  Prepare to Not Sleep

  I knew going in that there was going to be an attempt to sell us a timeshare. We had little time in the area, so I declined the "free breakfast" that was offered. I let the woman behind the counter know that we had no time to sit in a pitch for 2 hours, and she assured me "the standard was no longer than 90 minutes." Still no. So after declining and getting our parking pass, we went back to the room. After an early flight and long day of driving we finally got to relax. The next morning we wake up to a phone call asking if we want a free breakfast! This place has no shame! Never again!

  A mixed bag of results

  We stayed here for 5 days during the end of February and truly was a mixed bag of results... Positives Check in and check out were a seemless process. Front desk and concierge service were all super friendly and helpful. Plenty of pools so the pool areas never feel very crowded. Golf cart transportation was awesome! We just called the front desk and 5 minutes later a golf cart was waiting outside of our villa to transport us wherever we need to go. Mexican restaraunt was awesome, best food on property by far. Negatives Our room was a bit dated, and looked like the floor had not been cleaned in sometime. We arrived to find dirty footprints on the bathroom floor and quite a bit of dust on the floor in the bedroom area. Our shower door would not close properly so everytime we showered, we dealt with water leaking onto the floor. Trip to the water park was economical, but the main water slide was closed. The snack bar at the water park was also closed so there was nowhere to get kids food. They denied us from bringing food or drinks in, which if you are not serving food it makes it very difficult to keep young kids happy and going. We tried dining at Sid's and it was an absolute disaster. There were approximately 15 tables open in the restaraunt, not including the outdoor seating which was less then half way full. When we arrived we were told it would just a few minutes until we were seated, after 15 minutes I went back to the hostess and she said they are now taking cell phone numbers and would text when a table was ready. I was again told would be just a few moments, another 30 minutes went by and we still werent seated despite the place being half empty. Another 15 minutes went by with still no text or name called and we left and went to the Tequilar Bar and restaraunt. We were seated immediately and had a great experience there. We were eating our dinner at the Tequila Bar by the time I received the text that Sids table was ready, over a hour and a half later. Our final day our flight did not leave until the evening so we decided to hit the arcade after checking out to kill some times. We purchased 3 cards for the virtual reality games only to find out when we walked over to them that they are closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays!!! If this is the case why are they being able to be purchased??? I now have $90 worth of virtual reality cards that will never be used!!!

  What a great experience

  Our stay was everything we wanted and more!!! What a great place at a great price! A few things were closed for maintenance, but overall, the resort was well equipped and accommodating to our needs. We even got passes the water park for our grandkids and daughter and son-in-law who were at a different resort comp to us! Loved it and will definitely stay again!

  Reps nasty when you say no

  So it’s been awhile since I wrote a review, but I’m compelled to write during my vacation to give an accurate overview. Yes I booked a timeshare promo and yes I knew what I was in for. I’m not taking issue with the requirement or the fact that the reps are attempting to sell. My issue with the presentation is that when it was obvious that I was a clear no, the hard sell guy,Fo, from Pakistan, made a snarky comment to MY CHILD on the way out that I must not live him enough bc I didn’t want to take him on any more vacations. If you need to resort to nasty comments bc you lose a sale, I’m not sure you’re in the right business. Luckily DS is 8 and knew what the guy was trying to do, but seriously- not cool. Second, while the room/suite was very nice it was positioned next to a water area that is an extra cost clearly designed to entice you. Again, we knew this and had already allocated our entertainment dollars elsewhere, so I figured during our resort day we’d hang by another pool and pool bar. Except guess what? No pool bars or food venues are actually OPEN except the ones affiliated with the waterpark! The front desk confirmed this when I called. When I pointed out this inaccuracy of amenities, her only reply was, “ is there anything else I can help you with?” This is in addition to lack of shuttles to nearby parks, lack of direct number to front desk without going through many options and being on hold for 20 minutes, and lying about the time it takes to get to the presentation center- which thankfully I trusted my GPS bc it was not a 20 minutes drive- it was 50. Sorry Westgate. You’re not only not getting my faux timeshare dollars, you’re not getting any more vacation dollars. Since I had to cut my resort day short, I’m going back to Disney.

  Fantastic place

  They have 14 pools! An activity building with actual activities. Everything was clean and well landscaped.
