Apr 16, 2026Clean, Comfortable Stay with Great Service—But Some Missed Details
I’ve stayed at four different all-inclusive resorts in Cancún over the past few years, so I had a good baseline for comparison. I spent 4 nights at the Wyndham Grand, and overall, it has some solid strengths along with a few areas for improvement. The good: The room was clean, spacious, and surprisingly nice for what I believe was the lowest tier option. The balcony offered a great view, which was a pleasant bonus. Service was a highlight—both the lobby and restaurant staff were consistently courteous and attentive. Special shoutout to Ramon, who really went above and beyond to connect with guests and make the experience more personal. Food was what I’d consider typical for an all-inclusive resort—nothing extraordinary, but reliable. There were plenty of healthy options, and everything tasted fresh, which I appreciated. The not-so-good: Pool seating was one of the biggest drawbacks. Chairs with shade were limited, and many were “reserved” early in the morning (think 6am), making it difficult to find a good spot later in the day. Entertainment was also underwhelming compared to other resorts I’ve visited. Shows were only offered on a couple of nights, whereas other resorts usually have nightly performances that last close to an hour. The gym experience could be improved—the staff didn’t come across as particularly welcoming or helpful. Also, while there is a steam room in the locker area, it requires an extra fee, which felt like an unnecessary add-on. Lastly, the shower temperature was inconsistent and often cold. Final thoughts: This review is based on a 4-night stay, so it reflects my experience during that time. The resort delivers on cleanliness, service, and solid basics, but falls short on amenities and overall experience compared to other all-inclusives in Cancún. It’s a decent option, especially depending on price, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
