Excellent with just a few annoyances
We were at Secrets Tides in Punta Cana in February and frankly it was excellent. I want to say first and foremast our butler Andrea “Andreina” was absolutely outstanding. We have had this service in the past at other resorts but trust me when I say Andrea set the standard for outstanding service. I also want to say Juliana at the Preferred lounge bar was such a joy each and every time we were there (such a great personality). I also want to highlight the housekeeping and room service teams who were excellent. The restaurants while not outstanding were good and the nightly entertainment was always excellent. Frankly the one thing which stands out as not what I would expect is the daily challenges getting a chair at the pool or on the beach. If you are not prepared to be up before sunrise your chances of getting a seat is slim to none. Allowing people who have no intention to be occupying the seats for hours to simply put a towel on a chair and thus reserve it for the day really is an annoyance. Overall the resort is beautiful, the beach is attended regularly to ensure sargassum does not get out of control and the service of all the staff was great. We had a great time!

Trip to Remember
We absolutely loved our stay at Secrets Tides Punta Cana! The staff were attentive and provided very personalized service. They remembered our names and made us feel truly welcomed—like it was our home away from home. Everyone was pleasant, quick, and attentive throughout our stay. A special shoutout to William for taking care of our bags, and to Coca Cola from the entertainment team for ensuring we were always entertained and included in the programs. Chef Danny and Maria from Hibachi made our dinner experience incredibly memorable and special. Esterlin from the café and bar always welcomed us warmly and consistently offered snacks and drinks. Edwin and Maria from the bar ensured we were always well taken care of (and never without a drink!). And of course, “Happy Boy,” who truly lives up to his name—always smiling and happy at the towel station. The food overall was good, with a few exceptions. The Asian and Mediterranean fusion concept at Meraki did not work well for us. Desserts in most restaurants were average; however, the desserts at Tierra were excellent. The resort itself is beautiful and smells amazing everywhere—from the lobby to the rooms. It is very clean, with no sargassum on the beach during our stay. The atmosphere was quiet, relaxing, and truly luxurious. Overall, it was the people, service, and ambiance that made our stay exceptional.

5 Star All The Way
The Preferred Club experience at Secrets exceeded all of my previous experiences visiting an all inclusive resort. The personal concierge element was unmatched. The resort itself is spectacular. Our room was awesome. The friendly, attentive staff in every location of the resort is 5 star.

Really nice resort with great staff
This was our 3rd time in the Dominican Republic and first time at Secrets The Tides. for my wife and I. The resort was 100% full due to a couple of conventions there but still had a great time. Spots at the pool were scarce but we still managed to find a spot each day either at the pool or under a palapa on the beach. We are Unlimited Vacation Club Preferred Club members and had used 4 of our free Premiere Nights during our stay and then paid for 3 other nights for an Ocean View Preferred Club Room. Our first room was a tropical view Jr. Suite. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable but the view was pretty much a vacant lot between Secrets and the next resort over. We really didn't mind since we were only in the room long enough to sleep, shower and change after the pool or beach. Our Ocean View Preferred Jr. Suite obviously had a nicer view with a Jacuzzi tub and a table and 2 chairs on our balcony. I would say that we had as good of a view as any Ocean Front room would and probably would not spend the extra money on that. We did spend a bit more time on our balcony in this room especially with the better view and Jacuzzi tub. One thing it appears Secrets has stopped doing is providing sunscreen in the Preferred Club rooms which is disappointing considering we usually don't check a bag and so bringing anything but a small 1.5 ounce travel size sunscreen is not possible for us. Fortunately at the Preferred Club pool they had a tray of some sunscreen people left behind that we could use for free. The food at all the restaurants was very good. We ate at all the restaurants and the stand outs were the steaks and seafood at Oceana and steaks at Seaside Grill and the Hibachi Show at Meraki. Usually at the Hibachi Show at other Secrets they gave you a choice of shrimp, beef or chicken but here we got all 3 so if you were hungry at the end you must eat a lot. We really liked the food there. The surf and turf at Oceana was really good which was an 8 ounce sirloin and a really big prawn. The beef tenderloin at Seaside was excellent and probably the best steak at the resort. It was cooked really nicely was tender and tasted as good any steak I've had at steak places back home. One thing I would recommend is if you like your steak medium rare ask for medium as they tend to undercook a little bit. The Marketplace Buffet was also a nice buffet. The fruit was fresh and really good and they had 2 stations for made to order scrambled eggs with stuff like peppers, ham, etc that you could add to it and one omelet station. We stayed pretty much at Preferred Club bars and by far our favorite bartender was Felix or "Felix Navidad" as I called him. He always greeted us with a Macho Man Randy Savage OHHH YEAHHH when we came in. Lol. But he could make a mean mojito. They had several types of the local Barcelo Rum there and so I decided to try a mojito using a different one each time. Felix was pretty good at keeping track. (My favorite ended up being the Barcelo Triple Reserve) The last time we were in the Dominican we stayed at Secrets Royal Beach and it was also nice but we also had a butler. And we did have a butler here too. We haven't had one at any other Secrets and we really like that. Our Butler Andrea was great! Everyday she made sure to let us know what was going on at the resort and would check in with us to see if we needed anything. She made reservations for us at the Hibachi Show and also for my wife's massage and hydrotherapy. But she also surprised us and had our room set up with rose petals on the floor and a heart shape on the bed, a hot bubble bath in the Jacuzzi tub, and a bottle of champagne with chocolate covered strawberries. Thank you so much again, Andrea! One thing we love about our visits to the Dominican is that they always are friendly and very welcoming. They are genuinely glad you're there. Even the landscape guys give you a smile and an hola! The last thing I'll talk about are the shows. Secrets usually has really good shows and they had 2 here that were exceptional. They had a Rock Show and a Queen Tribute Show. Both were outstanding but the Queen Tribute was incredible.

Construction noise dampened the trip
Just returned 2/19. Room was a jungle view and we received a construction view. We couldn’t use the deck due to the construction noise. Third time at a Secrets last two have been poor views. We had paid more through Apple Vacation for this room choice expected more. The remainder of the trip was good. The food, drinks and service were good. Entertainment was good. Good trip other than the room view
