Quick Family Trip
I recently returned with my family from 5 nights at Sensira. We ranged in age from my 3-1/2 year old nephew to my parents in their 60’s. We just needed a quick getaway after all the craziness of the holidays and were looking for something simple and easy. The Sensira is a mid-sized hotel that is fairly new. Everything is fairly updated and it was kept spotless so you never had to worry about seeing any trash or leftover cups or plates around. There is a decent sized beach with lounge chairs and cabanas that were all included. We spent most of our time on the beach daybeds so some people could be in the sun and some in the shade. We had rooms with two queen beds and a nice sized balcony that were a decent size although there is no door to the bathroom and the shower is glass so if you aren’t with your significant other that might be a problem. We enjoyed our stay and spending time between the beach and the pools and never had an issue getting a lounge chair or daybed in the morning. There was plenty to do if you have kids either on their own or with the kids club. The breakfast buffet was as expected and for lunch you could either do the buffet as well or order from the restaurant and bar by the pool and beach. The service was fairly quick and we never felt like we were waiting a long time for a drink or food. There is also a cute little coffee shop/ cafe to grab a coffee or sweet snack during the day which was great. Sadly dinner was not so appealing. We went to 3 of the 4 sit down restaurants (Mexican, BBQ, and Italian) and didn’t love most of our meals. The food was either not what we expected or cooked improperly (we always asked for our meat to be cooked medium-rare, but it came out close to medium-well). The dinners are what we found to be the biggest downside of our trip and what could use the most work. They have a great arcade/ play area for kids along with 18 holes of mini golf, full size tennis court and basketball court to keep kids occupied and busy. We greatly enjoyed our little trip to Mexico and came back relaxed and refreshed.
BEWARE AND GO TO ANOTHER RESORT
BEWARE!!! $600 STOLEN from our room On day 1!! Housekeeping staff stole $600 from our room. Had to rummage thru purse and back back zippers to get the money. Resort DID NOTHING and DIDN’T CARE. They claimed they were going to investigate. No feedback or response. Go to another resort or stay out of Mexico.
Emphasis on FAMILY RESORT...NOT a sanctuary of tranquility
I am NOT a child hater but they need to be up front about how many kids and how they cater to them mostly at the resort. The BAD first....FAMILY RESORT with emphasis on KIDS .. There is no tranquility. Can't even enjoy the Lobby Bar as the NOISE from the kids play area right off the lobby is LOUD and echoing. Supposedly ADULTS ONLY areas....the only place we never saw kids was in the Amber Lounge. The restaurants were okay...Mexican...NOT Mexican as most know it Italian was not bad. Rodeo was the best restaurant. Las Brisas snack bar needs better choices. Buffet is not too bad. The dinner at Galerie Des Sens was a great experience. The room was very comfortable and the amenities very good. Towels are Great LOL Overall your vacation is what you make of it and we had a good time overall but will NOT revisit this resort. We spoke with many other couples that stated they would not return either..
Nice hotel with good all inclusive offer
Check in was quick and no problem. The room is spacious and is cleaned daily. The room doors are very thin, you can hear the people in the hallway even at night. The hotel complex offers enough space for all hotel guests. The buffet is quite varied, unfortunately the majority of the food is cold. They should urgently consider using other containers that keep the food warm longer. There are three entrances to the buffet, but each time at the main entrance you have to give your room number and explain if you have any intolerances. This is extremely stupid in my eyes it would be enough to have to say this once during the stay. The buffet attendants (in black suits) are very unfriendly. We paid extra for late check out. Apparently no one was informed about this, because from noon on our room keys did no longer worke. We were also called by the concierge who did not know why we are still here and the cleaning staff was also in the room. We expected more from the service
No reason to go back to this place ever again
This is a typical all inclusive, Mexican resort with all the typical bells and whistles you would expect. Two things I did not expect. During the second part of my stay, it was very difficult to get any service from the waiters in the la pergola buffet. Basically they would not bring water, salt/sugar or offer coffee, avoid any eye contact. I had to get the management involved get this addressed. Once I had a lengthy discussion at the concierge desk, everything was miraculously fixed. The second issue is that I left couple of personal items in the room when I was checking out. Upon returning home I sent multiple emails to the hotel none of which were answered. Finally I called and talked to the concierge who explained that I need to find the shipping company and direct them to come to the hotel so they would pick things up and then they would ship it to my home. This was disappointing as I hoped that the hotel will be a little more helpful. There are hundreds of very nice hotels in Mexico, Riviera Maya area. Why would I want to ever go back to Sinsera?
