Overall Good Experience
Travelled here with our young adult children and in-laws over the week of Christmas. Overall, this is a great resort, but for me there were a one small thingthat bothered me. Arrived after a ~45 minute ride from the Punta Cana airport. We arrived around 2.30pm and our 3 rooms were ready. Off to an excellent start! Check in process was quick and easy. One odd thing that I hadn't ever experienced before was that after check-in the bell hop pointed us in the direction of our room and said the bags would follow shortly. So we were left to find our rooms on our own. Not a big deal, as the resort is not big so getting to our rooms was easy. Just always been taken to our rooms with the bell hop. No big deal. We had 3 rooms. 1160, 1220, 1302. The rooms were all large, clean and comfortable. I've seen reviews saying the furniture and decor are a bit dated and I cannot argue, but for me I couldn't really care less. As long as it's all functional and clean, I'm typically good to go. The daily room cleaning was excellent; however, the mini fridge restocking was pretty hit or miss for some reason. We beach was nice to walk on and the sargassum was very minimal so that was great. We are not really a beach family, so our days were spent at the main pool. This is a very large pool. One end is quieter and the other end with the swim up bar is livelier with music playing and activities. The pool was clean and we saw staff vacuuming the pool, etc every day. The first few days at the resort did not seem busy, but closer to Christmas there seemed to be a noticeable influx of guests. This resulted in not enough pool chairs for everyone. So if you weren't out early (before 10am ish) finding a chair was difficult. There are signs posted not to "reserve" chairs with a towel, etc., but that rule was not enforced while we were there. This resulted in a confrontation between some guests that we witnessed. The buffet along with all the restaurants were excellent. We did not have a bad meal, and my daughter who is gluten free was helped by the restaurant concierge during meals and had lots of meal options. My only gripe with the resort and particularly with the location of a couple of our rooms, especially 1302 was that if you are looking for a quiet night in the room before bed (if you go to bed before 11pm) is that the nightly entertainment is very loud. Room 1302 is directly across from the outdoor theatre where most nightly shows occur and there is zero chance you will sleep before 11pm. The music is thumping! One night room 1220 experienced this as well as the nightly show was outside of that room at the "party" pool. In general, I'd say this is more of a lively hotel especially at night, so if you are looking for a quiet night in after a day in the sun request a room closer to the beach. Daytime will be louder by those rooms, but would be much more quiet after dinner. Overall, this is an excellent resort. Staff were extremely friendly. Have to give a special thank-you to Gregory (Restaurant Concierge) for helping my daughter with her gluten free meal options.

Good trip upbeat and fun
This place was very good. More like a 4.25. They keep the place spotless and are constantly cleaning. The pools were hopping and a lot of fun. The beach area was nice but the water was a bit choppy. The food was not bad - best being the breakfast which was overwhelming. I am a self proclaimed foodie and found all other options to be 3 out of 5. We went over to Dreams but didn’t like the vibe with it being more family and kid oriented. The drinks are 3.75/4 depending on which bar they were purchased. The coffee shop was a 5 with the vanilla iced coffee the best -Tip: do not get coffee at the breakfast buffet it was the worse coffee ever. Front desk staff was very helpful and people get us drinks by the pool were always around. Shows were fun - Santa was at the pool on Christmas!

So much fun!!
Breathless was great! We had the Exhale Club....but I'm not really sure exactly what the advantages really were. I guess the rooms are in buildings closer to the beach, and some little extras in the room. There are no bracelts...so anybody could really walk through and get the privileges easily. Exhale doesn't give you the Preferred Club next door at Onyx...but we had no issues just walking in to the Preferred pool or bars...nobody ever asked. Onyx seems to be a little more updated...Breathless has been updated....but it'll need a re-vamp soon to keep it's "5 Star" rating. Especially the rooms. There were pretty bare. Nice, but bare. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating! Our concierge was Gi Gi....she was so friendly and fun!! The staff in the Exhale lounge were awesome too!! Big thanks to Franchely, Zvlenny, Vianny, Dania, and Felipe...you were all so fun and always had our espresso martinis and Corona ready!! :) Wilkin at the beach bar and Felix at the pool went above and beyond!! They both made sure we had ice buckets full of our beer of choice at all times! The beach was really nice. Some areas are calmer and cleaner than others...you didn't have to walk far to find a great spot. When you walk out of the resort to the beach, turn left and walk for about 5-7 mins. There's a place called "Tropical Treasures" (or something like that), it's a store...but more importantly they offer massages overlooking the beach!! $50USD for a 1 hour, deep tissue massage!! And they were GREAT!! Went several days! Don't get caught with the people just before the building...be sure to get to the blue concrete wall and walk up the side stairs on the far side of the building! Totally worth it!! Anywhere you go...you can always find things that need improvement, or that aren't perfect. Overall, we had a great trip!! :) I would recommend!
