  Beautiful, wonderful 1 week stay at Azul! You will not find nicer staff anywhere else :)

  We just returned from this absolutely beautiful resort and absolutely LOVED our time here. We read reviews beforehand so didn't know what to expect but WOW! The first thing I want to note is how absolutely wonderful absolutely every single one of the staff members here is. From the cleaners, to the gardeners, the bar staff every single staff member was SO friendly and helpful and I doubt you can find nicer staff at any other resort! They really did make our stay amazing and we felt like royalty. We were also very surprised that room service is included for free! We have never had this before without incurring additional charges, so it was great to have tea, coffee and food delivered to our room especially when we arrived late at night and was exhausted. The beach - of course just wow. It is truly paradise, peaceful and just beautiful. The food was incredible, flavourful and plentiful! I loved the authentic cornmeal porridge, vegetable curry, pumpkin rice, and those patties - my goodness. We met many guests who repeatedly choose this hotel time and time again. If you are a very picky nitpicking type of person, you probably should not go there which says it all. i could not believe some of the negative reviews, if you are a very nitpicking type of person, you probably should not go there. We are incredibly grateful we picked this hotel, it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you SO much Azul for the most incredible week. We hope to come back again soon. x

  Loved the Jamaican Food and Patties!

  We have been to Jamaica many times, but we decided to try this Resort for the first time. Once we arrived, check-in was very quick and everyone was super friendly. They gave us a delicious welcome drink, and we immediately escorted to our room with our luggage. We had a swim up suite at the only building. They do not have an exclusive adult side. They have adult only buildings. I did not see any thing that would stop kids from going into the adult only building except a sign. We did not see very many kids during our stay. The most were seeing on the weekend,The Resort is very, very close to the beautiful beach. All the buildings are so close to the water you could throw a rock into the water. We loved that they have a an all Jamaican restaurant that is separate from the buffet. They have a few different restaurants available, which were all good. They also have an Asian restaurant that was very good. We were there only four nights so we didn’t get a chance to try all the restaurants. They have a buffet restaurant which always has a small sample of Jamaican local dishes along with other popular dishes. They have different theme nights with different foods every night. On Saturday night, it was a Jamaican theme. They had all the different Jamaican foods you could think of, including Oxtails! None of the restaurants require reservations. The Jamaican food in the buffet was more authentic than the Jamaican restaurant. We enjoy the specialty drinks and the appetizers the most in the Jamaican restaurant.They also have delicious beef patties, and smoothies at the coffee bar in the lobby. The Beef Patties are very popular and runs out quickly every day. The entertainment was very good and impressive. We love the Michael Jackson show and the fire show the best. They had a silent disco. That was really good. White night was on Sunday and it was fun. They had a one-man band that was very good and had everyone singing and dancing to all the popular songs. The Resort was not very crowded. Friday and Saturday the crowd picked up a little. The Resort has many swim up bars. All the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Anytime you’re walking around The Resort they would speak to you and ask you did you need anything. I enjoy the entertainment staff the most. They are the ones that entertain you at the pool and host the shows and things like that. They were the best and most helpful. I recall I was at the towel and there was no one there. Two of the entertainment staff walked by and asked me how I was doing and did I need anything? Since it was no one there, they briefly look to see if they could find someone and seconds later they went into the booth and found me some towels. They were always helpful throughout our stay. We were surprised to see a dedicated nightclub and lounge at the resort. There is no mention of it on the website. It was open every night and the music was good. It wasn’t very crowded and I don’t think many people knew that it opened up late. The DJ that played the night of the white party was awesome. He should be playing at some big famous nightclub. The beach was beautiful and about 50’ from hotel. There was even a few trees for Shade on the beach. The water was clear and wasn’t very deep. It was safe to walk on the beach behind all the adjacent hotels. There is a gift shop and a restaurant right next-door on the beach. The gift shop was very reasonable and had a sale during the weekday for $20 for four T-shirts. The small outdoor restaurant or a little pricey. They did have fresh grilled lobsters. They had fresh lobsters and a cage on the beach. If you keep walking down the beach, you will run into sandals Resort about three hotels down. Then beach is blocked off because of Hedonism 2 hotel, which is clothing optional. we do not know which hotel it was until we saw all the nude people walking on the beach. If you walk the other direction from the hotel. There is a very nicetourist center next-door. I don’t remember the name, but they have a huge bar gift shop, ice cream shop, and a restaurant. You will see the large catamaran boats, parked off the beach from there. If you’re outside late at night, you will hear the party is always going on next-door. They also do the Party boats in the afternoon. We never went over there at night, but it seems safe during the day. If you decide to walk on the beach as you leave the property, Security will take your name in room number for safety and will check you back in once you return. Now let’s talk about the negatives. The swim up room could you a little bit of attention. The bed was comfortable. The AC was cold. The furniture had too many scratches. Many of the closet and cabinet doors would not close completely. Furniture appeared to be a little too dated. The bathroom was clean, but you can see that it was a little dated and needed some attention. If you look closely, you would see little signs of some rust and mildew. Refrigerator was well stocked and the TV had plenty of TV channels. The hotel is very close to the main road so you will hear some noise from loud cars passing by. The resort is large and it appears the only way to get around is to walk. I did not see any carts to pick you up and take you from one side to the other. So if you have trouble walking, it could be a problem for you. The buffet is at the far end of the property in the last building. All the entertainment is near the lobby, which is the center of the property. Some of the buildings need a paint touchup. And we did see a guy on a letter painting so hopefully he’ll be done soon. It is time for a renovation. I looked at their history and they have not done one since they open. The pictures are beautiful on their website, but those are the pictures when The Resort was brand new. Overall, the place well kept, but showing signs of wear and tear. If you are a very picky nitpicking type of person, you probably should not go there. We overall had a good time and would stay there again . We do understand they just went through a hurricane just last year, so we understand. We were actually staying in the Negril at a different resort a month before the hurricane hit. So some of the beautiful things we remember are now completely destroyed.

