  Lovely Tropical Resort

  This hotel is just lovely. If you are looking for a family friendly, beautiful tropical resort then this is the place. We are a couple in our 60s, and while there were plenty of families with young children there are multiple places for quiet time by the pool. The attention to detail by the cleaning staff was excellent and the quality of bedding and towels was very, very good. Hemmingway's restaurant is right on the beach and the food is excellent. Dining can be as casual or as resort apparel as you want because the food will be consistently good. I saw the other reviews mention construction and I won't lie, it is noticeable and is why I gave it a 4 star review (although I really wanted to give a five star). Having said that it did not take away from relaxing by the pool. I may be less sensitive than others, but I wouldn't make it a show-stopper. Overall, we would come back, and probable bring our grandkids as well.

  We came. We saw. And we left!!!

  We had two rooms reserved. Our one bedroom “ocean view” suite had a very strong smell of mold. As the resort manager was showing the room to us, I pointed it out right away. He said he’d send the housekeeping and maintenance. He himself took a peak at the AC as soon as I pointed it out (he knew it was the AC). Later when we came back with our bags, what we found was that the maintenance didn’t do anything and that housekeeping simply sprayed some sort of a cleaning product all over the place. The mold smell was still so strong that we couldn’t bear sitting in the room for 5 minutes. We asked for an upgrade, downgrade, any change possible since we have members in our family with respiratory allergies. The management did not offer any chance of a change with or without additional payment whatsoever. We had no option but to pick up our bags and leave. We got no refund for our fully paid 2 suites. This hotel was supposedly renovated recently. It still requires plenty of work. It’s severely outdated. The remodel was a “lipstick on a pig” type. And don’t get fooled by the “ocean view” rooms. You can barely have a glimpse of the ocean through the trees and bushes that surround the property.

  Love the Sands at Grace Bay Turks and Caicos

  I just returned from my second trip to Turks and Caicos’s last week. We stayed at the Sands at Grace Bay( second time) for a beautiful five night stay and it was incredible !!! Greeted by a very helpful staff , Robyn, Meshell , Diana and many more who catered to our every day needs , housekeeping was very accommodating and pleasant and did a wonderful job . We had dinner and drinks at Hemingways which I along with countless others strongly recommend. Caroline , Lorenzo, Scott and the rest of the staff day and night were simply amazing .Breakfast was delicious , dinner just as great. Had the shrimp penne pasta , chicken pasta all fabulous!!! l I cannot wait to return next year to enjoy the beautiful resort, their accommodations and one of the best beaches in the world, Grace Bay Beach. Thank you all so much for making our stay such a memorable one !!!!!❤️🙏

  Vacation Time

  We had a lovely stay at The Sands at Grace Bay and look forward to returning. The property is beautiful, the beach is stunning, and Hemingway’s Restaurant was a highlight with excellent food and service. A special thank you to Michelle, the Front Office Supervisor, who was incredibly helpful and patient with all of our questions, and to Oral, the Head Bell Captain, who was professional and genuinely happy to assist. They both made a real difference in our experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A few small areas for improvement would be clearer website photos that accurately reflect room types, better communication about which building has elevator access, and a more consistently welcoming tone at reception. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

  Mixed review due to noise

  Overall a good location and clean rooms. For TCI this is a good value. Building assignment makes a difference. Building 4 is right next to new construction and unit 4301 is right at the kitchen prep area for Hemingway’s. Building 3 offers a much better view and no construction noise. Units are privately owned and furnishings vary. We also noted a major discrepancy in room size and bed size between the primary and secondary bedroom. If you cannot manage stairs, the only elevator equipped building is 3. I would recommend a top floor for view. Service staff were friendlier than front desk staff. Hemingway’s is very good. It is about 15 minute walk on sidewalks to many restaurants. Beach is beautiful. Unfortunately chairs are reserved as early as 6:30 am. Same with pool chairs but there was at least turnover in afternoon. Very family friendly. Other guests at Ed also friendly.
