Will not be returning
SERVER ATTITUDES: So many of the servers seemed pissed to be there. Would often not even acknowledge they heard me, seemed irritated when I would ask for anything, and had STANK face all the time. Taneisha's frustration in general was palpable even though I am not sure she ever directly was my server. One of the owners was one time playfully helping her clear a table because they were short staffed, and he made a joke that he would take care of it for her, and she was SO visibly irritated by it that she rolled her eyes and said nothing. She made the guests at the table feel uncomfortable. As a Director of Operations myself, I would NEVER tolerate my staff behaving in a way that made the guests feel uncomfortable. Also, in general, there was no sense of urgency. Most servers seemed uninterested to get the order and many made me feel uncomfortable even flagging them down. That said, there were a few servers who interacted pleasantly: Jahniquequa always had a smile, the waitress with the knee brace was always so friendly and informative, and a couple others were also good. THE FOOD: concept was always good, but execution was lacking. The food was either too bland or too salty, everything always came out lukewarm. Presentation was terrible. Portions were too big. Salad always came out lukewarm instead of crisp/cold, caesar salads came out wilted and DRENCHED in too much dressing. The lobster was good most nights. Steak was not good. Pan fried snapper was served as a filet that looked like it had been rolled in the sand. The fish dishes tasted like previously frozen fish. When ordering seafood on an island, I'd expect better. THE ROOMS: bed was uncomfortable and decor was dated, but housekeeping ran a tight ship and always cleaned the floors well and made the bed up nice. LOCATION: nice and calm waters on most days, seaweed was only an issue on some days but they did what they could to quickly address it, I did see a turtle and some fish, though there are much nicer beaches just a few minute drive in either direction. Not the bluest waters or whitest sand, but was good enough to spend a couple days around the grounds. OVERALL: I spent 12 nights at Bolongo and overall had no regrets. Would I book there again? Probably not. While the all inclusive a la carte idea was lovely, the food was subpar, the service in Oasis was overall terrible, the bartenders were cool but stretched thin, rooms were dated, beds were obviously cheap ones and the overall vibe was not ideal. SUGGESTIONS TO MANAGEMENT: Train your team. Hire people who understand and are meant to work in customer service. If they don't like their job, aren't good at it or can't even fake it with a smile, maybe some changes need to be made. Tables should be cleaned with cleaning spray after each guest leaves. I saw multiple instances where leftover wet napkins that were already on the table were used to "wipe down" the table for the next guest. Where is the sanitizer? Have more than one bartender on tap to prevent them being overworked and a long wait for customers. Spend some capex funds on updating the rooms. The red drapes and strange wall paintings ought to go. Should be brighter, beachy colors and paintings that make sense for a beach location. Larger windows showing the beautiful view would also be amazing. Rooms are too dark, get brighter and more light options, maybe lamps that shoot the light upwards. Spend money on beds and bed covers. The whole guest experience can change with plush bedding. Hire a food consultant to come in and tweak the menu options, consider the freshness of the food source where you are getting the goods, how you store it in the kitchen and while preparing, how quickly it gets out to the consumer, temperature of veggies and meats and all things when they get to the table, portions and flavor combinations that make sense. My dissatisfaction with the food options would be the biggest reason I would not return. Noteworthy staff: 007: easy going bartender, love when he sings while he's making drinks. Jonathan: was so attentive on the beach, kind to my son and to me, showed he was happy to help in whatever way he could. Waitress who was wearing a knee brace: Can't remember her name, starts with an S i think, she was so genuinely helpful and informative and playful with my kid Trouble: always smiling and making people feel calm. So good to my kid Restaurant Manager/Hostess (Female): so professional, classy and informative. Could tell she came from the Ritz. Manager (Male): I think his name was David. Was attentive when I complained that another guest was smoking a weed pen right next to my 3 year old and resolved the issue right away. Also was responsive when I alerted him that the cereal given to us in the morning was months expired. Front Desk manager (Linda): professional, classy, calm, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Beautiful resort, great staff, delicious food and drinks!
We had a wonderful honeymoon at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort! We loved the laid-back atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, availability of water sports and beach activities, and the excellent food and drinks. We truly enjoyed the simplicity of the resort - we had everything we needed, and had access to lots of fun things to do and places to go, a short taxi ride away. We definitely feel like we got exceptional value for our money. Before I booked my trip, I saw reviews saying the resort needs to update the room design and decor a bit. True, it is a bit dated, but we found it charming and consistent with the resort's character, so it really didn't bother us at all. Everything was functional, clean, and comfortable, so we were still happy with our stay and plan to go back for another vacation as soon as we can!

Do not believe the positive reviews
Don't believe the reviews. This is an old, poorly-maintained, bad Motel 6 impersonator. The service is slow, it's a depressing place, and feels dirty. Way overpriced for what it is.

Fantastic All-Inclusive Experience!
This was our first all-inclusive experience and it was fantastic! We loved the family-owned vibe, David was always checking in with us seeing how we were liking everything. We are both in the service industry and the guest service impressed us from start to finish! The servers and bartenders were so friendly! They remembered us and our room number, plus always said hello with a smile! It really made the week even better. The food and drinks were 10/10. We loved everything at both Oasis and Iggies! Such great variety and quality! The resort itself is beautiful! We loved having the pool/swim-up pool bar or beach option. It was also never crazy busy in the pool, just a nice lively level of guests. The views are gorgeous! We did 3 boat activities on Heavenly Days: the sunset sail, half day sea turtle snorkeling and the Limeout trip on Saturday. The crew was excellent!! We love Erin, Wes, James & Caymen! The front desk was also so helpful with getting us taxis! We only had one hiccup which was our AC not working the best but we stayed cool with the fans. We will absolutely be back & recommend Bolongo Bay to friends!