  Davita and Roxanne. The BEST Butler's. Ever.

  While the hotel and food can use some help, the service is beyond amazing. Specifically, Davita and Roxanne - they are like family to us. In fact, they (and many, many others), are the reason we keep going back to Azul.

  excellent experience

  Wow, we really had a good time there. I must say, the majority of the staff was phenomenal. the staff was extremely helpful and amazingly friendly. it was a pleasure getting to know them. Major thank you to Leshauna from the front desk and Gavin, the concierge. Leshauna was amazing from the time we arrived, to the time we left. she really made you feel welcome and comfortable. her smile was genuine and she was more than what we could have asked for Although Gavin wasn't our concierge, he made our time there amazing. his friendly attitude and the way he made us feel, was above expectation . No matter where he was, the simple acknowledgement was there for us the food was really good. the variety allows everyone to enjoy the different flavours. sometime , we did wait a long period for the food to arrive but that didn't spoil our time, and the company was excellent, which made the time go by faster. the buffet was amazing and the staff, again , I cannot say enough about them. the beach was above exceptional. ever morning, it was maintain and was wonderful to be on. we even went for a work and went by several resorts, and they couldn't compete. the resort was generally quiet when we were there , but still allowed different activities for enjoyment.   Would NOT RECOMMEND!

  DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY HERE!! Me and my husband stayed 4 nights at the Azul for a wedding in September 2026. This was by far THE WORSE resort that I’ve ever stayed at!! The staff is only friendly if they see $ MONEY, tips are rudely expected and the level of service you receive is based on your tipping! Food options are limited and very bland for Jamaican cuisine. It was only 2 restaurants (not as advertised) Italian and Jamaican. The buffet was just ok. The older lady who makes omelettes is so rude and money hungry that if she didn’t see money in your hand while ordering she immediately had a nasty attitude and made your food sloppily. My husband who was ahead of me, had a $5 bill in his hand while he ordered (she smiled at him, talked to him and gave him superb service), I didn’t have money in my hand and was greeted with complete rudeness. An older woman who does buffet seating (dinner) got visibly upset because I didn’t want to be seated near the open door at night, she slammed the water glasses over and pushed my chair when I asked to be seated elsewhere. The room needed a DEEP cleaning, the dust build up on the bed side light triggered my allergies. Upon check in, we immediately noticed articles left by previous guests. We stayed in building 1 in an expensive swim up which couldn’t fully be enjoyed because pool maintenance was non-existent the and cushions were filthy!!! The shower kept backing up causing water to cover bathroom floor. The shower head and sink faucets had visible mildew build up, one day of our stay we went without running water for 5 hours!! We had over 50 people in our group and about 80% had issues, concerns and complaints during our stay. When I made my concerns known to the gentleman at the front desk he just brushed me off. The same gentleman handled my check out , he did not offer me a survey to complete just brushed off my concerns again! They have the nerve to charge $200 security deposit for incidentals, this place is an incidental! The best part of the resort was the wedding team, Dewight , Danielle and Carla are Awesome and they each went out their way to ensure a beautiful wedding for my brother and his bride. They handled weather related issues flawlessly!!! The head lady who handled the rehearsal dinner and reception dinner was amazing also (I hate that I forgot her name). Side note:: Dewight is very handsome and he should have been a model! If I could have given negative stars I would give 5! The Azul needs to be renovated from top to bottom, the location, beach views and sunsets are the priceless while the resort is overpriced for the level of lackluster service and underwhelming amenities.
