Great experience for our entire family! Jesse really made our trip special
This hotel was a great experience for our entire family. We absolutely loved the food and drinks as well as the service at all the restaurants. The pool was great and the property was clean and well maintained. The best part of our trip was Jesse, the activities host who not only entertained us throughout our trip, but he took the time to talk with us and made sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. You have a true superstar with him at that hotel and we would definitely say that he made our stay there feel special. Can't wait to return!

A solid base with room for improvement
The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, which meets basic expectations. Unfortunately, the quality of the mostly unseasoned food and the drinks (with the exception of the Vintage Club) was disappointing. The loud music at the pool twice a day also did not match the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere we were hoping for. Some staff members struggled with simple English requests. At the same time, we would like to positively highlight those who always made an extra effort: Aquilio at the private beach, Santa, Xiomeris & Ricardo from the Vintage Club, as well as Robison at the front desk. Several services that were meant to add value did not work smoothly in practice: • Despite booking the Royal Package, we were initially assigned a non-renovated room near the noisy pool area. With support from the Rooms Division Manager, we were able to move to a beachside room the following day. • A request for missing hangers resulted in pest control being sent instead. • Room service was unreliable on two occasions (wrong tea delivered in the evening, and lunch not delivered despite follow-up calls). We did enjoy spending time at the sister hotel Casa Colonial (spa, dining, cocktails) and on excursions, which clearly improved the overall experience. Overall, the hotel works as a base, but the overall experience lacks consistency. With better execution, it could live up to its potential — and appeal to a broader range of guests, not mainly those primarily focused on alcohol.

Sun, Pool, Sea, Merengue, Zumba!
As returning visitors, our holiday at Gran Ventana was - as usual - a great experience. The food was great and a variety of choices. The entertainment team was always a lot of fun, on the many sunny days, and the few rainy days (tropical warm rain!) The daily merengue lessons were a nice treat and especially the WONDERFUL Zumba classes by Zumba Instructor Svetlana from Belgium were a highlight.

Another Great Visit to the Gran Ventana
Great hotel as ever but not all of the rooms have been renovated yet but the rooms and the hotel are very clean. A few weeks before I was to arrive I sent an email explaining I was a many time (6 to8) repeater to the resort and asking for a quiet room away for the pool. I explained where I had stayed during my last visit a couple years ago and asked if it was possible to be near the same location. When I arrived my 1st room had a very hard mattress and next to the resort next door and it was loud. I spoke with the manager Anthony and while the resort was very busy he moved me to room much quieter. He explained that when they upgraded their system in 2019, they lost a lot of info and that was likely only my last couple of visits were all that were recorded. Anthony and his excellent staff are just one of the reasons I keep returning to the Gran Ventana. I still say they are the best staff in the DR and honestly I spoke with quite a few repeaters this trip and they agreed. The food is another reason I return to the Gran Ventana. Always top level and different dishes each day for us to try. Being solo this trip I did not try the Ela carts but honestly did not feel I missed out as the food in the buffet was excellent. In the lobby of my building they held a staff appreciation/ Christmas party and guests of the building were invited. I did attend for a short time and could see that the management really value their staff. Everyone had a great time myself included.

Great value for our dollar.
Had a great stay at the resort...quite like the Octopus Restaurant and enjoyed yoga with instructor Cathy from NRG2GO each morning...she showed variations on the poses and had some great energy. Loved the beach for long walks with my partner. We'd definitely return.
