    So Many Issues (terrible food)!

    I have never considered myself a picky eater in my entire life and I’m generally an optimist. But, the FOOD here is TERRIBLE. Coming from Canada I’m familiar with the high standards of the Sheraton brand, but the Mexican version is much different. GRASSHOPPERS on my wife’s duck entree…you really think a tourist wants that? Barf. Other warnings: 1) Most items on the menu of the surf and turf restaurant (Punta Sal) are an extra, substantial cost. 2) There is no free cafe. Only a $13/drink CAD Starbucks in lobby. Coffee available for free at buffet. 3) The Japanese restaurant is on the timeshare side and is an extra cost. 4) Most toilets were plugged in bathroom near pool, so they were unusable. 5) To book an A La Carte restaurant (gross, so not sure why you would want to), you need to be IN PERSON at 8 AM at concierge. 6) Beach is not swimmable due to large rocks 7) Mini fridge does not not restocked

    Well I will start off we are avid Mexico travellers. Over the years discovered what we love, dislike and what are musts on vacation. I wasn’t sure what to expect coming here with half being timeshare. Do you need to sign for some things… yes… are lots not included… yes… especially à la cartes imo. They also seem to have lots of seafood items on the à la cartes menus, which when allergies are involved I’d rather not and just go out to eat as the other dishes included did not sound appealing to us. There is like 4 dishes with all inclusive only otherwise you need to pay. So we chose to just go out for dinners. This resort is medium sized, extremely clean, amazing employees… the rooms are nice, but beware the beds are uber soft so if you need more firm this is not the place. This is the only aspect that would be the decision not to come back as hubby has spinal fusion and needs more firm, he’s currently in excruciating pain due to the beds:( Drinks are good, buffet has to be one of the most disappointing factors of the place. Also wished they had a self serve snack bar or be able to place your own order…as you can’t get the pool side snacks without a waiter putting in the order… love that you can eat on your pool chair! That’s a huge selling factor for us. Also you can do room service for 100 pesos delivery charge. Should be included with AI imo. Ordered once and food was barely warm and yet it arrived within 30 min from the order time. Loved the tacos by the pool and honestly should be a daily thing!! I want Mexican food on holidays not burgers… Yes beach is small and Rocky no big deal for me . There is a massage tent set up not far to the right if one wants. Only issues getting pool chairs was on day 1 but that’s due to the new years rush still as we arrived on NYD , everyday since zero issues at any time!! Major positive!!! Overall we have had a great time, still got 2 days till home time…would absolutely return! And so glad I chose here vs the other choice I had lined up that was the same price…

    Food service and server were great.

    Fernando M was fantastic. He was friendly and helpful. He told us about the different flavors of tequila. He also helped my kids with their Spanish!

    Excellent Stay

    What truly made the stay special was the staff. Luis, Jimena, and Mariana went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. They were always friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made a big difference in our overall experience.

    Vacation entertainment staff

    Great hotel with lots of great activities. Luis, Mariana and Jinena was a team of people that ran all of the activities. Wonsjy prizes like complementary drinks and bracelets. The amazing staff where able to guide us through the many activities well like bracket making, bingo, Mexican lottery and much more. Overall I had a great time and really enjoyed the wonderful activities from the Sheraton Entrainment team.
