Much better than I expected.........
First of all, me expectations for airport hotels is pretty low to begin with - but I was pleasantly surprised at the overall experience at this hotel. PROS: Hotel room was immaculately clean - sheets and towels and bedding all looked new. Bathroom was spotless and well equipped. Check-in and check-out process went very quickly and smoothly Hotel Management was on hand in the morning at check-out to oversee the process and intervene if necessary - and to make you feel welcome. Lobby service counter available for coffee/doughnuts as well as a small convenience store for grab-and-go items. Nicely stocked. CONS: Rooms slightly dated but again, immaculately clean!!! and everything in good working order. Location on a side street that was in a slightly sketchy area but good security once inside the hotel.

Fantastic front desk team, thanks Kathy!
I arrived late in the evening after a few delayed flights. Kathy at the front was FANTASTIC. I was having a rough day, but she was able to cheer me up. She explained everything I needed to know about the hotel. Though it’s never fun to pay for parking, I appreciated having a space to come back to given the limited parking in the area. Great stay overall!

House of Horrors
Someone with the room card opened my door at 10:20 PM without knocking first. He/she was unable to get in as I had the door guard on, then left without a word. I called the front desk clerk but she could not tell me who did it and why. I left a note at the front desk upon checking out next morning. The operations manager of the hotel emailed me seven hours later saying they are still checking.....

Plane noise
We stayed here for one night before a flight. In most respects, it was perfectly adequate for one night. I checked in on the app and requested that my phone be set up as the mobile key. I've done this a number of times at other Marriott hotels. This allows you to skip front desk check in. However, my phone was never enabled as a key and I had to go to the front desk. The employee seemed very unconcerned. It was not that much of an inconvenience, but just annoying. If you offer mobile keys, Marriott, they should work. The bigger problem is that you hear the planes. We both slept poorly due to this. We usually stay at the Hyatt Regency (did not stay there this time in support of striking hotel workers) where you do NOT hear plane noise. We will not return.

Excellent LAX Hotel
Excellent hotel. Better than I expected. We stayed here one night for an early departure. Super clean room, modern, renovated, and bright. Great front desk staff - super helpful and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.
