Great pool bar
Beach is a very short walk away and they give you complimentary chairs and towels. The water and sand are beautiful and won't disappoint. But the reason for this post is that the pool bar was great. Joe the bartender was the man, coldest Nooners in Florida.

The best beach with the best staff!
My family has been coming to LBKC for 20+ years. It is our home away from home! The beach is beautiful, the rooms are clean, the resort offers a multitude of amenities, but the kindness from the staff is what truly makes this resort stand out. Specifically the “dream team” Paula and Ania at the pool! They take basic service to an extraordinary level. They truly go above and behind by understanding family value and adding a personal touch to their work. They always attentive by recognizing small details and asking about personal events. They make the pool deck and beach the most friendly and comfortable space. They love their job, and it shows! They are truly the heart and soul of the guests! They make it harder and harder to leave. You must visit this resort and meet the both of them, your life will be changed! And trust me, you will be back! -The Franco family

Bullied by front desk manager
Can a front desk manager ruin a 5 day stay at a beautiful resort with an otherwise friendly, always accommodating and professional staff? Unfortunately yes. I spent 5 days at the Resort on Longboat Key. When I brought up a midnight disturbance that I previously reported to a front desk manager, she initially became very defensive and then aggressive. “This conversation is over” she said. I asked to talk to a supervisor, in an attempt to deescalate, but she refused and told me she is the supervisor! Then things got from bad to worse, as she ordered me to leave the lobby. She started following me through the lobby, initially to the amusement of some of the hotel guests, but then to everybody’s embarrassment. She got in my space and tried to prevent me from talking to the front desk. “These are my employees, you cannot talk to them” she said, while extending her arms around me in an attempt to restrict my movement. An abusive and totally unacceptable behavior in any setting, but even more so in a resort that claims to be 4 star. And the most disappointing part is that the hotel management does not seem to care.

Longboat prices don't align with guest experiece.
We are seasoned travelers preferring 5-star hotels. We have returned to Longboat Resort for its many pluses. Gated, gorgeous beach setting, turquoise water, better than average suites with washers/dryers, kitchens, glass showers, blue decor accents tropical landscaping, friendly staff, and more. This time there were some minuses that made our stay less enjoyable. Dirty floors, dings and scrapes needing paint. Romantic sunset dinner spoilers including blasting rock and roll and bare bottoms in thongs at outdoor bars adjoining the only onsite restaurant. At $700-$1,400 a night plus $40/nt resort “fee,” these minuses don’t add up to 5-star. Maintenance/Housekeeping: -Some balcony doors won’t lock!! Experienced twice in 2 years. -Dirty Floors. Bare feet and white slippers literally black after a day! The maid mopped again, still not clean. We wondered if they used wet dirty mops from room to room which spreads germs. Families had toddlers who no doubt were playing on the floors. The front desk seemed alarmed and said they would alert the supervisor. -Bathroom. Spotted shower glass daily, sometimes bathroom counter/floors not cleaned, no replacement soap for worn-out soap. Had to ask for toilet and face tissue. -Dirty corners, dinged moulding, and walls that need paint touch up on scrapes and spots. -Beds. All pillows are tiny standard size not king - most lumpy. Bed linens are not five star. The maids often left the long decorative bed pillow on the dresser. Often we had to call to have the room cleaned despite the Clean Room sign on our door. -Romantic dinner spoilers that don’t align with the nightly room rates! The adjacent pool/bar blasts rock and roll music from the radio. Bare bottoms in thong bathing suits back right up to diners’ tables where couples are often dressed for a nice sunset dinner. What happened to romantic dinner settings, romantic music after 5, and cover-ups for decency? Longboat could enforce cover ups or pass out robes if ladies “forgot” their cover-up. -Wedding Parties - Twice in a week, entire wedding parties hosted crowded cocktail parties standing at the indoor bar adjacent to the dining room. That tripled the noise level. We went offsite for romantic dinners. The resort could place these parties in private meeting rooms or offsite areas within Longboat Club. What’s more important to the resort - guests who return year after year to pay $700-$1,400/night or allowing one-time boisterous wedding parties to spoil returning guests experience? On our next visit we will take a serious look at private condo rentals rather than the resort.

MOST AMAZING TIME WITH MY WIFE!!!
The Longboat Key Club and Resort was so amazing. The beach sands were pristine and the water was so clear and such a beautiful color I was personally mind blown being from NY! You can see wild manatee and dolphins everyday from your balcony which was so cool! The spa was so relaxing we got a massage and a hydro facial, they have a really nice steam room as well! There’s plenty to do in the area as well one thing was the Mote Aquarium which was super cool and a good dive bar the Old Salty Dog across from the aquarium! The views are amazing no matter where you are and the service from the hotel staff was wonderful. The rooms are bright, airy and refreshing to say the least. We really enjoyed our time here relaxing on our honeymoon. We will be back for sure!!! Thank you so much! The pics are from our room and the resort!
