Full Ocean Views at this Hidden Gem on Maui
Its been a couple years since I have stayed at the Mahana, and all the great attributes about it are still intact on this most recent visit - the great location, small but comfortable feel, great Adult pool and Hot Tub and still a hidden gem among the Mega resorts. I could watch whales from the sizable balcony every day and enjoy the sounds of the waves all night - all rooms face the very close ocean (full ocean view). The condo is all floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean as well. The upgrade to Premium units has always been worth it - the furnishings and appliances in the Premiums units are always nice and very new. The Pool and Parking are super close to the condos - no schlepping long distances. There is a full sized supermarket within walking distance as well - with a fish market and organic market nearby too. This is not a place for families looking for a huge kids pool, etc - thats next door btw. I didn't really interact with the staff much, but there was always someone at the front desk and the staff is friendly upon check-in/out. The Mahana is just a great place to stay for those looking for a calming non-Mega resort Maui vacation.

Make sure and ask about ongoing construction noise
Make sure and ask about ongoing construction noise. The property is in a perfect location… parking is easy and free. The layout of the rooms is ideal. Everything is clean and the staff is great. It was our 3rd stay at the property and wil not be our last.

Fantastic accommodations
I stayed in a deluxe oceanfront, one bedroom unit. I loved the view from the lanai! The unit was very comfortable and had everything I needed, including some wonderful surprise items in the kitchen. Everything was clean and beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend it very highly.

Amazing Ocean Front Experience!
Constant whale watching from spacious balcony or through the floor to ceiling windows was the reason we stayed here - so happy we did! Best ocean front location on Ka’anapali Beach in my opinion. I would have given five stars excellent if it wasn’t for the construction noise during our stay - which is supposed to be completed by end of January 2023. Great restaurants within walking distance, nice pool and lawn area to relax, and access right onto the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return stay here.

STAY AWAY
On check-in, staff was extremely rude. Upon going into the VRBO Unit (Chase N' Rainbows), the shag rugs were something from the 1970’s, there was an old printer in the corner, extra bed linens thrown into the bedroom closet and the unit needed new furnishings. However, the worst was yet to come. First off, the beach in front of the hotel is non-swimmable because of rocks. After finding a section of beach in front of another condo complex, we came back to the unit to take showers and were surprised to discover that there was no water to take showers. According to the property management company, the water company turned the water off due to water shortages. However, we checked with other area hotels and were told they had water. The water returned for a couple of hours each day but the water pressure in the shower was NON-EXISTENT. We complained to the management company but they didn’t care, even though someone texted and said we would get a partial refund since we had no water. The facilities are very dated…pool, inside lobby, etc. There is loud construction going on at the property from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with construction materials stacked everywhere. The best part of the unit is the view from the balcony. The turtles swimming in the water and the sunsets were the only plus for this dump that is cluttered. Don’t waste your time unless you want to take a bath in the ocean. The property owners will say how sorry they are for our disappointment...don't be fooled. Find another place to stay.
