Rustic, uncomfortable, remote
Remote, quiet, beautiful grounds, but...our 1 bedroom cottage was sweltering hot during the day and not well kept up. (Missing/moldy grout, scratches all over walls, uncomfortable furniture, terrible pillows, odd musty smell) Pools was freezing cold. Mediocre food at sports bar. No housekeeping service for 4 day stay. Not very welcoming staff. Very few dinner options in the tiny town of Waimea. Can't swim in ocean. We actually wondered why anyone would stay here. Especially for the high prices. Maybe the more expensive ocean front cottages are nicer, they did seem better kept.

Highly Recommend
Having never been to Kauai Waimea Plantation Cottages helped our first experience be a great one. We are not ones for luxury resorts so this was perfect for us with the property and cottages being exactly what we wanted. The views sitting on the lanai are unbelievable and was great to be able to have a short walk to the pool and to the beach (especially for sunset). Was great being close to the small town of Waimea and it’s fun lunch options (not many dinner options) and was great having the restaurant on property, which was good for a relaxed and super easy option. Was great being so close to Waimea Canyon and we loved being no too far from Salt Pond Beach, which was great for our kids and for snorkeling.

Nice and Peaceful!!!
We were so glad we were able to book our 3 bedroom cottage at the Waimea Plantation Cottage back in August of 2022. Our stay was for a week and it was the perfect place to stay. Great amenities which included most of the kitchen appliances we needed, a BBQ grill, towels, patio furniture, etc. It made our stay very pleasant! The only thing that was a deterrent were the mosquitos. I am a mosquito magnet and it showed on our stay there! LOL! No biggie, we bought bug spray at Big Save down the street. (the local grocery store) A back story - my God Parents used to run the plantation cottages before back in the 1990's. I was there in 1991 and again in 1993 and visited them after Hurricane Iniki hit the island. they were doing good back then and luckily, they were not damaged from the storm like the resorts on the north and east shore of Kauai. I have a history on the island of Kauai, born at the Waimea Veteran's Memorial Hospital in 1963. It was right down the street from WPC. I would definitely book another stay there!!!

Nature and old Hawaii
Amazing and peaceful place. A Bit pricey but it’s worth it. Book a ocean front cottage and you won’t regret it. The kitchen allows you to have breakfast on the front porch. The cottages are definitely dated but the atmosphere is unique and real.

Wonderful time in Hawaii
We loved everything about waimea plantation cottages. Our 2 bedroom ocean view cottage was charming and clean. We enjoyed a great kitchen, comfortable beds, 2 private patios and easy parking Staff is excellent. I really felt like we were in old Hawaii, without the crowds. Good location, with the ocean on one side and wonderful waimea canyon state park up the mountain. Highly recommend .
