We are repeat guests as the hospitality at the Sonnenalp is so good. The hotel is family owned, and they pay close attention to detail. The housekeeping service is exceptional (a rarity post covid). There is an excellent choice of services from "budget" (this is Vail after all) to very fine dining.

European get-a-way right in the heart of Vail.
Our stay at the Sonnenalp was amazing. Anyone looking for a true Alpine feel, this is the hotel for you. Super charming; the staff was very friendly and accommodating; the location is very good; near shops and restaurants. This was my first stay at the Sonnenalp; I will definitely be going back again.

Like being in a storybook
We are from Vegas, have stayed in a lot of hotels, but Sonnenalp was by far one of the best we've stayed at. The service, the view, the well-kept and clean rooms, the food...all second to none. We were so impressed with the staff, from valet to front desk to Ludwigs Breakfast, concierge to check-out, they were amazing. I highly recommend. This property was so cozy and lovely, with the views and snowfall outside, it was like being in a storybook. We will be back. <3

This is always our first choice
We have stayed here roughly 10 times and have told friends and family about it. They are all hooked. Yes you could find fancy namebrand hotels but none of them would compete to this place. It’s luxury plus charm! It has European warmth. We’ve traveled extensively and stayed in many places, but this is always our favorite.

Our Anniversary Spot
Absolutely the Best! Welcome here since 3 years ago to celebrate our Anniversary! This year was no. 20th! The attention to taking care of our room, knowing us by name, being able to do our workouts, the Sauna, the Steam, the spa, the outdoor jacuzzis, the food!!! the fluffy towels, the shampoo and conditioner, all of the above, are just the best. Highly recommend 💕 Heated Floors and Personal fireplace, just so hard to choose out Favorite part of the whole experience. Sonnenlap staff really knows how to take care of you.
