How this hotel has plunged to mediocracy. Do not stay here.
I came with my family with nice expectations of this hotel. Having stayed in many Westins across the world and owning a couple of travel enterprises it looked like a good option for staying multiple nights. How wrong I was: The good points: Great restaurant, bar and some staff, well done to them. The bad points: 1. Dirty room. Complained Friday. Front desk manager aftertime returning from his conflab with colleagues behind the desk partition (5 mins)., I told him my issues. Room not cleaned, dirty glasses left, dirty headboards, bathrooms mirror stained etc. His response, do you wish it to be cleaned now? That phrases says it all in a so called 5 star hotel. Anyhow he did nothing. 2. Many hours later, Friday night about 7 p.m. asked same front desk for meeting to see manger Saturday. Front desk told me he would email the manager but would not know until 9.30 Saturday. I said O.K. let me know, I then available early or in the afternoon 3. Friday night, zero response by 17.30. Went to front desk, new manager. Asked when will I get to meet the manager. Oh the manager does not work Saturday so it will be Monday Moral of the story. If you have any problems that get unresolved by Westin Excelsior the Complex General Manager called Marc is unreachable and I was told by the front desk there is no understudy. Westin should be ashamed to allow such a once fine hotel degrade to mediocracy under lazy and blasé attitudes. It wasn't the dirty room and poor housekeeping but the vision of nobody giving a damn that made me decide, never again for this pathetic attempt at being a 5 star hotel. Would love to have met the manager but unfortunately in hiding until Monday.

Cruise Extension with Viking
Hotel was set up through Viking Cruises and the property is very nice. The buffet that they set up was extensive but average outside of the fresh honeycomb which was marvelous. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom could use a bit of maintenance as some of the seals were getting worn.

Ask him for his Italy and Sicily recommendations
Riccardo was the best arrival experience I have ever had! Ask him for his Sicily and Rome recommendations! He is the best. I highly suggest asking for Riccado my name when you check in. I am staying here for three more nights largely due to him and his guest service. Extraordinaire

A Masterclass in Hospitality Excellence
This place understands the art of hospitality. The seamless blend of professional service and personal touches created an unforgettable experience. From the welcoming atmosphere in the lobby to the comfortable and well-appointed rooms, every aspect was carefully considered. The staff's genuine interest in ensuring guest satisfaction was evident in their attentive but unobtrusive service.
- AdvisoryPrices are based on single or double occupancy. You will incur additional charges at the time of check-in for additional room occupants. The Front Desk will verify the age of the guest to determine whether the extra fee would apply.
- AdvisoryEffective with stays of Jan 1, 2011 and beyond, the city of Rome has imposed a new tourism tax.
