Dec 03, 2025Amazing Staff
We stayed a total of 3 nights (2 before our cruise and one after). The hotel staff were fantastic at helping coordinate our bags, and even a room (before our room was ready) to clean up after we went to the beach. We enjoyed making leis with Linako and Victor was so helpful and friendly. So happy we booked our stay here. The reason I only gave 4 stars, was due to the lack of coffee and whatnot in the rooms, however the hotel did provide complementary water bottles, the extras just weren’t there.

Good Stay
I visit Honolulu about once or twice a year for about 25+ years. First time at Waikiki Malia. Location and staff were great!! All the major bus routes are right in front on Kuhio. A few blocks down is Marugame udon, Dukes market and International marketplace. Room was nice but the carpet has to go!! Bathroom is not good for a hotel rated 8.6. Large but absolutely no countertops or hooks to hang clothes. Wasted space. Pool was small but looked nice. It was great that we were given metal water bottles that were refillable at a water dispenser in the lobby......great idea. Not my favorite but this was our last stop on our 16 days Pacific journey ......the price was good! We had a standard room with tiny balcony (no chairs) and the view was a wall (get what you pay for).

This hotel is well located in the Waikiki area. It's next to all the shopping, bus stops and restaurants. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The front desk staff was efficient and professional. The hotel has a small whirlpool and small pool. There is no onsite restaurant, but plenty of places to eat nearby. I found my room extremely quiet, even when it was next to the elevator. The beach is a few blocks away.

Always clean
Always very clean, there was no coffee maker in the room, one was provided on request. Strong AC, bar lounge and ihop are to the right side of the front desk, it will get very busy at the bar, I don't hear any noise complaints.

Location was great for foot traffic. Quick access to stores and beach. Staff was professional and helpful. Clean room but the bathroom and the room itself was small. We were charged 35.00 per day for amenities- but I don’t think a pot of coffee on the check in counter for a few hours in the morning and a SMALL pool in an alleyway really were worth it. I saw pictures of hotel on line and was a bit concerned about the pool because they show you a clip of it. When we called and asked if they had a pool they said yes that they had a hot tub as well. I was highly disappointed when we got there and saw the pool. The pool is literally in an alleyway that is covered. Our room was next to the staff employee room. We were woken up every morning between 6:00-6:30 am ( not a relaxing and restful vacation) by the staff/cleaning crew. The staff/ cleaning crew were opening and slamming the door and pushing the cleaning carts in and out of the employee room. We heard this every morning on our vacation. If you’re looking for a relaxing hotel with great amenities this isn’t the place. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
