narrowed food choices to the restaurants that were open. Never an issue at any time finding a lounger at he beach. People definitely put out towels at the pool but appeared they were at the pool as well. Would visit curacao again, but I’d stay elsewhere.
