Beautiful beach location and more
Had a wonderful business trip to San Juan and my hotel experience at Caribe Hilton was one of the primary reasons it was such a positive experience. The location of the property, the condition of the public spaces and the rooms are excellent. The pool areas and the ocean lagoon are special and provide ample opportunity for socializing. The views are relaxing. I enjoy both the Ice Cream Coffee Shop and the Starbucks. The Mojitos Bar is overpriced. The central location made it easy to get to Old San Juan and easy to get to the airport. I liked walking to the restaurants in Condado area. Much of the staff was not anticipatory, so there was some waiting to be done, but four examples stood out - bartenders at the expansive lobby bar were exceptional and made the best Pina Colada I’ve ever had. The towel team at the pool shack were always attentive and cheerful. The housekeeping teams were truly amazing and efficient. The gentleman at Concierge was so helpful in securing rare reservations in an increasingly impressive culinary scene. I would recommend staying here for future visits. The quality is high and the value is excellent. Good shops in the promenade area and always security presence for extra reassurance. But I always felt safe in San Juan.

Beautiful resort and friendly staff
A beautiful tropical resort. I will say the staff was friendly and helpful. I was not expecting our stay to be inexpensive, but I was a bit surprised at some of the fees. We were charged 50 cents a day for maid service, even though they did not service the room each day. We paid $8 for valet laundry and were then charged a bellman fee of $5.25 for them to deliver the clean laundry to the room. As expected, the food at the hotel restaurants was expensive but was good. We ate breakfast each morning at Nectar. The continental breakfast buffet was more than enough food for us. We stayed in a Junior Suite since my husband was trying to get a little work done while I attended a conference. It was very spacious, with a large bathroom. The AC didn't seem to be very effective. It ran constantly, and although it was cool, the room still felt very damp. The bathroom could have used some additional towel racks; there was no place to hang a wet towel, nor was there any place to hang a wet bathing suit. The worst thing was the shower's water pressure; it was pathetic. Someone with thick hair would have been hard-pressed to use this shower. Part of the problem is how the shower is designed, where you pull the plunger from the tub faucet to make it go to the shower. So much water continues to come out of the tub faucet; it's no wonder the shower doesn't have much pressure. Plus, and this is an assumption, most hotels use low-flow shower heads. Lastly, and this is a pet peeve of mine, the tub dripped constantly! You could not turn the water completely off. Hotels, in general, want to make us believe they are doing everything they can to preserve the environment and save water, yet in the majority of the hotels I have been in, the faucet in the tubs, showers, or sinks drip water. Fixing these leaks is probably the easiest thing that we can do to conserve water, and it's done the least. As for the rest of the hotel, it's a beautiful resort, although there are places where it's age does show. The pool is nice (although it needs a little work), and the grounds are lovely. The beach area is also quite nice. I did not go to the spa or the tennis courts. And lastly, the convention area needs a lot of work. From leaking roofs and windows (I mean serious leaks) to multiple toilets in the ladies' room being out of order.

PR Mother’s Day vacation
I love the location of this Hotel and It’s proximity to restaurants and other locations. This is my second time staying here. Ocean view room was awesome! Housekeeping did a nice job with the room. Excellent food and service at Lola’s Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant. Best pina coladas, delicious! Bagua’s servers need improvement and beach chairs should be retired and upgraded. Overall this hotel was very good and I recommend it.
