The Argonaut Hotel, San Francisco was perfect for my recent stay.
We recently stayed at the Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco and had a fantastic experience! 🏨 Situated in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf, the Argonaut is just steps away from the cable car turntable and Ghirardelli Square and a few blocks down from Pier 39. While the area is bustling with tourists, it offers convenient access to many attractions and transportation. From the moment we entered, the inviting atmosphere and helpful staff made us feel welcome. The hotel's nautical theme, with its exposed brick walls, wooden beams and maritime decor, adds a charming touch. 🛏️We stayed in a City View King Room overlooking the cable car turntable. Despite some nearby construction, the view was still enjoyable and is sure to improve once the work is completed. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. There were a few dust bunnies along the wooden beams, but nothing that detracted from our stay. 🍽️ The Blue Mermaid restaurant. The French toast was exceptional! We’re from south Louisiana 💜💛💜 and know a thing or two about donuts and French toast and my son said it was the best he’s ever had. Chef’s Kiss! It was so good, it would be worth it to just stop in for breakfast even if you didn’t choose to stay at the hotel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Staying in Fisherman’s Wharf is undoubtedly touristy, but it was exactly where we wanted to be. The Argonaut Hotel's prime location, comfortable accommodations, and attentive staff made our trip memorable. Thank you for having us! We would gladly stay here again on our next visit to San Francisco.

It was fine……..but disappointing
Good bits: the location, the view from our room of the bay and Alcatraz, the complimentary bottled water at reception. Bad bits: not good value for money - our suite was very expensive and the rest of the hotel did not live up to expectations. Service was non existent - we took our own bags to our room (no assistance was offered), every time we tried to call guest services we got an AI bot that was utterly useless and infuriating. The restaurant was average with surly service and very expensive. Our one and only experience with the concierge on our first morning was so poor we relied on Google from there on in - she ignored the questions we asked and tried to upsell us on things we weren’t interested in. The one piece of info we did get out of her turned out to be incorrect. The hotel is in a beautiful old building but alas feels soulless in the communal areas and there is no sense of a ‘hub’. Staff weren’t rude but neither were they friendly. There was little proactivity - there was a lot of chatting amongst themselves while guests stood around waiting for attention. Overall our stay was not terrible, but neither was it great and for the money we spent it wasn’t good value so we could not recommend it. We were not asked about our stay at checkout. I was send a satisfaction questionnaire after leaving which I filled out honestly but the hotel has not followed up about any of our feedback. It just felt like they didn’t care very much. A real shame.

Our favorite hotel!
We love the Argonaut Hotel. This is our second Visit . We chose the Hotel for the location, the service, the ambiance the rooms We were surprised to be greeted by Angel again , he is so friendly and helpful. We also upgraded to a corner suite! This offers such comfort and a cozy place to relax. Angel was friendly every time we walked by the desk. Also enjoyed, Stephen, Brendan and coco.

Poor service marred an otherwise fine stay
The hotel is very comfortable. Service is generally very good. I stayed at this hotel for a week. However, for one day of my stay the service failed to provide me with any towels or even a bath mat. I had to run to an important meeting and, without these basic amenities, had to resort to drying myself with hand towels. That was -- and is-- unacceptable. I complained to the hotel and was ignored. For that reason I am downgrading the hotel's review.

Amazing stay!
This hotel was amazing. Very friendly staff, wonderful room. Superb location for sight seeing. We only used the restaurant for breakfast but cannot fault anything about it. We would totally recommend this hotel and will most definitely be back!
