AMAZING. Best vacation ever!
Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars needs their head examined. The food is PHENOMENAL, and we joked they had Bobby Flay locked up out back. Yep..that good. We did our 10 year vow renewal and didn't need to worry about a thing...all handled, no stress, and the personal service by Jenny and the rest o the staff was amazing. If you are looking for the Ritz...Bolongo is not for you. If you are looking for a laid back, stress free, clean comfortable place that treats you like family...Bolongo is calling your name!

Needs some work…
First off shouts out to Eric, Suzann, David, Amber, Daniel, 007, Kalika., and Wendy. They were all Very helpful, and personable. Areas of improvement….. The communication- the message from one staff member to the other was not uniform. We were not told until our first nights dinner that apart of the all inclusive option. We were untitled to get a free bottle of wine with every dinner. It wasn’t until Suzanne our waitress informed us. My boyfriend doesn’t eat meat. we were told by some of the wait staff that if you added meat to your salads. It was considered an entree and some didn’t make a big deal out of it at all. Something also to note, that I wasn’t really happy about. The pool bar closes at 6pm you cannot be in the pool and be served a drink after 6pm. The front desk staff needs a little more enthusiasm, when we first arrived we asked the attendant where are some good places to go/eat and do. She shrugged her shoulders. We knew going into our stay that the rooms were outdated. So we were totally prepared for that. The SHOWERS were entirely too SMALL!!!. You had to stand outside of the shower In order to wash your legs and lower body. In order to get the temperature warm you had to run the shower for 30 mins prior to getting in. There needs to be at minimum an adjustable shower head and/or a bench that can be used while in the shower. The food was good but the selection was limited. We had the same menu for breakfast, lunch and Dinner with only specials for dinner. There were little to no none meat options for all meals. The gym- My boyfriend and I had plans to get a decent workout in daily. When we asked about where the gym was l. we were escorted to an old room that had been made into a gym. The room was musty and dark. The treadmill didn’t work. It looked as if it was a major afterthought. Needless to say we didn’t workout. The all inclusive pulls you in. But, the lack of amenities and lack of that “all inclusive feel” made you want to check in elsewhere.

Nice vacation for the overall cost!
Visited for a short, three night vacation, for a quick get away! The resort met our expectations based on what we paid. This isn’t a 5 star facility, just a small quaint mini resort tucked away in a nice bay. We paid for the all inclusive, which fit for our length of stay. Food was GREAT and the choices for mixed drinks and beer were countless. The rooms are a little dated. The room we were in needed a new mattress since the springs were shot. Service was great but they were short-staffed in the mornings. Credit to the hostess who made sure we got fed before needing to leave for an excursion. Overall, as the saying goes, “You get what you pay for” and we felt it met our expectations for the cost. Wish we were there for the rum hunt!

Disappointment several times over
We are in our early 60s - this wasn’t our first travel. Short & to the point ref Bolongo only: - View…. Lovely - Food ….. average at best - Bed ……sags badly - Shower: scale of 1-10……a ‘2’ - very little water pressure - Beach: sea wood all day everyday. - Pool: lounge chairs for only 6 couples - several excursions cancelled due to lack of participation - Value (scale 1-10) ……. 2 - Resort overall very run down
