  Incredible stay at this beautiful hotel with outstanding staff and service!

  I had an amazing stay at the Westin Excelsior in Rome last month. I have visited Rome many times, but this was my first visit to this gorgeous hotel. When I entered the beautiful lobby, I was immediately greeted by Riccardo at the front desk, whose customer service was absolutely outstanding. He immediately made me feel so very welcome, and his warmth and genuine concern for his guests was remarkable. Myself being a retired customer service agent for a major airline, I always recognize and appreciate exceptional customer service-Riccardo delivers this above and beyond. When I arrived to my room, I was truly overwhelmed. It was absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful view of Rome. I truly did not want to leave the room, it was so beautiful! The location of the Westin Excelsior is fantastic-you are so close to the Spanish Steps, and it was wonderful exploring that area. Riccardo and Mattille at the front desk continued to assist me with recommendations in the area. I honestly cannot say enough about how fantastic and special this stay was for me. It is because of the outstanding service I received from Riccardo, Mattille, and the entire staff, that made this one of the most memorable stays of my life. Thank you so very much , and I cannot wait to return to your beautiful hotel.

  This was, by far, our worst experience in a 5-star hotel.

  We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel as Titanium members, and we were honestly shocked by the poor condition of the room and the level of service. This was, by far, our worst experience in a 5-star hotel. The room was completely run-down: there was leakage in the bathroom, old furniture, a bedside lamp not working, outdated plugs, and a very old TV that didn’t work. There were basically no amenities, and the room was dusty. Service was just as disappointing. One day, housekeeping completely forgot to service our room, and we had to call twice before anything was done. It’s honestly hard to understand how this hotel can be classified as a 5-star property.

  The Grande Dame of Rome hotels.

  Beautiful, old world hotel on the Via Veneto, centrally located. In the 1960s and 70s, this is where the so-called jet set stayed. Our room was huge, very clean, nicely furnished. One complaint: we were on an upper floor (5th?) and the air conditioning wasn't working well. Room was warm and stuffy, so we kept the window open, which let in noise from the Veneto below. Thankfully, it was mid-October. Good restaurant for lunch/dinner on street level.

  The Westin Excelsior Rome is an elegant, classic hotel that captures the timeless charm of old Rome. From the moment you step into the lobby, it feels like traveling back to a more glamorous era. The hotel has a rich history, having served as a backdrop for numerous films and hosting many stars and celebrities over the years. The staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive, providing outstanding customer service throughout the stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and decorated in warm, traditional colors with classic wallpaper. While some furnishings feel slightly dated, the comfort more than makes up for it. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are large and well-appointed.
