    Rosewood will have you rinsed

The rooms are clean and smart. the room was kitted with beach bag and other goodies.. everything you need to feel prepared to be rinsed and then some... its a busy hotel and my 20 year old daughter and I were placed in the room near the entry/exit to the rooms our balcony adjacent to the bar so when I looked outside to sit all I could hear was this guy talking loudly over their balcony so close to ours and you could hear the door opening and closing frequently and we were only in it an hour and I thought nah I gotta ask to be moved.... Ms Stacey was amazing and moved us after a few hours the room was the same not so kitted out with goodies but I didn't mind that.... food was for me below average on all counts.... for the money they charge 14 dollars for not even a handful of rice in their Bouled restaurant and then in Costa they say is Mexican isn't even close the chicken FLAUTAS were served cold I had to ask whether this is the way they serve them but then they bought reheated mush... I ate it cause I was hungry but never again... the breakfast will cost you a steep $110 dollars for two fried eggs and oar boiled roast potatoes which were still raw (Bouled),. for two people and a chia seed bowl which was 5 mouthfuls and a croissant.... they have a captive audience and most places within locality are more or less the same and cost an arm and a leg...honestly for me this place food wise is not what a Rosewood aspired hotel and lets itself down. The front desk staff and concierge were amazing and helpful and even allowed us extra time in the room as I write we are catching a late night flight home...sad to say guys I wont be back..... shame because the previous week was spent at the magnificent THE COVE in Eleuthera.... you guys couldn't even touch them....its a shame as I felt robbed for two nights the room was $3008 on top of that $700 for food which included a terrible room service burger and chips and a chicken sandwich Jeez no way nah ahh never again.....

    Wonderful Resort

This was our first visit to The Bahamas. We have stayed in other Rosewood properties so we knew what to expect on the service. We loved our suite, very spacious, beautifully decorated, modern and great view. We were there for 8 days for Xmas. There was a special festival called Junkanoo in one of the gardens, we love it. Everyone in the hotel did everything to make our stay unforgettable. The wonderful service is the best thing about Bahamar: the 3 Butlers made our stay perfect: Corey, Li and Presley. Jaime, manager from Costa, took care of us every minute we were there and the food was wonderful. We also were spoiled by the pool and beach staff. Xmas dinner at Cafe Boulud was perfect with every course. Monica, the general manager is the best ever, she made our stay perfect, starting from the day we made our reservation. We knew Monica and Jaime from another Rosewood property. Everything was exceptional and absolutely unforgettable. The entire stay is a memory we will always treasure. We will be back with our children and grandchildren. Thanks to all of you we will be back.

    Dark and deeply overpriced

The Good: Warm, well-trained and enthusiastic staff. They are the best part of this resort. Beautiful grounds and landscaping.  The Bad: Our room was dark, depressing, and claustrophobic. The walls are white but there is only a single light source in the entire room and it's from a deeply shaded patio with mosquito laden vegetation that blocks all light. Not only did it not feel like we were in the Bahamas, it felt like we were relegated to a musky basement. Not okay for this price. Resort view? Not hardly. Was a view of a large wall covered with tangled foliage.  The Ugly: A glass of very mediocre white wine is $38 (with tax and tip). Appetizer flautas: $45. Margarita on the beach: $35. These prices are insulting to the staff and to the guests. I usually appreciate the Rosewood properties (have stayed at them in Santa Fe, Vancouver, Mayakoba - which, by the way, is far superior to this property - and NYC and DC) but not sure what’s going on here. The Baha Mar Disney vibes did not help. Boy did we feel foolish spending $350 on lunch for four (we were on a couples trip with two friends) for two inedible caesar salads (with bagged croutons), a few plain cheese quesadillas, and iced tea. Perhaps the most incredible moment came when we asked for tap water and were told we had to order the $18 bottles of water instead. This is the most nickeled and dimed I have ever felt at any hotel. Not just in the Bahamas or at a resort but anywhere in the world. Will never return.

    Disappointing stay

I typically don’t write reviews, but I really felt compelled to share my rather disappointing experience at the Rosewood Baha Mar. We spent 5 days at the end of December to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we’re unpleasantly surprised by the level of the service and the state of the property. The rugs and furniture in the room were stained and showed signs of heavy use, the towels in the bathroom were frayed , the toiletries are the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. I thought that maybe they poured lotion into the bottle with hair conditioner by mistake and asked for another bottle, but it was the same. We’ve used this brand of toiletries before and they are excellent, so I am not sure what was poured in the bottles provided. We asked concierge to make reservations for our anniversary dinner, which they did. When we showed up at the restaurant it turned out the reservation was 30 min earlier than communicated to us by concierge, but luckily they were able to seat us. Typically at the property of this level when you celebrate a special occasion it’s acknowledged in some way… a bottle of wine sent to the room, a small sweet treat, a note … nothing at Rosewood. A generic welcome note and 2 apples were waiting for us at the room. Room cleaning was not very consistent either, some days it was fine , other days coffee/tea/water was not restocked, sand left on the floor, furniture/pillows not straightened on the balcony, etc. You can not make reservations at the spa online and after calling a couple of times without anyone answering we just gave up. When you stay at luxury property like this you expect a certain standard of service and amenities. Unfortunately it was a disappointing stay overall, especially given the price tag.
