  Making Dubai Functional

  The hotel is beautiful and in a great downtown location. I have to say that it’s probably more of a business hotel than a recreational hotel. The swimming pool has about 20 chaise lounge chairs, and only 8 of them have shade. Believe me, shade is something you’ll want in Dubai. Three quarters of the pool is in the shade though. But hey, if you’re in Dubai, there are better things to do than sit by the pool. It does have a great view though and service. I have to give a shout out to the Desk Manager Ahmed Abdullah. We tried to get an upgrade and use our Bonvoy upgrades. But when I called Bonvoy, they said there were none available. That being said a week before the trip, the hotel kept sending me emails saying upgrades were available, (at a fee of course). I wasn’t able to upgrade which means my miles expire worthless, but Ahmed, was very gracious in his explanation and we had a very nice room anyway. I’m not sure the upgrades from Bonvoy have much if any value. Also Anthony the Concierge was fantastic. He did a great job arranging and making reservations for us (referred to as bookings down there). We will miss his incredible smile and positive attitude. When you visit reach out to him before you arrive so he has more flexibility since some things sell out. Everyone at the concierge desk was incredible and never too busy to help. A few other hints are: for some reason the hair dryer can’t be used in the bathroom. It’s a design flaw. It’s not world ending, but my wife had to dry her hair next to the TV which can be distracting. When you’re brought to your room, ask for help with the light switches. The light switches for our suite weren’t in the bathroom, but by the front door and at the side of the bed. It’s just something to keep in mind. Final point, the hotel is downtown so a lot of the things to see and do are near the hotel. But Jumeirah is also a great place to stay since a lot of activities are in that area. Traffic can be horrible. So pick a hotel close to what you’d like to do. At 7 PM, it took our cab 35 minutes to go less than 2 miles. It is not a walkable city.

  Best concierge service and overall experience!!

  Had the most amazing experience at the hotel for my birthday, I got assigned the most wonderful butler (Ayra) she and her colleague Ali organised me a beautiful welcoming with roses, chocolates, a bubble bath and pictures in frames ♥️ they made it so special and Ayra made sure to pay close attention to my needs the whole stay, from begginjng to end it was perfect! I really appreciate her and Ali’s work and the rest of the hotel! we will be back !!!
