Good boutique hotel in central location
A small, good run boutique hotel, which belongs to the Renaissance Group. The service is very friendly and personal. The rooms are very nicely decorated and clean. Due to some bars in the area, you can not sleep with open windows. But these are well soundproofed and with air conditioning it goes quite well. It is problematic with parking, as only a few parking spaces are available. You have to switch to nearby parking garages. But the downtown location is great.

Better Than Expected!
We traveled to Lucerne with our good friend to celebrate his 70th birthday. Everything about our week-long stay was truly wonderful from check-in to check-out. The front desk staff—Maura, Simeon, Florian, Giselle, Sophie—were all so pleasant and professional. Breakfast each morning in the restaurant was superb. Mazzi and Monica took excellent care of us with perfectly cooked eggs and omelettes. Both girls also have delightful personalities ☺️. The entire staff we encountered at The Hotel made us feel very welcome, and were quite helpful with dinner reservations and in recommending sights to see/places to go during our time there. Our room was beautiful, clean, quiet, and well-appointed. Can’t think of a single negative!

Disappointed - terrible technology.
I hate to have to write a bad review, and I’d love to be able to give this property more stars as the staff were great, but we were disappointed with our stay. Pros: - location - Rooms were clean - we were upgraded and the suite was spacious (bathroom was nothing special). Cons: - The WiFi didn’t work. It would disconnect every 5 minutes and when it was connected it was slow. On top of that, cell service wasn’t great so using the internet wasn’t good. - the TV is not a Smart TV. There are no apps and only about 10 cable channels (3 news channels in English but nothing else). Much of the menu is disabled as well so switching the TV to English was a huge challenge. There is screen mirroring but our devices could never find the TV to connect (most likely because of the WiFi problem above). - the hotel was noisy. I chose this property over the Renaissance as I read the music was obnoxious at that hotel. Come to find out, this hotel also had a loud music problem the night we were there. I heard techno music for hours while trying to fall asleep.

Location good, rest medium ....
Friendly welcome, precise briefing; parking situation difficult around the hotel (therefore top get one of the two courtyard parking spaces), we had two rooms (normal 2bed and suite). The corner suite on the 4th floor has a. great view, the decoration based on movies has something. Otherwise narrow corridors, partly you can see the house the years after the last renovation; no gym (😳), breakfast is really frugal for a house of such kindness and price; borderline the 120 SFR per night for the 3 person in the suite (and without breakfast). Have been an ambassador for years, and have seen some autograph hotels, this one ranks at the bottom. We'll try the Renaissance next time.

Worth it for the location and staff, though not perfect
A mixed bag of thoughts on this hotel so I’ll break it out by category: Location: 5 stars. Hotel is located in a spot that can’t be beat to visit Lucerne. Easily accessible during the day to come back and freshen up and on a quieter side street with many restaurants that feel more for locals than tourists. Loved the location and also very easy walk from train station and to old town. Like less than half a mile. Staff: 5 stars also for the staff who were very friendly and eager to help. Hotel amenities and common spaces: 2 stars. The hotel is a sister property of a renaissance down the street so the gym available is the gym in the renaissance. However, i think an autograph collection needs its own on site fitness situation. Additionally the lobby is nearly nonexistent with just 2 couches. Hallways are very brutalist style feeling with red walls. On site dining/bar: 2 stars. The breakfast was lovely and the staff there were very friendly. No complaints on breakfast. However the lounge/ bar as heavily advertised by Marriott for this site are kind of a fake out. The bar is always empty because it does not allow people who are not hotel guests to visit although it is beautiful and enticing from the outside and draws people in only to be told it’s only for guests. However if you’re a guest it feels awkward to go to the bar because the front desk staff have to make the drinks. There is no bartender and it is not a welcoming area. Room: 3 stars. We got a suite upgrade (we were happy they honored our Marriott titanium status and did this) but the suite was not a suite at all. It was just a larger room (normal sized for American standards.) It had a larger bathroom that included a tub but there was no separate seating area. Otherwise room was clean and maintained with ample storage and a refrigerator and coffee.
