Beautiful Resort- Amazing Staff
The resort is beautiful. We visited the spa often and enjoyed the exclusive members only section of the beach. Bring bug spray for the mozzies at night. The food is not up to Karisma standards. Room service was lacking and the lunch bars were not enjoyable. The Asian restaurant was definitely the culinary highlight. Special thank you to Butlers Davita and Adrian, who made the whole stay spectacular! Shout out the Telica and Dave who make the beach even more enjoyable. The spa staff and manager Emily for taking such good care of us.

meh
we arrived at the resort around 4pm on a sunday. they seemed to be at half capacity but check-in still took about an hour. finally got to our ocean view family suite and it didn’t have an ocean view or balcony/terrace as advertised on their website and even their app they had us download at check-in. went through the whole thing with multiple members of staff/concierge. initial response was for us to wait until the next day to see what would open up but they weren’t willing to compensate for not providing what we paid for for the night. we spent easily an hour or more walking around the resort with customer service showing us available rooms for relocating — all of which were downgrades that we wouldn’t be compensated for. i finally contacted costco, who we booked through, and they said we should be receiving an upgrade, not the opposite. they advised us to stay with our original room, document everything, and dispute after checking out for a full refund. once customer service heard that, they miraculously offered us an ocean view honeymoon suite but only if we signed a waiver saying we wouldn’t request further compensation. fine. suite came with two bathrooms. shower head was broken in one and the mirror was broken in the other. there were no bathrobes (the initial lower tier room had them) and nothing in the minibar. overall, rooms are weathered but suffice. we were in building 2 which is an excellent location, however, extremely loud at night as all entertainment is held on the main deck until 10pm. i would advise against this building for anyone who goes to sleep early or even just wants to relax and watch something on tv — you won’t be able to hear it. the app never worked for us. we were told daily they would have someone fix it but it never worked. it’s great in theory. would’ve been so nice to have been able to order room service or mini bar refreshments from my phone but it never worked. they told us to use our room phone and that didn’t work either. we would get hung up on or it would just go to voicemail. we would have to visit the front desk to place any service requests. kind of unacceptable for what we paid to be here for a week. our AC unit stopped working and began pouring water out of it at 2:30am on our second night and you guessed it — had to walk down to the front desk in the middle of the night bc we had no other way of contacting anyone. really inconvenient and disappointing. we ordered room service one afternoon and were quoted 30-35 mins. at the 60 min mark, i had to call and was told it was on its way. showed up 5 mins later, lukewarm and not at all what we ordered. fish nuggets arrived as chicken nuggets (which aren’t even on the menu). they were good enough but i imagine a pescatarian wouldn’t have enjoyed biting into it thinking it was fish. they offered 3 dessert options and was told they were out of all but a brownie so we ordered 2 brownies that never showed up. the food in general is pretty subpar. buffets are best as soon as they open and breakfast is the same every day. italian restaurant is decent but, again, not five star. minibar wasn’t automatically refreshed daily, we had to call for water multiple times per day. they advertise snacks upon request but were told there are no snacks to be had. drinks are weak (seems to be the case at most AIs). some other gripes: taxi desk quoted us $20 per person for a ride to rick’s when everything i read online said it should’ve been $20 RT total. beach towels aren’t guaranteed. beach vendors/beggars really don’t quit. 5 days into our stay, we were contacted by our “personal concierge” that we didn’t know we had — turns out they were just trying to sell us on their prestige membership LOL GO FIGURE. despite all of this, the beach is really why we booked this place and it held up. most of the employees are lovely and the coffee is exceptional. the nightly entertainment was hit or miss — mostly corny but made for some laughs. as long as you adjust your expectations, you’ll be okay.

Azul Beach Resort, Negril, Jamaica is the best!!!
If you want a gorgeous white sand beach with all you could ask for in a resort then go to Azul Beach Resort, Negril, Jamaica!! This is my second visit in three months and Azul has now become my home away from home. The staff become family...including Jose (G. Mgr), Lorna (Resident Mgr), Martin, Jack and Nick who work at the beach activities center called Stanley's Sea Sports...they take you deep sea fishing, snorkeling, and sailing. The entertainment is superb run by Coco with his talented staff including Bonz and Anton. The food is fabulous and the suites are clean and to comfortable. The 285 room resort is located on one mile of the famous 7-mile beach.....soft sand, gentle, surf...amazing. I've traveled the world and will be back to Azul many more times to visit my new family!!!

Azul
The hotel was beautiful and kept very clean. The staff was friendly and nice. Was very disappointed with the services. There was no one to come around and serve you drinks at the pool or the beach. They didn’t have any fruit for the drinks, lemons, limes, etc.. the pool bar ran out of beer. Other bars ran out of different liquor. Their food was not very good and the Italian restaurant ran out of olive oil. The coffee was terrible. It was not the experience that I thought I was going to have. They have one good thing going for them is the location on seven mile beach.

I love the people but the experience was very generic and unmemorable.
Highlights: The beach is beautiful. The people, amazing! Christina, the bartender at the pool, exceptional. Martlin(I’m writing this wrong) the server at Ackee, legendary. Night shift security on the adult side end on 5/18, my man. Lowlights: Travel destinations are about 3 things for me…1. Food- very basic almost low level food quality. Upgrade the food options, please! That alone would add more business. Had a chicken patty on my last day though that was epic. Wasn’t available throughout. 2: Alcohol - I had a “premium” room. Put liquor in the room. 3. Room accommodations - the fact that breakfast was not available for room service was tragic. But maybe you’re still rebuilding after Covid which is understandable. Overall, I want to come back to Jamaica but will struggle to stay on a resort if the experience is generic.
