Can't wait to come back
We love this hotel. We've stayed twice and would always come back to this hotel. The rooms are spacious with everything you could need. The best bit is having Volcano Bay as your back garden and the early entry to all 3 parks. My one small issue is the Starbucks within the hotel, the staff were rude and several times got our order wrong. I know this isn't the fault of the hotel but it's within the hotel

Excellent stay!
My husband and I both work remotely and thought it would be fun to skip out on another gray week up North and spend it within the glow of Universal Studios Orlando. We love Cabana Bay and stay here at least once a year. The location is great, easy access to US & IoA,along with Volcano Bay. Rooms are clean, and have great amenities. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful From check in on, you feel welcomed. We hose a family suite since we'd both be setting up our remote office, and we had plenty of space. Wifi was fine when the hotel was less busy, but near the weekend,it got a little slow and we had to use hit spots. But what better way to wrap a work day than to stroll along a path and spend your evening riding roller coasters and eating brookies?

Highly recommend, great hotel
This resort is wonderful, we’ve stayed here a total of 3 times and have enjoyed every experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great, it has the luxury hotel feel at a moderate price. Both pools are great, we did enjoy the side with the lazy river much more, some days they had employees there running children’s games in the pool area, which was great for our child, they were very entertained the whole time, as well as won some prizes. I woud and have recommended this resort to anyone I know that is headed to the universal area.

Great location, pool was lovely but a little outdated.
This hotel is in a great location for the parks. Plenty of shuttle buses to take you to the park or you could take a 20 minute walk. The hotel itself fells a little run down though our room was good but the shower was none existent. Our view from the room was awesome of the pool and Volcano Bay. There are two pools. We were in the Americana block just by the lazy river. This pool was the better of the two but it does depend on which room you book. The hour early admission is only for Island of Adventures and not for Universal Studios but to be fair, it was so quiet at both parks, we were done by mid day - mid afternoon. The food options were rubbish (my opinion) as it wasn’t a restaurant, it was just a massive room with table and chairs and you pick what you want. Not my type of dinning so only ate there once.

Finally!!! FRESH PASTA
The homemade fettuccine stood out immediately, with its perfect al dente texture. Freshly made pasta can sometimes be a gamble in terms of consistency, but Kalamata's nailed it. The fettuccine was light yet hearty, offering a satisfying bite without being too heavy. The chipotle pesto was a real highlight—vibrantly green, with the smoky depth of chipotle adding just the right level of heat and earthiness. It wasn’t overwhelming; instead, it complemented the dish in a way that made each bite more interesting than the last. The pesto's slight spiciness melded beautifully with the mild, slightly sweet flavor of the grilled zucchini. The zucchini itself was tender but retained a pleasant bite, its char adding a layer of complexity that brought the whole dish together. To elevate the flavors further, the addition of New Mexico green chile provided a regional touch that couldn’t have been more fitting. The green chile was subtly incorporated into the dish—offering a mild heat and a slight tang that made it more than just a garnish. It balanced out the richness of the pesto and pasta while paying homage to New Mexico’s iconic culinary heritage. Flavor Balance & Overall Experience The combination of fresh pasta, chipotle pesto, grilled vegetables, and green chile created a dish that was both comforting and exciting. Each element played off the others in the perfect proportions—there was just enough smokiness from the chipotle, enough freshness from the zucchini, and enough heat from the chile to keep the palate intrigued without overwhelming it. Kalamata's doesn’t just serve a meal; it tells a story of local ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The dish was the perfect representation of the restaurant’s ability to blend Mediterranean influences with New Mexican flavors, offering something unique to the area. Conclusion Kalamata's in Silver City is a gem that shouldn’t be overlooked. The homemade fettuccine with chipotle pesto, grilled zucchini, and green chile is a standout dish that showcases the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients and bold flavors. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this dish is a must-try. With its stellar food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance, Kalamata's is a perfect destination for anyone looking to explore the diverse culinary offerings of Silver City.
