    Not The One

    Location is great. Oceanfront views and access was ideal. Pools and lazy river also great. The rooms are dirty and outdated. You have to ask for towels multiple times and housekeeping is by request only. Front desk staff are annoyed when you ask for anything but they tell you to call when you check in. Refrigerator leaked water all over the floor.

    Stay somewhere else

    First off, although we found out on arrival this was a “timeshare” hotel, we booked directly for approx. $230 per night for three nights. We did not sign up or do any timeshare things. For $230 a night, we expected a room cleaning and fresh towels at least every other night - but you have to call and request this. They drop towels in a trash bag and the staff member wouldn’t take our old towels instead we left them in a pile outside the door. There is NO BREAKFAST restaurant and no other amenities like a gift shop. Although they do have a couple of vending machines. The smell of weed is everywhere - in the halls, the lobby, outside the front entrance and in the pool area. The pools are another disappointment- way too small for the size of the hotel and guest capacity. The only close restaurant is a pricey sports bar. Otherwise you have to Uber or walk at least a couple blocks. The “concierge” couldn’t even tell us how much the beach lounge/umbrella rental was or if the only took cash. You’d think they would have at least some knowledge of what amenities were right outside their door on the beach. We kept getting a note on our door that we missed our “welcome packet” at the concierge desk but this is just some coupons and to hit them up about the timeshare crap. No thanks. We didn’t bother with this. There’s also a “resort fee”. First, this isn’t a resort and requiring a $60 fee to use the pool and for WIFI? Seriously?? Overall, a huge disappointment for the price. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. It’s not worth $230 a night. If you stay cheaper due to the timeshare sales pitch - well that’s on you.

    Update: Much like now, silence and irresponsibility has been my experience with Westgate. When they do respond they refuse to answer or even address why I contacted them in the first place and chooses to re-explain my contract to me as if it’s any excuse for allowing their personnel to commit legal crimes and fraud. The last time I posted my complaint, I explained how their sales staff had forged my signature on important documents, which ironically, happen to be the same documents they loom over my head and claim is what prevents them from canceling my contract. If I were a business owner responsible for my employees, I would consider this a very serious allegation and would look into it ASAP. Since this complaint was posted, they have made no attempt to call me, to respond (as you can see), to email me, or send me anything in the mail. They have my contact information and refuse to correspond or again, acknowledge my concerns. Ladies and gentlemen, you can now see for yourselves, the kind of experience and managerial attention you can hope to receive if you contact them for understanding and help. Absolutely nothing.     Some things are nice, but no food is a problem

    The hotel is nice, modern looking, good beds and showers. There are a couple things that are a big problem for my family, one is the fact that they do not have food at all. You have to go outside of the hotel for all your meals, even for breakfast. We had to cross a busy street with two kids to get to a friendly’s for breakfast. It did not even had e a restaurant to do delivery to our room. Very inconvenient. Having to go out to get food was a burden and I would not recommend that hotel until they offer at least breakfast. The second down side of it is the fact that they do not offer service for the rooms. We had to ask them to remove our trash a few days and ask to bring towels. It is ok to save money by not cleaning everyday or changing towels, but we had to eat a few times in the room and hang clothes to dry and after two days our room smelled terrible. We ask them to remove our dirty towels and give us new ones and they simply threw new towels in the room without collecting the dirty ones. Again, we did not ask for service, just the minimum and they did not do even that. When I asked for the trash to be collected, that told me to put it in the corridor. Seriously, that is unacceptable.if I did not want to have that smell around us why would I place it in the corridor? They could simply say yes and send someone to collect it. This management needs to train people to give customers an answer that will make them feel that whatever they asked will be resolved. The kindest staff we interacted with was Cheyenne, she deserves my compliment.

    Took the first few days to get past the shock. We Didn't enjoy it as much as we should have. We even wanted to bail to a diff

    The parking was terrible. There was no inside entry from the "creepy" garage. The room, quite average. Furniture was dated and along with some fixtures, falling apart. No cleaning all week due to "COVID restrictions" and they cut off our card at 8:50 when check out was at 10 am. If I'd known this wasn't the actual resort part we were guest in I wouldn't have even gone to Myrtle Beach
