  Beach and ocean

  We knew, what to expect: amazing beach, beautiful ocean. A light breeze makes the air pleasant and not hot.

  Bavaro All Inclusive

  A lot of things to say here. We have stayed at a Barcelo in Aruba and in Mexico. This is the largest of the three. While there is feedback that the service isn't great, two things to consider. "Island Time" is a thing where they are on a different speed and it's definitely not New York. Remember you are on vacation, what's the rush? Second, if you aren't speaking Spanish, there will a language barrier. The staff had vacationers in equal parts Spanish, English, Russian and French. If you know a little Spanish, it will go a long way. They appreciate you trying. The buffet is definitely with Dominican flair. If you don't like Dominican food... Well, you chose to go to the Dominican so that's a bit odd. I stuck mostly to rum since we were in the DR and was happy with the quality and ratio of my beverages. If you are American, "say vino tinto" for red wine, not "vino rojo" as this caused some confusion. A couple of the dinners we reserved were ehh. The Italian place was decent. The seafood was ok. Steakhouse service didn't really listen or attempt to service. The hibachi and the Spanish tapas were fantastic. Luis Pina in La Fuente was an excellent and attentive server. Darlyn Vazquez and chef Wander in Kyoto were also equally amazing. Great work ethic and proud to be working hard. We did tip great service and occasionally the bar staff who were often overwhelmed by waving hands and many languages but they put in good effort. Only staff issue beyond the steakhouse service was the activities crew taking my 13 year old daughters phone to post reviews IN SPANISH about themselves (Faviola) That was unacceptable. We reported it to staff but didn't appear to go anywhere. We stayed in the Junior Suite. Ideal for a couple but for a family, the frosted shower and toilet door are a bit odd with me, my wife and 2 daughters. Jacuzzi tub on the balcony worked great. We lost power a few times but it was restored right away. A few unimportant items were broken (toilet paper holder and a plate on the jacuzzi). The beach is massive. While not the best beach we've visited, it was clean and there was plenty of room. The pools are huge. One pool was closed all but one day on our trip but there was plenty of room for all the swimmers. The resort is very big and isolated from the DR. You really can't get out without a plan and an Uber. We are from the Northeast US and I would be hesitant to driving on these roads. We planned to just relax so this fit the bill, only taking one excursion that picked us up from the hotel and returned us. I am not sure if I would go exploring with a family in the area.

  I love ir

  I liked it. I had been there before and had some issues. I want to mention that before arriving I had some questions and called; a very friendly receptionist answered and cleared them up. Later, when I needed something in the room, I called and the same guy, Jonathan Saldana, helped me; everything was sent quickly. It was worth coming back; I liked it.

  Great stay but….

  First time back since 2018. The steakhouse and Italian restaurants were very slow service wise. Mexican and 19th Hole were great. The hotel is starting to show signs of wear. The golf course condition is worse than I recall back in 2018. It was still a great trip and I will go back but it might be time for some TLC. The staff was very nice, especially at the golf course. Checking in was slower than I wanted but we are in the DR so that might just the way it is.
