Anniversary Trip
This was for our 30 year anniversary celebration…. Pros- resort is very clean, There are lots of restaurant choices if you can get reservation. We had a 1 bedroom with beautiful view and terrace. Good to have golf cart for people to get dropped off. Cons - The Wi-Fi not that great, Making dinner reservations was a big haste …they need to write that on website the procedures to getting reservations. Japanese Restaurant the quality of food was horrible not edible especially meat. Need more signage of their Specialty drinks. Our terrace got attacked with lots bugs that you could not even go out which was unfortunate since it was our last day. It might been that they were renovating next door. It was very unfortunate as we were not able to enjoy the patio or jacuzzi. Told the front desk she did not offer any compensation. The biggest reason why we would not return is making dinner reservations was really bothersome. Even when my husband went 7 am to make the 2 night reservations 5 days away we still could not get anytime close to 6-7:30. Eating dinner at 5-5:30 pm was very inconvenient made our daytime at the pool shorten. Most of the time we were trying to get ready for dinner around 4 to shower etc…housekeeping was trying to clean our room. Even though the restaurants was always empty between 6-7:30 …did not understand why.

Not What We Expected
Upgraded to Platinum upon arrival after being shown the room available. When we got settled in we went to the balcony and couldn’t see the ocean due to a giant palm tree. After we mentioned this to our butler they said we could move but it was on the 3rd day of a 4 day trip. Having to make dinner reservations is also a joke. Having to settle for something undesirable and eating dinner at 9:30pm isn’t what we had planned. Having to pay $60 for WiFi was a joke along with having to use a card for a towel to use at the pool was dumb as well. Butler service was horrible and if we ever return will definitely not upgrade to Platinum. The pressure to invest in a Time Share is also a turnoff for us. Service was hit or miss with the staff. The more you tip the better service you will receive.

Relaxing and spoiled at Ventus
The best and most relaxing week we have had in a very long time. One of the few resorts that we will definitely return to. We felt very spoiled by all the employees, especially our butler Saul. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Amazing staff, gorgeous venue, passable food.
In the many years that we have been coming to El Cid, the one thing that remains constant is the staff. The consistently go above and beyond to make our stay delightful. This trip both our butlers, Javier and Emilio, were particularly attentive, and helped make the trip for two mobility challenged elders as comfortable and pleasant as possible: they are both amazing! The housekeeping staff, the concierge staff, and the restaurant personnel are all wonderful. The views are unfailingly remarkable, even though El Cid, as every other resort along the Riviera Maya has to fight the destructive seaweed rolling in from another continent. We are always welcomed as family, and this time our housekeeper even came to tell us goodbye when we were due to leave.

Another great week at Ventus El Cid
My family stayed a week at the Ventus El Cid. We had an incredible 3 BR suite overlooking the beach. What a great view to wake up to! We were able to get reservations at every restaurant except one. Our favorites were A’akat and La Marina. The variety of food choices is outstanding. A highlight of the resort is the wonderful staff. Everyone went out of their way to make our vacation memorable. Emilio and Javier are great butlers. We loved eating breakfast at the French restaurant with our waiter Alan. The “beach captain” Tomas is awesome. Water aerobics at 1215 is so fun and I love the instructors. The resort is making beach improvements and we look forward to seeing more results next visit,
