The resort needs a little tuning up
I would like to preface this by saying we stayed in the palace section and were premier guests. We were a party of 20.. Being a premier guest gave us expedited check-in and a superior Oceanside room.. The rooms are outstanding, the only drawback is that when you put the shower on there is only a half glass enclosure and the floor is constantly wet! For the most part, the service was substandard, compared to other resorts. In other resorts, we got served poolside and on the beach. This does not happen here. Aesthetically, the compound is attractive, clean, and upscale Many of the employees seem unhappy and disinterested. Particularly in the buffet area. Many of the employees stand around talking to their friends, with little guidance or management They only come to life when they see the Dinero. One of the hardest things to find iced tea. You can ask a number of employees if they have iced tea, they have no idea what you are talking about. Communication is a big problem.. (Suggestion to staff ) It may be wise to put an iced tea dispenser along with the juices. The strongest restaurant by far was the French restaurant. The food was more than acceptable, service was outstanding. A big disappointment was the steakhouse. We had 20 people in our party, and we all asked for the steaks to be cooked differently. They all came out rare to blue the pools were enormous and there were ample chairs and chaise lounges available. Beach towels around a premium… Don't lose yours. I can truly say that the beach is probably one of the better beaches in Punta Cana, and I have been there eight times. Security is present . It is a safe environment If you are a golfer. The Lakes course is a Pete dye course in the ninth and 18th holes or his signature. They say the golf is free but you have to pay a substantial amount for the card, which is negotiable by how many rounds you will play. The pro shop help is outstanding and work with you. The outside manager is often confused and sometimes becomes obnoxious. Please keep in mind that they will store your clubs the course was in rough condition, particularly hole 4, tee boxes are often, patchy, and torn up. They attributed this to a broken sprinkler system and no rain However, the greens are in relatively good shape but are slow/medium with subtle breaks around the hole. The layout is more than interesting… Bring a lot of golf balls, water, and sand are prevalent

Worst experience ever!
Starting with the check in process, be ready to wait hours to check in. Employees seem to not care at all about anything. Poor service, flies everywhere, definitely not coming back. Rooms are poor maintained.

I will NEVER go back to this place.
Upon arrival of the resort we waited 2 hours in the lobby to check in. The lack of urgency to get things done was noticeable at the time, as it was everywhere else in the resort. Barcelo bavaro palace is a very big resort where you often need to take a trolley or cart to get around if you’re not staying near the main area. At a resort this size I felt like a number more then a guests as every encounter you have has no substance. I will not be going back to this place ever again and don’t recommend it to anyone else.

There is wat more resorts with excellent customer service. Please don’t let this one be your first stay at punta cana. They’re rude and you’ll last 1/2 in reception. There’s no answer to room service and there is no care for customers
