New Years with other couples
The resort itself was beautiful and one of the cleanest I have stayed in and we had a great time. The rooms were great. The entertainment was also great even though it didn't seem popular with the guests. The food was a bit disappointing. We had a good meal at one specialty restaurant and at the buffet (which we usually avoid), but the rest of the meals were disappointing. We paid extra for the preferred club, and it was nice to have access to other bars and premium drinks, but the pool was just as crowded, if not more, and the butler service wasn't great. At times we felt it would have been easier to make plans without the butler, particularly when the wrong reservations were made. If the food had been better, we would probably be raving about the place and recommending to it everyone. We still had a great time and felt like it was good value

Amazing quality, top-shelf experience
Secrets Tides was the nicest resort we had been to. As soon as we step foot on the resort, everything was so aesthetically pleasing and beautiful and all the personnel were incredibly welcoming and super helpful. The room was gorgeous and so were all of the amenitites/facilities around the resort. Everywhere was clean and organized. Even though there were many guests in attendance when we were there (week before Christmas Day), it never felt crowded or too busy anywhere we went. The beach was also well maintained and beautiful to walk down. For food, there is something for everybody and the buffet is extremely impressive. Overall, this is a world-class resort and I would highly recommend it to anyone, no question.

Stolen Property, Manipulative Sales Tactics, Poor Food, and No Accountability — Avoid This Resort
I had a deeply disappointing experience at Secrets Tides Punta Cana, and I strongly advise others to avoid this property. Stolen Property & Lack of Accountability: My entire set of skincare products was stolen from our room. Instead of properly handling the situation, hotel management pressured us to sign a form promising not to report the incident to the police, claiming they would “investigate internally.” This investigation was purely performative. Once our vacation ended and we left the resort, they completely stopped responding to our messages. All we needed was a basic incident report so we could file an insurance claim, but as soon as you leave, you will not hear from them again. Be warned: do not expect follow-up or accountability after checkout. Manipulative “Complimentary” Massage Scam: We were offered a “complimentary” couple’s massage, which turned out to be a trap. We were forced into a 2-hour meeting with the sales team, followed by another 90-minute high-pressure sales presentation to sell Hyatt products and memberships. This consumed 2 half a day of our vacation. They lure you in and make it extremely uncomfortable to decline. If you are polite or non-confrontational, you will be taken advantage of. Do not be fooled by anything labeled “complimentary.” Terrible Experience During Christmas (Dec 24–27): Avoid visiting during Christmas. Most staff were on vacation, and we were told they receive no holiday pay, which clearly reflected in the service and food quality. All restaurants served the same fixed four-course menu, and the food was extremely poor—cold, overcooked, and difficult to chew. The buffet was the only somewhat acceptable option. All other restaurants had terrible service and unacceptable food quality. Dining & Facilities Issues: Restaurants claim no reservation required, yet there are always long waitlists. Expect 2.5 hours or more to finish a meal — bring a book. Gym is very small, overcrowded, poorly ventilated, and hot on the first floor where half of the weight training equipments are. Pools are overcrowded and the resort lacks any real vacation or atmosphere, like a college dorm. Overall Impression: This resort is purely transactional. Staff only seem interested if you are willing to pay extra for upgrades or buy Hyatt products. Otherwise, your concerns are ignored. This was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Between stolen property, manipulation, poor food, long waits, and complete lack of accountability, this resort does not meet the standards it advertises. Highly NOT recommended. Avoid this property.

A nice looking resort, but that's about all I can say.
The resort facilities were nice. I'm not really one to leave negative reviews or complain, but have to be candid and say that my wife and I both agreed this was the worst all inclusive resort we've ever stayed at. Again, facilities looked great but that's really about it. We never expect "high end food" at all inclusive resorts - - but in this instance you're literally taking your life in your hands with ever meal. . . it was really that bad. No matter where you ate on the resort. Service was also extremely poor. Not that we expect exceptional at all inclusive resorts - - but this was very substandard. Again, I hate to complain as I'm the one the ultimately picked this resort - - but I strongly encourage anyone considering this property to really think twice.
