Simply not as good as the FitzWilliam Hotel in the city. The downstairs areas are better. The bar area is lovely but the corridors to the rooms are dingy and the standard room (321) was very poor. The shower head was covered in mould and consequently didn’t work very well at all. The room backed onto a brick wall and the noise of a generator all night really ruined our experience. The kids were opposite in room 322 and whilst they had a better views, they had much the same experience. The breakfast buffet was really bad and was shameful compared to the options and al a carte options for breakfast at the FW.

We arrived on NYE excited about the forthcoming evening ahead. The welcome was good then it was downhill from then on unfortunately. The room we had was large but like a fridge on entry but told to wait for it to warm up by reception. The bath was small and never kept the water in as plug was faulty. Onto the included dinner package with entertainment!!! Well it was a fiasco from minute one with food orders all mixed up and wrong food to wrong tables then asked 20 minutes later what we had ordered. Food was ok but cold and ordinary. The entertainment was average to say the least. No disrespect but I’d say the staff were very young and inexperienced on low incomes so not good prep by the hotel. If you say your food is the best I’d say employ the best first of all. The breakfast team were far better I must say so I would say not the best value for money so I would probably opt for a more upmarket hotel in the city in the future. We were not even asked how are stay was on departure I guess they probably knew what was coming. But hey that’s all I have to say about THAT.

Festive afternoon tea on Christmas Eve. A really lovely chilled couple of hours. Great food and fab front of house in Matthew who was extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Will look to do this again in the year ahead

Just a wonderful stay & experience
Amazing from start to finsh, from time of check in until we left. The staff are just wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, full of knowledge, beautiful standard room, amazing buffet breakfast. Hotel is full of history and information, just worth taking the time to explore & read everything. Location from Belfast City airport 8 minutes via taxi. Local bus stop taking you into town just across the road. Would highly recommend a visit.

A must see!
Fabulous! The attention to detail is second to none..we loved it! Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so comfortable..we will be back, for sure! 😃
