Dec 28, 2025Great location to relax, not a fit to luxury Westin brand identity to set the right expectations
Location and its atmosphere is great. This is our 4th year here and the building is getting old and requires significant upgrade; HVAC systems are too loud, elevator is unpredictable, water pressure drops significantly late afternoon, all wooden frames around doors are rotted and provides access to insects. Restaurant menus are decent but it becomes boring if you stay more than 3-4 days. The service was excellent especially at the Cozumil Restaurant and wait staff Ananias, Roberto and Vicky. Breakfast is mediocre compared to European style hotel buffets and very similar to what you get in lower segment hotels in US, sliced cheese and bacon. No consideration for Mediterranean, Indian and Middle Eastern customers. Outages with certain food items and drinks show that hotel management and its supply chain have major gaps. Closing the pool for a day due to a bee hive under a chair and firefighters showing up in for a rescue mission was hilarious.

A sea of sweet with a very small drop of sour
The location of the hotel is magnificent and the property is much better than the other hotels in the north region of Cozumel, as far as what I saw through walks on the beachside. The atmosphere of the hotel was very relaxing and vibrant which is exactly what you expect from a resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Virginia and Alex from beachside service who really made the time by the beach enjoyable through their awesome service. Margarita and Angel at Las Gaviotas were also very nice and professional. However, by far the most exceptional service was from Ananias, Roberto and Jorge Miguel at Cuzamil Restaurant who were very attentive, funny and professional all at the same time. The rooms were good but there was some problems with the water from the shower head as it was too slow and the AC would start randomly without us doing anything. The manager at Las Gaviotas for breakfast and lunch was very rude and was definitely the most disappointing part of the trip.

Wonderful experience, beautiful spa, and excellent massage therapist! Ruth gave me a very relaxing Swedish massage, which included warm towels, essential oils, and ocean view! Hot tea and shower in their beautiful facility was the perfect ending! Highly recommend!!

Dulce in housekeeping was amazing! Our room was kept clean, nightly turn down service and cute, folded towels for decoration. The rest of our stay was a disappointment. I am lifetime Platinum Elite and received none of the benefits. The pool area does not have enough chairs and the snake bar food is just okay. We have stayed here many times and this will probably be the last time.

Relaxing Break
My husband and I tried for the first time The Westin all inclusive. We have been to Cozumel many times at all inclusive resorts. This is our new favorite. The check in and out was quick and simple with no time share trickery. The resort was small and beautiful. All, and I do mean all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Especially Gilberto at the front desk. Our room was on the 9th floor. It was on the smallish side but perfect. Clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. The view was amazing. Each day it was cleaned and replenished to our liking. My only complaint, if you can really complain, was it was cold. I know right. This never happens in Mexico. We had to daily turn off the AC to warm it up. The pool was nice and never too busy. The water was very cold. The pool on the Sky Deck was beautiful. Both were maintained well. The beach was good. Plenty of chairs and great service from any chair. Last but not least the food. We are not foodies but have been burned recently in Cozumel at a different resort. The food was way above our expectations. Lots of choices and great tasting. We tried all options- both restaurants, snack area at the pool, and room service. We had good food in all the areas. We plan on returning to this resort and bring friends and family. W
