    Disappointing

This place is deceiving! Upon checking we had to pay $150 extra b/c according to them we booked through a 3rd party site ( expedia) , simply not true! I booked through them directly!! We were to tired to argue the point. I knew this was not going to be a good place for us with this deception. It advertised 4 restaurants, again : deception! It has one main restaurant with minimal options of food. In addition to this it is very far from the main lobby and you have to walk outside, then in to get to it. There is NO room service. There is NO breakfast although this is listed on their website. Be prepared to get Uber or delivery to the front lobby! Even though the view is beautiful the 2 double bed room is very small without even a chair! You will be eating on the edge of the bed. The coffepot was on the edge of an outdated dresser with the cord stretched to an outlet, see picture! This all was alot for a week, we were looking forward to going home & wished we had booked elsewhere! Dont be fooled by the pictures on the website. If all you want is the beach then this is the place for you, but that is it! As far as housekeeping goes, they dump your clean towels in a plastic bag& you have to remind them to pick up the dirty ones. I had to chase down a housekeeping lady to ask her about our floors ( we booked for a week ), she handed me a broom and dustpan!!! I will certainly not recommend this hotel to people we know. . This hotel is minimal for what we paid,,, i wish i had booked at the Hampton inn!

    BEAUTIFUL BEACH AND OCEAN SCENERY

We are Westgate owners and this was our second visit to this resort and I’m not sure there will be a third time. When we came 2 years ago we were assigned ocean view room in tower 1000 this time we were assigned the newer tower 2000 with only a partial view when I asked for a oceanfront room since we are owners they said there was no room available so we accepted it and went onto to our room we had 2 issues with this room first the dryer didn’t work I had our clothes in the dryer for 4 hours and never dried I hung our wet clothes in the room and balcony second issue was NO HOT WATER; when I told them they said they were aware of the problem but didn’t offer any suggestions so we ran the showers probably 1 hour and would finally get some warm water anyways this visit was very disappointing I must say the beach was beautiful!!

    Didn't seem like a 3.5 star hotel

Needs a nice grass area to actually be considered pet friendly. You pay $150 pet fee and then there is only the beach brush paths to take you dog to and they end up with big burrs. Step area from pool to beach needs cleaned of debris. You shouldn't have to step over trash to get to the beach. Pools need cleaned more often. Pool next to us looked really nice but these pools not so much! Piles of sand in the bottom and leaves. Just didn't look clean. Bathroom floor grout needs a really good cleaning. Mold along the ceiling of the shower. Mold under the soap holder in the shower and looks like it never gets cleaned under there. Tub/showers look like they actually need an upgrade, doesn't look like 3.5 star.

Misled about the time committment and premiums for presentation

We did not stay at the property which looked very nice--actually wonderful and I would probably like to stay there.. This is a review of the Timeshare presentation and the terrible experience we had there. We stopped at a "Myrtle Beach Welcom Center" on our way into Myrtle Beach--about an hour out. It turns out that this "Welcome Center" was simply nothing more than a Westgate Timeshare promotion location. We talked with the folks there and told them our plans and they said that we could get $125 gift card and a 3-day, 2-night stay at a Westgate property in Myrtle beach simply for attending a 90 minute presentation. The promo agent told us that it would be a 90 minute time committment. The presentation started at 9am and would go until 10:30am. We figured that for a short time committment, it was worth it although we have done these before and know what to expect. We also liked the free stay that was promised at one of the properties because we would like to go for a weekend from time to time. We have 3 kids, 19. 18. and 14 so they all want their own beds if not rooms and most of these "free" stays we have encountered are for 2 adults and 2 children. The promo agent assured us that this trip giveaway would have no problem with 5 people, 4 of them adults, and that we could request a condo that would sleep 6. So, having covered all the bases, we paid the $20 deposit to make sure we would really show up and went on our way. On Saturday morning, we arrived at the presentation site and waited until after 9:30 before our sales agent took us to a breakfast area. We got breakfast from the buffet and talked to her about how we like to travel, likes and dislikes, etc. We told her that we were told we would be her for 90 minutes and we were expecting to be done by 10:30. She just brushed that aside and said she would hurry. After breakfast, we went to another room where the actual sales presentation started. It was now 10:15. Again we told ouy sales agent that we were planning to be out by 10:30 and she just kept going. We were polite but getting frustrated. To make matters worse, she would NOT tell us how much money was involved for us to buy. When we pressed her on the time, she told us that we had agreed to a 90 minute presentaton AND a tour of the property. Neither breakfast nor the tour was part of the 90 minutes and the presentation had started at 10:15. Had I known that, we would have gladly skiped breakfast and just got on with it, but in reality, breakfast was where she was gathering sales ammo (I am in sales--we call them pings) info she could use later in trying to close the sale--so it really was part of the sales process. We took the tour, rushing her on as quickly as possible. We finally got back to the sales room at 11:15. We told her we were very frustrated at how long this had taken and wanted to get out ASAP. She said she needed to call her manager for the final step. We waited another 15 minutes for a manager to come around and by that time we were fit to be tied. We told the manager we were not interested and that we had already been there an hour longer than we had planned and just wanted to get out. The manager said she was required to give a final presentation and also said that we had signed up for the presentation and that breakfast and the tour were not part of the presentation. We kept saying that we were told by the promo agent that we would be out by 10:30 and she told us that the promo agent had given us the wrong information. Finally, after arguing with her got nowhere, I told her just to present what she had to as quickly as possible. So she presented the price, we told her no thanks and she signed off on our gifts--but we were all getting a little heated. We had no problem at the redemption office and our $125 was loaded on the card as well as a refund of our $20 deposit. Later, as we looked at the voucher for the free weekend, sure enough, it is for 2 adults and 2 children in a hotel room. Between being misled by the promo agent and the high pressure at the sales center, this just about ruined our Saturday morning and was definitely not worth it. An hour and a half was questionable and we considered just forfeiting the $20 deposit and not going. However, because we were going to be done by 10:30 and the kids were sleeping ina anyway, we decided it would be worth it. But spending 3 hours on this was ridiculous. We each made about $25/hr for our trouble. Based on the promo agent and the sales presentation, we have NO CONFIDENCE in anything Westgate would tell us.

Pretty but will never come back

This hotel is immaculately clean and main floor is decorated well This is in part to bring a time share sales office Yet here the pros Clean Pretty On Ocean Cons 1.Right next to a community water spillway that had rushing brown toxic water flooding into the ocean for two days. The net says not toxic but just run off streets and agriculture - that is toxic 2. No room service 3. Railing on balcony- as high as my head and blocked my view, felt like prison bars
