Employees Make the Difference in this Hotel
Over five months ago, I decided to book a room at the Waldorf Astoria Versailles - Trianon Palace, and I am so glad that I did. Even though many people might consider booking a hotel in Paris for their first time in France, Versailles is a great location that cannot be beaten on many levels (historic, gastronomic, and cultural). In addition, regardless of the mixed reviews that can be found on TripAdvisor, I decided to trust this hotel in celebrating our second wedding anniversary. Before arriving at the hotel, I interacted with the concierge and front desk teams regarding our special occasion. We were also able to book reservations for Gordon Ramsay's Au Trianon, La Veranda, and Peacock Alley's Afternoon Tea. In addition, a car was booked in advance to secure our arrival and departure from/to CDG airport, something that I would highly recommend. The 40–45-minute ride without traffic to /from the airport was smooth and worth it. In addition to rooms, facilities, excellent restaurant and spa venues, and proximity to the Chateau de Versailles/Grand Trianon/Petit Trianon/Queen's Hamlet, what makes this hotel worth it is each team member working there. The front desk, housekeeping, concierge, Guerlain spa, La Veranda/Gordon Ramsay's Au Trianon/Peacock Alley, and Bellmen were all helpful and friendly in extending a helping hand. Everyone made sure we had a fantastic stay. Special thanks to Marcelo at the concierge desk for going above and beyond when we needed it the most. He is highly professional and most welcoming, ensuring guests feel appreciated and welcomed. I recommend this hotel, especially when you want to learn about Versailles in detail and still be close to Paris. I would suggest that you book a Palace (five-star room) and make sure that you consider the train (a 20-minute walk from the hotel) to travel to Paris with no issues. Thank you to the Waldorf Astoria Versailles - Trianon Palace team for making our stay unforgettable. We will make sure to return soon!

VERY BADLY MANAGED PROPERTY
Beautiful historic building and grounds, but a VERY BADLY MANAGED PROPERTY. That is truly tSHAMEFUL, being a WALDORF ASTORIA. That falls on the GM. Why is the building great, but the operation failing in so many ways? Not Supervised by Hilton? Shocking!! We booked Waldorf Astoria Versailles expecting the usual high standards of services, and in food and top quality of function throughout the property. And being Diamond Lifetime we chose to always stay at Hilton. We booked our stay at a Hilton rate. Unfortunately, that seemed to prejudice our visit. We checked in as a Diamond Lifetime were upgraded But not to a suite (as per Hilton) although suites were available for our dates. We chose to eat at the hotel and not to go to an outside restaurant, but the restaurant was closed. The bar was open so we decided to eat at the Waldorf Astoria bar. The atmosphere looks pleasant. Shamefully the food quality was not up to par. Simple food, a burger and a club, never thought they could be ruined in such a way Amateurist sous chef. Bragging about having a Ramsey restaurant and the bar chef works under it, but what we were served from that chef was nothing like it, Amateurist. The breakfast tall girl with dark hair checkin was not very pleasant, very rude. The breakfast spread is nothing to write home about. They have a chef's special which is an apple flan, but only 1 plate per day and when it finishes by 8:30 am. We found out because we asked. Was told that is it for today. Waldorf Astoria economising. Some staff were kind but others very abrupt and that is not a nice pleasant way to start the day. It's 2024 and a Waldorf Astoria had a fuzzy TV screen. Wow. In addition, there was no streaming and the channels did not translate from French. Only the English news stations BBC & CNN. In the evening, it's not so easy turning down with just news. We were in France, not a poor 3rd world country. Just amazed us. We complained, we were told this is how it is. Very poor. In leaving we called for the bellman, don't remember how many times we called, but they never came. Eventually we carried our own luggage down. That was a very Unsatisfactory exit. It showed badly how dysfunctional the operations were. The service is just not there, from F&B to the Bellman and breakfast. The room service staff were nonchalant, not listening and made many mistakes. As Hilton Lifetime Diamond, we reached the gm Rambau. Her response was a template. We forwarded our complaint to Hilton. After that she requested a call to discuss the issue. We were horrified by her derogatory tone to us. Instead of taking responsibility for her failures, she said the restaurant is not Gordon ramsay. OK, but what about the standards of the F&B of a Waldorf? The bar chef works with Ramsey. We said that Waldorf Astoria has international standards that highest standards should be at every outlet throughout the hotel. Then we asked how about the TV? her reply, "you should have called to get it fixed". Our reply was, why are we going to a Waldorf Astoria to have your TV fixed? And she said you are right! How about the bellman not showing up, the breakfast attitude, the shameful attitude of room services. Well she'll work on them on our next visit. Stephanie Rambaud told us, "you have a Hilton special rate", telling us that this disgraceful services we received because we have a Hilton special rate. She told us she is from England, not French. Hilton really should hold Waldorf Versailles to high standards. Certainly Versalles should be looked in on by Hilton. Waldorf Astoria cannot and should not be an embarrassment. Standards must be upheld no matter who and where they come from. Hotels like this are about Hospitality at Highest Standards. It certainly felt like Stephanie does not have that standard to offer guests regardless who they are and what rate they choose on Hilton website. It is the Waldorf Astoria.

Customer Service first touch point = fail
We shall see what happens but I emailed and told them that Versailles didn’t respond back and that I needed help booking the After hours Versailles tour. Concierge TD sent me an email for another tour group during open hrs. I then emailed back stating not that one but this one and included a screenshot of the webpage with email and info for more clarity. My last email was 11/10/2024. Note I’m on a month tour of Europe wherein I’m only staying at HILTON brands with my Diamond status so needless to say, this tour was lost in the back burner. It’s Nov 18 and still nothing. So … I called and found TD not at work until 2:30 or 14:30, but the one that picked up told me that the tour doesn’t exist except for the other Non-Hilton as I read the whole page for him to show that it does with email included. I usually do All Accor in Europe as it’s local but decided to try Hilton. Malta, Roma, Lisbon … touch points five stars. Paris, Trocadero … not so much Versailles… I’ll update but I’m all about Customer Service and for 5star hotels one can expect an elevated experience with that.

the best hotel in Versailles
If you are looking for a 5 star experience in Versailles, this is the place you need. a 4 star wing is available as well as the 5 star complex, but you'll want to stay in the 5 star palace. Rooms are quite big, the views are amazing (both to the Palais de Versailles and the garden) and the service... Probably the best I've experienced in France. The concierge Marcello will turn your stay into an unforgettable moment. Everyone in this hotel makes sure you have a wonderful stay. Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are a 10/10. I have never seen such a dedicated staff. I am coming back every year for a reason, and you should too!

Pay a 5 star price for a 4 star hotel
Be careful when booking this Pavillon. It is in a separate building with limited services. the Waldorf is listed as a 5 star hotel and charged you as a 5 star hotel. This Pavillon is listed as 4 star on some Online Travel Agent. We were given a room with a small window in the basement with the top of the windows looking at the ground. Highly recommend you not to book this Pavillon. For a 4 star hotel, this is way overpriced. We will not book this Pavillon wing again. Attached you may see the windows and room which are very different from what we saw at the time of booking.
