Now - Mar 31, 2015 - Warren's Blackboard Restaurant is closed for renovations to transform into 'The Front Yard'. In its place, the hotel has created The Courtyard Canteen, adjacent to the Lobby Bar. This is a full-service restaurant with the same hours of operation, serving all meal periods including a full American breakfast buffet. During this time, the hotel will not have room service but instead offer a pick-up option at The Canteen Courtyard with menus in room.

This hotel is gorgeous. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room, two queen beds with a balcony was beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower was powerful and it had everything we wanted. The swimming pool is lovely. There are two hot tubs, one for children and one for adults. There are always towels and sun lounges / chairs available. In the evening they show a film on a projector which is fun. The gym has everything you need and can be accessed 24/7 They do a free shuttle to Universal Studios leaving the hotel every hour and collecting from Universal City Walk every quarter past the hour up until 10.15pm. you can also book to be dropped at the Metro bus station. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

A Lovely Hotel
A lovely Hotel. Room was lovely. Staff were great particularly Danielle at the pool bar and the Asian guy running the shuttle bus. Hotel is very clean and close to Universal with a free shuttle running. Lovely pool area and a very pleasant restaurant. We were very sad to leave but will go again next time we are in LA.

Hidden gem!
Absolutely magnificent. The staff puts this place at the top. The hotel has so much personality. Nightly swims with movies for the kids, trolley to universal and back, comfortable rooms. This is a hidden gem. Shout out to bartender Bayron for remarkable service!!

Amazing from start to finish !
We wanted a safe area to stay and picked Universal studios, we didn’t want to spend a fortune on large hotels. After checking trip advisor we found The Garland hotel near to Universal studios. On arrival we were delighted. The staff are so friendly. The hotel is a boutique style hotel. The pool, restaurant, bedrooms in fact everything was amazing. A big bonus is the shuttle to Universal studios. We will stay again.

Can't wait to visit again in the future
Well what can I say? From the minute we walked in nothing was too much trouble. The staff go above and beyond and everybody who passed you gave a smile and a friendly hello. The room was immaculate and the beds and pillows were the best. The room was serviced every day and well equipped with a little fridge and coffee machine as well as coffee, sugar etc. It was lovely to have a balcony to sit out and have coffee on in the morning. The shuttle bus to Universal Studios was a great touch too. The pool and bar area were amazing with plenty of fresh towels to use, sitting in the hot tub under the stars was heaven and the films of an evening were lovely. Cocktails are delicious. Can't wait to visit again in the future, loved it.
