Front Desk MARIA Saves The Day!
Maria gave exceptional customer service for me today! Being a travel agent i book a ton of rooms everywhere and sometimes front desk can be tricky to work with but not Maria! She went above and beyond for my needs and honestly she was super sweet and took care of everything in a timely manner. More front desk agents should learn from her as she was the hero of the day. Highly recommend this hotel for personal or business travel. Ive booked a group here before and my individual reservation and everyone is exceptionally nice to work with and I couldn't ask for a better hotel partner.

Don't be Fooled by the pictures
The overall facility was okay. The rooms were okay. There was no rack to place your luggage and no draw space. Check your sheets to ensure they have no spots. Mine did. Don't be fooled by the pictures. This is not a 4 star hotel. One of the elevators looked like a scene out of a crime movie and should not have been available to guess. The staff/housekeeping utilized the same elevators as the guess, which made it quite uncomfortable because the elevators are small. There were typically 2 elevators working at a time and took FOREVER to wait for one. The restaurant had only one staff member working and the food was often limited and if you ordered off the menu, the food was cold.

Overall good experience
Overall it was a decent experience however I did have a few issues. First there were 4 elevators but only 1 occasionally 2 worked so when we got out of meetings and we were tired we had a long wait to get all of us on the elevator. Also I've never been to a hotel with no dresser and no where to put our clothes! Lastly the water pressure is terrible and felt like we were barely being dripped on. I usually leave reviews online so was hoping for a better experience.

Pay 5- star, get 3-star
I chose Sonesta because of prior experiences with the 5-star Hilton Head location. The room was clean. But, this location was definitely in need of refurbishment. The ground floor looked impressive, but the room-floors were outdated, poorly designed, and poorly maintained. The plumbing was counter-intuiitve (hot and low-pressure or cold and high-pressure, hot first, cold last-- good luck). I could hear the residents in the next room as if they were in the bathroom with me. And the room was loud. The gap in the door felt like someone was always about to enter our room (see pictures for a feel for the badly needed room upkeep). They charge a lot of money, but are still using COVID as the excuse to default to no housekeeping, and a bottle of water costs $5. Stay here, and you'll pay 5-star prices for a 3-star hotel.

Be prepared to pay a deposit of $250 for each room you reserve and you won’t get it back for 5-7 business days.
They will nickel and dime you for everything there is a $250 deposit for each room not just the reservation. Water starts at $3.50, there is no microwave, and breakfast is like $20 for a plate. There are better places downtown to stay, that have better rooms, parking, and restaurants in and around
