Great stay at the Equus. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, and made it a great stay. Great location, walking distance to everything you could need. The room was wonderful; Clean, cozy, and comfortable. One of the best hotels in Waikiki!!

Excellent sized room, lovely big beds, large bathroom. Clean and well appointed. Friendly and obliging staff. Received a welcome drink at the outside bar area. Staff booked a taxi for us for next morning early flight. Best to know that there is no lift from the ground floor, so you have to carry your bags up the steps to reception (approx 16). Room being next to the pool area was a bit noisy due to several adults bombing the water and kids were squealing - no staff intervention that we were aware of.

Very comfortable. friendly place to be in
Very comfortable rooms. Extremely friendly and helpful front desk managers who went out of their way to give any help needed. They were GEM,s (Going the Extra Mile). Towels, tea/coffee etc, you name it. In fact when we checked in, the reception staff was managing to arrange a shower, towels and toiletries for a couple returning from the beach, who had already checked out earlier……..I’ve never seen that happen before. The staff atthe Paniolo Cafe and Bar were extremely friendly, efficient. A five star rating for them too.

Gem of a place!
A gem of a place with a “family” feeling where we saw and talked with consistent, helpful staff throughout our stay. Loved the focus on green environmental care and the simplicity of our well-kept room. It was not in the hustle and bustle area of Waikīkī, which we liked, but close to the local beach, shopping, restaurants and everything needed. It was also quite affordable with a pre-paid package. Highly recommend The Equus!

Waikiki as it should be
Good. May be the only accomodation left standing reminiscent of Honolulu and Waikiki of the 1960's and 1970's. Not a bad thing at all. No brass and marble, no gold-plated faucets, no up-market in-house dining. Bed was great, room was very tidy, larger than average, and quiet. Very good value for the price, and well-situated. Staff were very helpful, very connected.
