Very nice family oriented resort
Recently spent Christmas week at Windjammer with my 34 year old son and his wife. We had a 2 bedroom hillside villa with pool and were on the all inclusive plan. It was our first visit. First the negatives. As many others have stated it is about a 90 minute $100 taxi ride from the international airport. Traffic in Castries is the biggest wildcard on how long the journey actually takes. We had no car sickness problems with the hilly roads. Our villa was dated, but very clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Only the bedrooms are air conditioned. Views of the water are great and the outdoor terraces are large. Daily maid service is very good. New furniture and updated kitchens and baths would make these villas truly 5 star quality ,, as is they are still pretty good, I would say 4 star. I found the ambassador program to be useless. I tried to make some pre arrival arrangements but could not get any response. Once onsite an ambassador greeted me upon arrival but that was about it. Never saw him again. The good news is that once you are onsite you don’t need an ambassador and you can find help if you need it. The last negative is that a large part of the Caribbean ocean floor at Windjammers beach is either rocky, muddy, or covered with seagrass. This crowds guests into the areas near the floating sunbeds and slides which have more sandy bottoms. This is manageable, but you may have to pick times to get in the ocean when the good areas are less congested. Definitely bring water shoes in order to better enjoy the sea. The food and drink variety, quality, and service is very good at all venues. Do get the all inclusive plan as a la carte prices are ridiculously high. And do make dinner reservations using open table 30 days or more in advance of your arrival to ensure preferred times. The beach chair reservation system works well and if you follow the rules you will not have to get up at dawn in order to find chairs and umbrellas. Daily activities, the gym, spa, pools , kid programs , tennis courts, and included water sports are way above average and create a lot of options for those who want to be active. The excursion desk is friendly and helpful with many choices. Employees are nice and helpful. The overall resort looks nice and is well kept. Mostly a British or American crowd, often multi- generational. Not celebrities or billionaires, but people with money who have traveled. Not a party atmosphere, but low key music most nights, and you can make new friends at a couple of the bars until 11 or 12. A really good family oriented resort overall. I think 4.5 stars is about right. I would not hesitate to return.

Windjammer never disappoints
We stayed for 14 nights in a 2 bedroom villa with a pool Villa 55. This is our 3rd time to the Windjammer and we had the most amazing 2 weeks. There have been many changes since we last visited 2 years ago and I feel these changes were all for the better even if a few teething challenges! This was the first time we really used the water sports and what an amazing team they have there supporting you, helping and nothing was ever too much. Our wee boy mastered knee boarding through the help and guidance from Denver and Mario. Denver went out of his way to take us on the Hobie Craft and encouraging our wee boy to try sailing. What a truly amazing experience and opportunity, huge thank you to Denver. Helen Richard’s Duty Manager was beyond amazing, she was there wanting our feedback and went out of her way to ensure we had the best stay we could ask for. Nothing was too much for Helen to arrange, sort out and help with, thank you to Helen for being so helpful, supportive and sorting all that she did for us. Kevin Food and Beverages Manager again has eyes in the back of his head, amazing! He sees what needs to be changed, altered, he is always smiling and acknowledges you ever time he saw you and never forgot your name, little touches from him made all the difference to our experience and have left us feeling special. Really like the booking of sun loungers on the beach - top tip go and arrange on your first day then no stress for the rest of your holiday. Best restaurant Masala - Indian, food was authentic, fresh and full of flavour. Service from Margot was outstanding the best server ever, nothing was too much trouble, so welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, simply fantastic. Dragonfly sushi was incredible. Swimming pool is super fantastic since it’s been redone along with the new kids pool too, such a fantastic improvement along with the welcome addition to the new sun loungers and umbrellas which there are lots. We will definitely be returning next year, thank you team Windjammer.

We Can Accomodate You
“We can accomodate you” this was the theme of the week. We wanted a 1/2 day private excursion but we inquired about it at 11am. Kinzie on staff was able to put it together by 1pm. They happily accomodated us. They have ambassadors available to assist with all dinner reservations. They consistently accomodated us. We had an issue with a shower not working properly. They accomodated us by allowing us to tour and choose another villa. Not only is this resort located on a stunning property with breathtaking views, the beach and pool area are gorgeous with staff available at a moments notice. The beauty of the grounds and the happy positive nature of its staff make the Windjammer resort an exceptional resort destination.

Never again
I have been a timeshare owner for 17 years. I have done over 40 vacations with it, going to 30+ different hotels. I own 2 timeshares. I have never felt so unhappy after a stay as I feel now. I feel we were discriminated, treated like second class guests. Don't know why. I have complained many times at the beginning of the week, and all I got were apologies from the staff. Nothing was done by management. Since I am not the type of person to make a scene, I let it go. At the check-in, I was told that when we book with RCI points, you get the "ranch", not the nice villa with the pool. That was confirmed by the supervisor. I was told that to get the villa, I would have to pay an extra 750$ USD. I told them, and showed a picture of the villa that I had 7 years ago, the first time I came. Which I had booked using my RCI points, same way I did this year. The answer was that it has changed since that time and now, I get the ranch or I pay extra to get the villa. They say there are not in the same category. I showed them the confirmation email from RCI that says that only two of the 2 bdr (unit 126 and 137) don’t have pools. For RCI, they are in the same categories. It is a gamble witch one you get, depending on availability. The lady who did out check-in asked for clarifications with the reservation department. Same answer was given. I get the ranch or I pay extra for the villa. It took 2 days to get dishtowels. We didn't have a coffee machine in the room. It took 4 days to get one. Everyday, it was a gamble to see if we would have towels in the bathrooms. On Friday, the room was cleaned at 11:00 am and we finally got towels to take a shower at the end of the day, after I had called the front desk to request towels at 2:00 pm, when we came back from the pool .... when we really wanted to take a shower before heading out, but couldn’t! On Thursday morning, I met a cute family from Wisconsin in the shuttle. They booked through RCI, a 2 bdr, same as me, same points and they got a villa. When I checked out, I met the Director of guest services. He was aware of who I was and the problems I had during the week. But he only knew of the problem I had with housekeeping, nothing else. He was unaware that I was asked to pay 750$ extra to get a villa. And he couldn’t / wouldn’t give me an explanation why. Even after I told him that some RCI members got the villa, without having to pay extra. No explanation, just a

24/7 Concrete Mixer and Zero Sleep
I’m currently staying at Windjammer for a family vacation with my husband and 2 young adult kids. When we checked in they said they’d upgraded our suite, which sounded lovely at the time as we’d be closer to the beach. It was in fact an underhanded tactic to put us next to the construction area. 24/7 concrete mixer that neither the AC/fan can drown out and sitting on the balcony is impossible. At first they said that construction would stop after 8pm. But here we are, 10.21pm and both concrete mixers and workers are still at it. They cannot tell me if and when it will/wont be shut down for the night. In addition we specifically requested twin beds for our kids. This was confirmed, but needless to say one gets to sleep on the lumpy pull out sofa. I thought that this could be reasonably resolved at the front desk, but after multiple trips down to talk to them I’ve now resorted to posting on TripAdvisor in hopes of a more reasonable outcome. I so wanted to love my stay after a truly traumatic year, but needless to say it is not to be. So if anyone is offered rooms 302A&B just say NO, you’d rather walk up the hill.
