  Beware of people selling you something like a time share.

  Overall good experience and enjoyed the food, pools, beach and entertainment. Be aware of people selling something like a time share. We were promised $200 to use for an excursion but later found out that wasn’t true. The guy telling us made a mistake so they said. We listened to their talk which took way too long and only got $100. We booked an excursion for 2 but my husband was sick the day of and no refund! Couldn’t even apply the lost money to another excursion

  I stayed at Secrets Royal Beach in November 2025 along with a friend. 1 - Resort The resort itself is very nice but a little small. The secrets side alone only has 2 pools for every guest and 1 extra for preferred club members. The main pool and preferred club pool are more party like and have loud music and entertainment. The beach has easy access and is stunning! They have a large portion of the beach so that’s very good. The chairs get taken very fast so it’s better to come early to secure one. The pools were very cold. We personally preferred the preferred club pool more as it was less busy and still really nice. The airport isn’t too too far from the resort either. There was very easy access to watersports. We did the party boat which was really fun i definitely recommend. 2 - Service The service here wasn’t crazy. We had a butler as per being a preferred club member however he didn’t really do much for us. Originally we had asked for an early check in as we took a red eye flight. We knew we were already gonna have to wait a while before our room was ready, but we were prepared for that. We arrived at the resort around 8 AM and we left our bags and went to check in. She had told us that our room would be ready by 10 or 11am. So till then we decided to just get a pool chair and take a nap. We came back around 10:30 AM and she told us that our room was not going to be ready until 3 PM. This was extremely disappointing as I had specifically requested an early check in and they had already told us it was going to be ready. At 3 PM our room was ready and we were taken to it by our butler. We got into the room and our bathroom was dirty. The shower was wet and had hair in it and the counter had hair on it as well. The room itself wasn’t anything crazy either however they did give us some champagne and some desserts. The tequila that they give you in the room as well is really good and I definitely recommend it! I found that the service at certain bars and restaurants weren’t great either. There wasn’t ever much of a wait for a restaurant. We felt rushed to eat and the service kind of rude sometimes. 3 - Food The food was okay. The restaurant were good we even went to the restaurants on the family side as well which is really good that we had access to that as well. The steak here was delicious as well. The buffet was not great. We barely went there because it was not good at all. There was no variety and overall just didn’t like the taste of it. 4 - Entertainment If you are looking for a party resort or a lot of entertainment, this probably is not the resort for you. They have a small casino which some people may like. I believe they also have a nightclub however it was under renovation when we went so we were not able to use it. They had a karaoke lounge at night till 11pm which is where we went every night as it’s where the younger crowd gravitated towards because that was the most partyish thing happening at night. They had nightly shows at the theater, but I personally didn’t find them to be anything crazy or anything worth watching but that’s just a personal opinion. After the karaoke, in the same theatre area as the live shows, there would be a DJ that would play music and it kind of just turns into a little dancing area, which was quite fun. That’s where we would end up after the karaoke and I assume they made that area due to the renovations that we’re going on at the nightclub. Overall, I don’t think I will be going back to this resort. I just don’t think it fit what I was looking for and I don’t have the greatest experience.

  Overall a decent time

  Overall, our experience was decent but I expected a little more from the resort. The best part of our stay was the staff. Julio was our butler and he went above and beyond for us throughout our stay. Our room was beautiful and housekeeping was on top of things. Unfortunately in our room only one outlet out of 4 worked. I did bring a portable charger so made sure that was always on the charger when not in use. We wish the music at the pool was more upbeat. It was mostly slow and somber. Not music you’d expect at a resort. Lady (yes that’s her name) was our server at the pool on day 2 and she made the experience so fun that we made sure to sit in her section the rest of the stay! The breakfast buffet was delicious, but the Bluewater grill and El Patio left much to be desired. We had reservations for the hibachi at Himitsu our 3rd night but unfortunately we did not make it due to gastrointestinal issues that arose a few hours after El Patio and lasted for almost 48 hours. Still unsure what the cause was- but just be cautious because it did ruin 48 hours of our trip. The pools were beautiful-especially the preferred pools. The grounds were also stunning and very well maintained. To be honest, I’m not sure we would go back because of the issues presented- but the incredible service from our butler Julio and server, Lady has us thinking about giving it another try one day.

  Customer Service has tanked.

  Customer service has gone down hill since before Hyatt took over. My air travel had a glitch that they refused to address, and even spoke with their travel company that handles airfare. Nothing...who books 3 out of 4 legs of a trip first class, and 1/4 economy??? If you are not physically at the hotel, you can not speak to a manager. They will even yell at you for not being a current guest when calling, and then hang p on you. There is no way to discover who the person was, so a complaint is fruitless. I was a fan of Secrets, and even had, for a while oe of my recipes on their menu...not anymore...Will enjoy my trip at the end of this month...then bye-bye.

  If You want to be Appreciated, you will need to Break Open your Wallet and Upgrade to Privilaged Guest Status

  We recently stayed at Secrets Royal Beach...we were there last year as well...this year we had booked the new Secrets Tides resort, but 3 months afterwards were notified that our trip had been cancelled and that we had the option to receive a refund or be moved to Secrets Royal Beach...given that 3 months later prices everywhere had gone up we opted to go back to the Secrets Royal Beach resort as we had a good time there last year...when we asked our travel Agent...RED TAG if Secrets Tides was going to give us any kind of upgrades at the other resort we were told NO...so when we arrived I asked about it myself...I mentioned that Secrets Tides should have done something for us but seeing as how we and our friends were guests at Secrets Royal Beach last year, and the fact that we decided to come back this year as opposed to taking a refund and booking elsewhere...perhaps they could do something nice for us...a room upgrade perhaps, or even being allowed top shelf liquor as the privileged guests are...heck...even a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses in our room saying welcome back...anything to show they actually appreciate our return business...what we got was a BIG FAT " ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM...ITS UP TO SECRETS TIDES TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU"...in short the facility is nice, the food is good as is the entertainment, although this year the pool activities were seriously lacking compared to last year...but unless you upgrade your stay to privileged upon checking in...you're a nobody...just another guest...upper management is poor and seriously lacking.
