  Unico 20 87 Riviera Maya

  We went to Unico 20 87 in Riviera Maya, the resort is a slice of heaven on earth. It’s very peaceful with a lot of activities. The Butler service we received from Javier and Rodrigo was a 10 out of 10. They were extremely friendly and attentive to every need and request. They never missed a beat and worked well as a team. The restaurants were amazing especially the French restaurant called Avec.

  A Perfect 10 Days at UNICO 2087

  We’ve just returned from an incredible 10‑day stay at UNICO 2087 and honestly had the best time. From the stunning sunrises each morning, made even better with a peaceful walk along the beach, to the fantastic variety of restaurants, everything exceeded our expectations. The wildlife at the resort really adds to the jungle vibes and gave us plenty to talk about - the cheeky coatis and iguanas in particular. The room was amazing, it was perfectly clean, well stocked with the complimentary minibar and snack basket and the housekeeping did such a great job at keeping it that way for our whole trip. The turndown service was always so perfect. The balcony tub with amazing scents for bubbles and bath salts was the highlight of our trip. There were a number of events hosted at the hotel during our stay, weddings and business groups. Regardless, they did not take away from our enjoyment and relaxation. The resort do well to keep private events private, and loud music seemed to end by a reasonable time. A huge thank you to the amazing team who made our trip so special. Luis, our local host, was so friendly, easy to chat to, incredibly knowledgeable and so generous with his time. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Luisa at the lobby bar, along with Adriana, made every pre‑dinner drink feel like an occasion. Both were warm, efficient and always welcomed us with big smiles. Elena in the spa gave a wonderful facial. It was such a relaxing and luxurious experience. Spa credits made this more affordable - if we were paying full price we would've liked to enjoy the full spa facilities with more freedom. It felt a little rushed at times and could have benefitted from a tour or better explanation of what was included and what wasn't. Brian, the pool concierge, made setting up our sun loungers completely stress‑free and was always so welcoming each day. The whole team at both La Escondida and La Unica pool bars made our lounging and dining experiences so enjoyable, a special thanks to Timoteo for looking after us on our final few days. A special thank you as well to Luis at Mi Carisa for breakfast, who made our final morning extra special and truly went above and beyond to meet our needs. UNICO 2087 delivers not only a beautiful setting and outstanding food, but genuinely exceptional service. We would not hesitate to return. It really was a holiday to remember.

  Rivera Mya unico

  Top tier resort in a beautiful location. Rooms were very spacious and beautiful appointed. Food was plentiful with a lot of choices and quality was top notch. Edward and Roger our butler's were excellent.

  Excellent experience in the Mexican Caribbean

  It was my first time visiting UNICO, and we loved everything - from the service upon arrival to my host Axel. He helped me with everything I needed and provided excellent recommendations, personalization, mixology, etc. Our favorite restaurant was Mura House. Great authentic variety across the menu.

  Almost heavenly

  The hotel is beautiful, spacious and grand. It is adjacent to both a lovely beach and jungle. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The food was overall very good - one restaurant was excellent. I felt pampered, safe and largely awed by the beauty of the environs. That said, the hotel corridors are open to the adjacent jungle and so there are raccoon sized 'coati' that come onto the concrete corridor floors. They're cute looking but urinate and defecate on the floors so the poor staff has to continually clean after them and guests often have to side step waste. Inexplicably, hotel guests put trays of food out onto the corridor in front of their rooms - leaving food for the coatis which congregate in large groups eat it- so on top of the waste, there is the food that gets dragged from trays. I recommend the hotel find a different way of collecting room service. Our bedspread didn't seem clean. Maybe if the staff weren't perpetually taxed with cleaning up after the animals, greater attention could be paid to housekeeping (but they were very attentive to fixing the bed, replenishing bottled water and snacks, cleaning the bathroom!). Events are hosted at the hotel and they can be noisy but they're fun looking, don't run particularly late and once in your room, you don't notice it. The value is quite good coming from the US. It is *fantastic* nice that your meals are included!! That said, you have to be very proactive about reservations and you need to have a room number to place a reservation (so memorize it!). There are fun day trips, many on site events, a great central bar/lounging area (even a pool table :-)) and amenities including a lovely spa to enjoy. It's almost heavenly, they just need to find a better way to handle the animals. The staff are so nice despite the challenges.
