My honest opinion… Pros - Newer, atmosphere was great, pool staff was fabulous (shout out to our favorite Panfilo!), rooms are well appointed, drink selection was great, great vibe! Asian restaurant was amazing! Angel and Nicholas were the best! Cons - can’t see the ocean from the pool (but when you do walk out there it’s spectacular!), food was meh (typical for an all inclusive), one hour drive from the airport, pool towel staff was nonexistent the first two days, we had a terrible smell in our room and the solution after multiple calls was to add aroma. Ugh. Our friends were next door and did not have this issue. Above average overall.

Wonderful location. Erick was an excellent local host who provided daily details of the resort so we could enjoy many features being offered. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed activities with David and Ricardo throughout the resort. Lorena was a wonderful hostess for lunch. Ariana always had a big smile and started our day strong at the breakfast at 20 87. The views are stunning. The mixology class with Luis was fun and the evening art session in the lobby are worth checking out.

A Wonderful Visit to Unico!
This was a first visit to Unico for my wife and me. We had a phenomenal time! This is an adult only, boutique resort. Everything was beautiful and welcoming from our private transportation from the airport to a personal greeting in the lobby. Our room, on the fifth floor of building one, was oceanfront with stunning sunrises and sunsets. The room was beautiful and comfortable: bed was comfortable, amenities top shelf, bathroom spacious , and the tub on the balcony was perfect - we used it multiple times! Our butlers Israel and Roger attended to our every need and request. The food was fantastic and service excellent: Irving the manager at MiCarisa was so gracious and our breakfast server Luis was a joy every morning remembering our preferences after one visit! Oscar did a great job serving us twice at Avec. Estefania was amazing with service at Cuete 7! And Susanna made us so welcome at the Grill. Lucia and William took good care of us at the Quiet Pool. We enjoyed a round of golf at Hard Rock Playacar Golf Course. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa each getting two massages and time in the hydrotherapy- Yolanda was the best! We enjoyed the special mixology menus in every restaurant and the arts and crafts experiences. We will certainly return again soon!

A lovely vacation
This resort is quiet and relaxing because it is adults only. My room was lovely. The outside part of my room was a lovely lounge area that led to a shared pool that I used a lot. The pool was shared by the people that rented rooms in that area, which was about ten rooms. My friends and family were my immediate neighbors, so we spent lots of time in that pool. The highlight of the trip was going to the Coba city with the Mayan temples. I walked through the jungle with a great group led by a great tour guide, Ana. It was a fun and eye opening tour that finished by meeting a Mayan shaman, eating an authentic meal, and jumping in a beautiful natural pool called a cenote. I even saw monkeys. Back at the resort, the staff that was responsible for taking care of our big group, was excellent. Israel and Berenice were so available to meet any requests we had. They were very friendly too. Other people that made a positive impression include Sebastian and Alejandro. They led pool activities such as pool volleyball.

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at Unico. The resort is beautiful, clean and accommodating. This was our third visit to Unico. We loved going to the main building bar before and after dinner. The room was very clean and comfortable. We did upgrade our room to a swim out which cost an additional 800.00. Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy the upgrade due to the terrible sewer odor outside of our room. I believe the sewage system was located right behind our room which was close to the main building. I complained to the front desk three different times and was offered no solution. We also were told we would have a butler to help with dinner and excursion reservations which was not the case. Several times we were approach at the pool and asked if our butler had been in contact with us. While trying to discuss this at check out, we were told that the butler had reached out to us numerous times and we did not respond. That was simply not the case. They also stated that they would not refund the upgrade because they did not see that we had previously complained about the odor. This was very disappointing and not at all expected since we had never had an issue there. Unfortunately, we will not be going back.
