  Amazing

  I really like the food at the resort, they have a lot of activities like pool activities (kayaking, paddle boarding, obstacle courses), also they have a teens club where we have a lot of fun, we do tie dye and that was amazing whit Luci,Santiago, Efraín and Gio.

  Dinner reservations are the biggest issue - plan on buffet food for your stay.

  Ok resort, not really as good as advertised. The property was clean and staff professional, the main issue was with the food, we were unable to get a single dinner reservations for our entire stay. We were forced to eat the same buffet food every day, a real bummer considering we chose the resort because it offered a number of different restaurants which we assumed we would be able to try.

  Fourth trip to Ava

  We spent the week of December 10th – 17th at Ava. We traveled with 4 other adults, making our group a total of 6 adults. This was our fourth trip to Ava and the second trip for the other 4 adults. We noticed a few of our favorite employees were no longer at Ava and we all felt like there were a lot of new employees that were still in the training process. We dined at the Legendary restaurant for breakfast one day. We asked for refills on coffee a couple of times. The server must have forgotten, so we walked over and asked him. He still did not bring us a refill for coffee. After we were not impressed with the service, we decided to dine at the south side buffet (food district) for the rest of the stay. There was a lady making omelets (near the middle of the restaurant) that did a fantastic job!! Unfortunately, we forgot her name. She was always smiling, and she kept the line moving. A couple of mornings, we were able to find guacamole. When we did not find any guacamole, we asked for avocados. Two of days the days that we asked we were told it was a “no avocado” day. One morning our server disappeared. We had to ask where he was after waiting for about 10 minutes. They said they sent him to the other restaurant. I guess they forgot to let someone else know his table was available. We had Ariel and David as our butlers. We corresponded with Ariel prior to our arrival. She made sure our spa and dinner reservations were just as we had requested. She also stepped in to assist with correcting our transportation to and from the airport. Every day we received a message from them letting us know who was available to assist if we needed anything and they would send a video confirming our reservations for chairs by the pool. After we arrived, we decided to do a couple pedicures. Ariel took care of the pedicure reservations. She also surprised us with a few goodies in the room throughout the week that made us feel like she was going above and beyond to make this trip special. We stopped by Aroma Café and Bakery a few times. My husband requested double expresso mocha coffee with frothed milk. The young lady who made the coffee did a fantastic job! We went back the next day to get another one. Again – it was so yummy! We believe her name was Katya. The next day I asked for three double espresso mocha coffees with frothed milk. There were 3 gentlemen making coffee and one young lady who took my order. Unfortunately, the young lady was not the one who made my drinks previously. I received 3 iced coffees. When I told them that was not what I ordered they did not seem happy. One of the gentlemen rolled his eyes. I let the supervisor (Elizabeth) know and she said she would address it. She even tracked me down a few minutes later and asked if I could show her the picture of the three gentlemen. We ordered coffee for room service every morning. Antonio arrived promptly at 6:00 am every day. He was so cheerful every morning and even happier when we gave him a tip and some chocolate candy from the United States. Cleaning service was great the entire stay. The ladies that cleaned our room were smiling every time we ran into them. We love all the equipment at the gym. As I have said before, the gym is one of the best we have ever seen at an all-inclusive resort. For dinner, we dined at Black Iron (2X), Chez Moi (2X), The Butcher and BAO. We had a special chef’s dinner at Livo. Everyone in our group agreed that the food and service was amazing at all of the restaurants! It was great seeing Javier at Chez Moi. We missed seeing Antonio (the red jacket) that was at Chez Moi in July. We were told he was at the Butcher, but we did not see him. On our last day, Isaac and the crew at the adult pool surprised us with a farewell gift. Isaac drew pictures and wrote “We will miss you” on a towel with sand. We really appreciated them taking the time to give us an extra special farewell and that truly made our day (even though it was a sad last day). During our stay, we like to recognize a couple of employees who go above and beyond. We call them our “SUPERSTARS”. Our “SUPERSTARS” for this trip were Ariel (our butler) and Roberto (the server at the adult pool on the south side). Thank you for making our visit better than we anticipated!!! Keep shining “SUPERSTARS”! The reason we gave Ava 4 stars instead of 5 stars was because of the table servers at the buffet breakfast. We arrived before the restaurants would get busy and there were plenty of employees to handle the number of guests. We feel like the servers at buffets should not have had an issue keeping our drinks filled especially when we noticed them standing around waiting to clear tables. All in all, we felt like there were a few minor hiccups, but we enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon. Yes, we have already booked our next trip back to Ava. We look forward to seeing everyone!

  29 of us that included family and friends.

  We were a group of 29 This was a family and couples week. We had a wonderful experience from Pickup at the airport to room assignments at the resort We ended up staying in a four bedroom panorama suite It was so nice to have our adult children with us, including one grandchild age 14 The buffet area in the morning seemed a little hectic. We mainly ate our lunch at the pool, which was wonderful, a great selection of fresh fruit We had two groups a night of 14 and then 15 people I had made Reservations in advance to accommodate our large group Our Butler’s Rafa and Plucky did an amazing job to accommodate all of us!

  A Christmas Reflection on Remarkable Service at Ava Resort

  Merry Christmas to the management and staff of the Public Relations Office at Ava Resort! As we reflect on the blessings of the Christmas season, we are especially reminded of the outstanding service we received during our eight (8) day stay at the Ava Resort a couple of weeks ago. Despite a few unexpected mechanical issues that were beyond anyone’s control—and required us to change rooms multiple times—Israel and Stephanie demonstrated true professionalism, compassion, and dedication to guest satisfaction. From the moment they were made aware of the situation, they went above and beyond to ensure our experience remained positive. Their responsiveness, genuine care, and attention to detail made all the difference, particularly as they worked tirelessly to ensure my wife’s 60th birthday celebration was filled with joy and unforgettable memories. What could have been a frustrating experience was transformed into one marked by kindness, reassurance, and exceptional customer service. Israel and Stephanie are true assets to the Ava Resort, and their commitment to excellence reflects the high standards of the entire team. Thank you for turning challenges into cherished moments. We are deeply grateful and look forward to returning to Ava Resort in the future. Karl and Harriet
