    Excellent stay in family suites

Short family stay to get a few days sunshine and booked last minute. Have stayed here several times before Stayed in the club family suites - 2 interconnecting rooms and with an outdoor pool and garden. This new concept is really superb and family really enjoyed We greatly enjoyed the restaurants - Txoko and El Mirador both fantastic with great selections The new club concept is very good but the lunch presentation is not as good as previously when it was inside el mirador. Good gym. Used the tennis facilities daily which are excellent and the hotel concierge will drop and return Highly recommended

    Very good for the weekend

Deluxe room at the Citadel is very spacious, clean and felt luxurious. Just what you need when in Tenerife for 3 days. Breakfast is included in our rate and the selection is superb and service was great especially from Monica. There are 6 pools in total though we spent most our time in the main pool. Also make sure you visit their beautiful beach

Very enjoyable and relaxing 10 day stay at hotel

Stayed here for 10 nights. Booked a sea view room which was great with a large bed, large sofa and extension as well as comfortable chairs and table on the balcony. Great to watch the sunset and to chill out during the day. Bathroom very large with separate bath and toilet and a rainfall shower cubicle. Plenty of storage space and a large safe. Very good air conditioning. Has large tv with some UK channels including BBC news and Sky news. Housekeeping was very efficient. Used the quiet pool at the side of the hotel near the spa a few times and always found a spot with the help of the attendants. Ordered food and drinks one day which was delivered to our beds and was decent. Three days we went to the beach on the mini train from the hotel which runs every 30 mins from 10 - 6. It’s like those ones you find on seafronts and takes just over 5 mins. Hotel has a section of the beach with beds and umbrellas and a desk with attendants who sort your towels and a spot. There is a bar and restaurant although we didn’t use these and toilets. Get there early as it gets busy we went on the 1st train and it was fine. Sea was rough 1st day so not ideal for swimming but there are lifeguards and flags to let you know whether it’s safe. Other two days was fine as one of us is into sea swimming and found it ideal within the lagoon off the beach. Ate at the Italian restaurant where food was excellent although had to book to get a table each time. We ordered room service a few times as we preferred eating early and relaxing on the balcony. Food was excellent and came very promptly. We also ate late lunch at the golf club which is not part of the hotel but you can get the shuttle there and back from the lobby less than 5mins. Food was very good and views are fantastic. Breakfast at the hotel is one of the best we have encountered in many years travelling with a wide selection of all kinds which is plentiful and is kept stocked up. We looked forward to it each day and was one of the highlights of the trip. They serve a lot of guests but there are plenty of tables inside and out and it doesn’t feel over busy. We found the WiFi fine throughout the hotel and even at the beach although didn’t opt for the upgrade so some downloads were slow but was fine for what we needed. Used the gym most days which is good and wasn’t busy when we went and there is plenty of water available. Also had treatment in the spa which was of a very good standard. Played some rounds of golf which I had to organise directly with the pro shop as it’s not part of the hotel prior to arriving. They gave me a rate as a hotel guest and found me slots to play as part of a four ball as it was the busiest time of the year. They will store clubs for you and the next time they were already on the buggy when I arrived. Course is challenging, steep and narrow in parts so 1st time lost a few balls but got familiar with the course and played better subsequently. Greens are hardest I have played on for a long time with different levels and easy to putt off the front and back down the fairway on some holes. Overall we rate the hotel highly and would definitely recommend it and would choose it again. Tips Water in room and we kept bottles which you can fill up with filtered water in the pool bars, at the beach and gym but they do have bottles for guests at the pools and beach. Book early for restaurants.

Beginning to show signs of suffering from its popularity

Have been coming here for past several years and am coming to the end of a 2 week stay now. Have to say that the Resort is now showing signs of suffering from its popularity. I am Bonvoy Gold Elite member and had in the past, been offered room upgrades and been made to feel that Management were keen to look after us. Now, despite writing several times to try to ensure that we were allocated a nice room ( and beware, there are nice and not -so-nice rooms!) it was clear that no effort had been made to try to ensure that we were allocated to a decent room. Fortunately, our trip was saved by a fantastically helpful lady - Fatima Maroun - who understood our needs and made a great effort to ensure that we were happy with our room. As for restaurants, food - especially in Verona - is generally of very good quality. Food in Verde Mar is good but they have a ridiculous rip-off policy with their wine list. Cheapest bottle of white wine was 39 euros but it was not available (!) and the next available bottle was significantly more expensive than that! Thank you once again Fatima Maroun for making our stay a pleasant one!

Spectacular Resort in an amazing place!

This is a spectacular property in an amazing location. The grounds are designed as a breathtaking resort, which goes from the golf course down to the sea. The staff were amazing and looked after every single detail. The food (half board plan) was absolutely stunning, including the Michelin starred restaraunt (s). We had a spectacular meal at M.B, one of the two Michelin starred restaraunts. We could have spent the whole week without leaving the property, but there were lots of other things to do in the area. The spa was particularly nice, with an incredible view and great facilities. I would love to return to this amazing resort.
