Jan 16, 2026A Great Week at Playa Mujeres!
We go to the Cancun / Riviera Maya area 2 to 3 times per year and have stayed at many different resorts in this area. This was our first time at the newly renovated resort. We were there with out daughter and her partner. We were so glad we chose Secrets Paya Mujeres for this trip! The resort setting is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are beautiful. The resort had only been open for 5 days after closing since April of 2025. The staff throughout the resort could not have been better. Everyone there is so friendly, kind and helpful. We stayed in a Preferred Ocean Front Master Suite and our daughter & partner stayed in a Preferred Ocean Front Junior Suite. The newly remodeled rooms are very beautiful, tastefully done and very functional. We spent most of our time in by the preferred building area. Because the Preferred Pool, Preferred Lounge and Preferred Breakfast Restaurant are all clustered in one area. We enjoyed our days in that area, and enjoying our lunches in the Preferred Lounge! The food at Ki Ki Che, the Preferred Restaurant, above the Preferred Lounge was exceptional and the wait staff, excellent! For being open for just 5 days and many of the staff new, the food at the resort was really good for an all-inclusive resort. We are at the Market Buffet for breakfast just once and was good. For dinner, we really enjoyed Portofino, Himitsu and Hibachi. Two of the nights we took a cart over to the Dreams Resort and ate at the Mediterranean and Brazilian restaurants, enjoyed both those restaurants! We want to give a special thanks to the following people: Maru - Beverage server at Preferred Lounge and Pool Area Marcela - Beverage server at Preferred Lounge and Pool Area Alfredo Tamar - Chef at Preferred breakfast and Preferred Lounge Lunch Breakfst servers at Ki Ki Che - Alejandro, Zorayda, Luis & Santiago Luis - New waiter at Portofino Franciso - Excellent waiter at Himitsu Julio - Hibachi Chef Dulce - Hostess at Ki Ki Che Susana - Day Manager at Ki Ki Che and Market Buffet Allan - Concierge Desk at Preferred Lounge

one week getaway from the cold weather
The resort is beautiful and the beach is very well maintained. It was just remodeled so the rooms were very nice. Food was very good at all of the restaurants and we were also able to go to the dreams next door which gave us more choices when it came to dinner. Make sure to pay attention to the dress code as they enforced it very hard at Dreams. Golf course was awesome and very challenging. Very tight fairways with lots of hazards and jungle. Even saw a croc on one hole. Definitely would go back.

Wonderful Stay & Unforgettable 50th Birthday Celebration
We had a wonderful stay at Secrets Playa Mujeres. The resort is beautiful and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. Special thanks to Delmi, Maru, and Aldi in the Preferred Club, who truly made our trip memorable. We were celebrating my 50th birthday, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and taken care of with genuine kindness and attention. The new Preferred Club pool is stunning, with great ocean views, and breakfast at Ki’Ki’ Che was excellent and consistently high quality. Overall, a great experience and a resort we would happily return to.

Amazing resort, awesome food, great staff
Super clean resort, staff was amazing, amenities were awesome as well. I've been to 6 different Secrets locations and this was one of my favorites!

Jan 10, 2026Lovely resort, the reopening kinks need to be worked out
The resort is lovely, the staff are kind and work hard . No problem getting chairs at the pools. The food is pretty good. We are currently staying here and gave them a low rating because of our experiences at the Preferred Club. What was promised was not delivered. The first two days the pool was not open, the restaurant at the club may or may not be open, when we asked staff they had conflicting answers. The periodicals were not available the first few days. The app doesn’t work and the staff say they can’t make a reservation at the restaurant or at the hibachi, every thing must go through the app. The time of when we could make a reservation was noon, 1:00 or 1:30, depending on what staff we asked. Every time we tried, nothing was available. Trying to resolve these issues has been challenging without any resolution. We really hope this resort works out the kinks, but as of today we would not recommend the preferred club. The only added value are the staff at the club, they are great. However The preferred club was not worth the extra money. We were at Secrets in the preferred club in Cabo in November, it was a great experience We were expecting this to be comparable.
