5 ⭐️ Experience @ Secrets Playa Mujeres
My wife and I visited Secrets Playa Mujeres in February 2026, the resort was amazing and exceeded our expectations! This was our first vacation with an all-inclusive resort. Honestly, after our visit, the bar has been set very high! Having the opportunity to visit their sister, resort, DREAMS (next door using a short walking path) was a total bonus as it opened opportunities to dine at different restaurants, visit their pools, and walk the grounds/beach. The hospitality and service is 5 star! It was amazing. Everyone so friendly and willing to assist. After our visit, we're already planning our next adventure to a different Secret Resorts!

Start up issues, vs not meeting the Secrets resorts expected standards?
This was a quick long weekend Stay for a family of eight. Check in was easy, rooms were all close together and yet private. The renovations of the resort were beautiful, rooms were nicely updated with a nice neutral palette. We had a non-preferred tropical garden view room which strangely enough had a cement tub on the balcony. We didn’t use it as it didn’t look very comfortable. Restaurants were good having no reservations was fine. We were able to get seated quite quickly even with a group of eight. The only downfall was the resort was quite full with a convention of approximately 300 to 400 people.. The resort decided that the one night that I had wanted to do which was the outdoor dining experience with the show asado was to be only accessed by this large convention. The Asado experience for paying resort travellers was rerouted to the buffet and was a sadly underwhelming experience. We decided then to go eat in a sitdown restaurant instead. Another issue was the shade available on the beach. It was windy during our stay and shade is provided by white umbrellas, which were not allowed to be put up due to the wind. That made us either try and seek out space at the pool which was filled with towels as early as 6 o’clock in the morning. The resort needs to figure out the shade issue at the beach for the non-preferred customers. We did pay quite a bit of money to go, to have challenges finding shade, especially at the beach. would I return? Perhaps, we’ve also travelled to secrets Akumal, which was a far better experience. Perhaps there’s some Growing pains with the newly open resort? Or perhaps there’s just things to still get worked out. Would only go back if I find a great deal.

An Amazing Experience Worth Every Moment
My girlfriend and I had the most wonderful experience at Secrets. From the moment we entered, we immediately felt welcomed. All of our questions were answered, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. Everyone was smiling, friendly, and attentive, and the entire resort was spotless. We also had an incredible massage experience. A staff member by the pool approached us with a special offer, and we ended up booking a package that included a massage, sauna, steam room, and a private pool experience — all for $115 each, which felt like an amazing value compared to where we’re from. Being on the all adult side was very relaxing. We slept peacefully through the night. Night time is very quiet by the rooms, and if you want to go clubbing you can always go to the side where Dreams is located for the club. I believe there is another club by Desires as well. The golf cart staff were fantastic as well. One team member in particular, Guillermo, stood out. He was funny, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy his job — just like everyone else we encountered. We can’t wait to return.

This should be on your "MUST CHECK OUT" list
My husband and I stayed at Secrets Playa Mujeres Feb 19-26 (2026). This is a beautiful resort and very large! We have stayed at many other Secrets resorts, so this review is a bit biased based on our experience at other Secrets resorts. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were brought in through the preferred section. I was pleasantly surprised that they had our room all ready to go, despite us arriving earlier than their scheduled check-in time of 4pm (we arrived around noon). We were upgraded through UVC (Unlimited Vacation Club) from a preferred ocean view room to a preferred swim out ocean view room. Our swim-out pool water was a beautifully warm temperature and lovely to slip into on cooler evenings. Our UVC Representative, Jose, was helpful and friendly from start to finish, without being overbearing. He helped us get some additional amenities in the room (like extra hangers and such) but didn't try to intrude on our vacation with sales tactics. He made us a friendly invitation to go visit another Secrets property, which we declined, but instead decided to go have breakfast with him one morning, just because he was very kind and we really liked him. No high pressure - just a friendly chat. Our room was attended to promptly both day and night by the maid service. Our in-room bar service (minifridge) had some hiccups the first couple of days with no refills, but once I spoke to our UVC representative about it, they appeared literally moments later and OVER stocked us with everything we could need. He gave me more coffee pods than I could actually use, lots of water, pop, juice, and even an extra bottle of Bacardi White (which is my drink of choice). We never encountered any further issues with filling up the fridge after that. The room was a great temperature and I liked that we had full control of the thermostat - to turn up or down, according to our liking. We have been to other Secrets where they are locked, and we don't like that. I have seen a lot of Facebook posts complaining about water temp in the showers. We didn't experience any of these issues. We were in room 3125 and we never had an issue getting hot water for showers during our week stay. The service is, in our opinion, really where this resort shines. Every team member that we encountered, whether it be a waiter, waitress, bartender, cleaner, guest reps, or entertainment, was lovely, friendly and willing to help you or just to make sure you are happy and satisfied. If I had to choose a negative thing about this resort, it is this: Just due to their layout and being a very big resort, I feel they fall short in providing pre-dinner entertainment for those that are not travelling (either walking or taking a golf cart ) to the other end of the resort (it's pretty far). There are 2 or 3 restaurants at one end and 3 restaurants by the rooms/main pool area. So if you choose one of the main area restaurants to dine at, and you don't want to eat at 6 or 7 - but want to get out of your room - there is really nothing to do and nothing going on unless you want to take the golf cart up to the other end - listen to pre dinner music - and then travel back down again to go for dinner - and then travel back up again to go to the show. Other than that small detail, which I am sure many people wouldn't even care about, this is a lovely resort, and we will definitely be back. They treated us well and the beach and pools (albeit pretty cold (main pool) ) were lovely. I highly recommend booking preferred, as you will have access to the gorgeous preferred pool, equipped with Bali beds and total comfort, with an infinity pool that won't freeze your unmentionables off!! :) Plus, you will have the added benefit of having Adrian as your pool concierge (unless he is off), and he is AMAZING. This guy goes above and beyond for each of his guests. I am certain he will be the hotel manager one of these days!!! Should you check this place out ? 100%! Highly recommended. Happy Travels!
